Braddens is a wonderful, quaint restaurant in downtown St. Charles. We held our reception on the outdoor patio and had dancing indoors by the bar area. They served dinner and drinks for everyone, as well as made our wedding "cake" (gooey butter is their specialty and my favorite!).

They do not typically do weddings, though we were not the first reception they hosted. They were so kind and willing to work with us, especially the owner, Alice. She even went out the day before the wedding and bought a new sound system so we could more easily have the music we wanted! Since they are independently owned and do not usually operate as a reception venue, there were several small kinks to work out, but Alice was professional and laid back about all the details.

We also got a lot of authority over things that other venues tried to control--what food and drink to serve, where to seat people, how long we stayed, decorations, etc. It was great! We got so many compliments on the location and food. For us, it was the perfect size and atmosphere for the wedding we wanted. Thank you Braddens!
