About

Welcome and thanks for your interest in BOTTICELLI. The musicians of BOTTICELLI are all professionals living and performing in the Hudson Valley. We are members of several orchestras including the Hudson Valley Philharmonic and are graduates of several conservatories including The Julliard School, Curtis Institute and Manhattan School of Music. BOTTICELLI has been providing music for weddings and other functions for more than twenty years.

This material is designed to help you with the task of choosing a group and music for your wedding. Traditions vary (and you certainly don't need to follow tradition), but music is usually performed during at least three parts of the ceremony. First, the Prelude music sets the mood, beginning with the arrival and seating of the guests, usually about 15 minutes before the ceremony is scheduled to begin. Second, the Processional, which includes the bridal party (sometimes the parents of the bride and groom) and the bride. Finally, the Recessional takes the bride and groom and the wedding party out. The music often continues until all guests have left the premises.

There are many other opportunities for music during the ceremony; lighting of candles, communion, offertory, walking around the bima, a pause in the ceremony for any reason, and sometimes just the pleasure of having a specific piece of music included.

Selecting music is not always easy with the wealth of pieces available. We consider it our job to help you choose the music that you consider to be perfect for your wedding.

Professional and beautiful musicianship!

My husband and I are both musicians, and so we had high standards when looking for a string quartet for our wedding ceremony. There are so many out there, but they are NOT all created equal. I am so thrilled we found the Botticelli Chamber Players. We were impressed with the recordings on their website—excellent tuning and musicality—and loved that they were local to the area where our wedding was taking place. When we spoke to Nanette on the phone we expressed that we didn’t want the standard Pachelbel's Canon or any wedding marches. She was totally on board and helped us choose selections that fit our taste and the feeling we wanted to create. In the end, a couple of the pieces we requested were ones the group hadn’t played before, but they agreed to learn them and played them beautifully on the day. Their musicianship was excellent and they somehow timed the processional music perfectly—magic! The whole ceremony felt like a dream, and the music was a big part of that. Highly recommend!

I couldn't be happier with Botticelli Chamber Players. I booked a trio for my ceremony and cocktail hour, and it was lovely. Nanette was very accommodating and made every effort to play my varied selections (I wanted both pop and classical songs played at the reception). I can't recommend them enough. Very talented and professional.

Nanette Koch and another member of the Botticelli Chamber Players (Cello and Violin) provided the most beautiful musical background at the wedding. It was a casual affair and they proved to be very flexible concerning timing, seating and lighting. Not an easy feat while maintaining an excellent quality of sound and professionalism. All arrangements were made over the phone or via email, yet the planning discussions concerning the musical selections and recommendations seemed to come together so easily.

Botticelli provided string trio for our wedding. The music was beautiful and was a big hit. I worked directly with Nanette she helped pick out the music along with my wife and I. Nanette was very down to earth and easy to work with. They made our day very special.

My husband and I were married at the Thayer Hotel at West Point. My husband had a favorite Italian Opera song that I wanted to surprise him with at the wedding, but we didn't know how it would work being played without the Opera singer. Botticelli was on it. They were so helpful and learned how to play the song just for us! My husband was so surprised and honored. They did a fabulous job and we would recommend them to anyone for any event!

Nanette and the Botticelli Chamber Players were wonderful. We had them play at our wedding at the Mohonk Mountain House and everything was terrific! Nanette took many days talking to me leading up to the wedding to help us decide on ceremony music. We asked for a special song to be played at the last minute, and they took the time to find the sheet music and learn the song for us. They made our day so perfect. I would absolutely recommend them to all Brides-to-be, as they were truly delightful to work with.

The Botticelli chamber players did a beautiful job playing ceremonial music for our wedding in early september at Round Hill. Nannette kept in contact with myself and our officiant throughout our planning process. I walked down the aisle to 'Can't help falling in love' and closed the ceremony with 'Only God knows" by the beach boys while my guests were serendaded to classical chamber music before our ceremony began. They were professional and a pleasure to work with!

We used a string trio for our ceremony, and they were right on-time and played beautifully! After recently attending someone else's wedding with traditional organ music, I found the strings at our wedding to be much more elegant and romantic. (Sorry if I sound like a snob, but it's true!) Even visually, there's something about musicians playing stringed instruments that sets the right tone. Walking down the isle (and back down the isle with the groom!) was very special; I still have a memory of the sound of the violin in particular. Nanette was my primary contact person, and she was always very responsive to my e-mails. You can do more than 3 musicians; we just chose the trio.

Nanette and the Botticelli Chamber Players were an the perfect choice for my ceremony musicians! I am a classically trained flutist, so excellent music was important to me. We selected a trio of flute, violin and cello to play for our prelude and one piece during the exchange of rings and vows. From the first email to the day of the wedding, Nanette was professional, friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, our organist never showed to play the bridal processional and recessional (just one of those last minute wedding snafus!), and Botticelli graciously and professionally improvised the music selection or both. We were so grateful! It flowed so beautifully, none of our guests even suspected that something was not going to plan. Thank you, Nanette and Botticelli Chamber Players, for our outstanding musicianship and flexibility!
