Bowing Oaks Plantation is a Jacksonville-based venue that combines rustic charm with a modern flair. It’s a prime location for ceremonies, engagement dinners, receptions and rehearsal dinners. It's a popular venue year-round.
Facilities and Capacity
Although the focal point is a country barn, Bowing Oaks Plantation offers modern upgrades, making things convenient for you and your loved ones. The 6,000 square-foot facility contains handicap-accessible restrooms, two large dressing areas for the wedding party to use between events and a large kitchen, suitable for a caterer. DJs and other entertainment vendors must play inside the venue; electrical power is available. The ballroom accommodates up to 200 people, is climate-controlled and overall has a rustic yet elegant appearance. There also are two outdoor ceremony sites: the “I do” oak and the covered pavilion; both options, getting married under oak trees and getting married in a more formal setting, may accommodate up to 200 guests.
Tables and chairs are covered under the packages offered, making them two things you don’t have to worry about. The staff can make recommendations on linen vendors, and they require that you use one of their approved wedding coordinators and get liability insurance. A one-hour rehearsal is covered in the venue cost.
Only approved caterers and bartenders are to be used; if you use one of their recommended insured and licensed bartenders, you may bring your own alcohol (just no kegs, and there’s a no-shot policy).
From the 19th through the early part of the 20th century, Bayard (the historic site where the plantation sits) was a tourist hotspot. Given that it was between St. Augustine and Jacksonville, the spots in Bayard were a hit with those traveling through; the plantation continues to be a welcoming site of stellar hospitality.
Bowing Oaks Plantation is set on five acres of land. Thus, there are many prime locations to snap photos. As for your send-off, the staff knows you want to go out on a high note; however, the following items are the only ones that may be used for the send-off:

This was a great venue! It rained but it made it more magical with the lights outside and the clear umbrellas. Everyone loved this rustic/elegance feel of the venue. We loved having our wedding here!Sent on 07/07/2019

Beautiful, easy to work with, prime spot
Bowing oaks is absolute perfection. My biggest things were to have enough room for a lot of guests, the ceremony under oak trees, big bridal and groom suites, near hotels and a rustic but elegant style. Bowing filled all needs and more!! We looked here first and immediately fell in love. Heather was amazing and always answered any questions I had. I highly recommend this venue for anyone and for any event.Sent on 04/03/2019

I have had the opportunity to coordinate one of my weddings at Bowing Oaks Plantation. The staff is great to work with and were very accommodating to all of the guest, bridal party and vendors. Meeting the owners was a great privilege, finding out the back ground of the property and why it is so special. I highly recommend Bowing Oaks Plantation for all of my brides.
