perfect space for our dream wedding

We loved Boscobel so so much!!! Collaborating with Ryan and his team was seamless and smooth. They were so so accommodating and helped us to have the most enjoyable day. Boscobel helped us to accommodate elder family members with special parking, were apart of coordinating with vendors, and helped set up the space to be so magical and special for our wedding day. We will always return to visit to enjoy the amazing views and gardens.

Colleen, our contact at Boscobel, was amazing. She was supremely patient, responsive, and super friendly. She always got back to me on questions I had in a short time frame and was always as accommodating as possible. Boscobel is a beautiful venue, go check it out - you won't be disappointed!

As soon as my (now) husband and I visited Boscobel, I knew it was THE place we would get married. The events manager, Colleen, was attentive, kind, and very responsive to all our questions. She made us feel right at home and didn't mind our frequent visits with vendors. It's a unique space to work in, but Colleen made it easy and the wedding was so perfect. She went above and beyond to make our wedding day perfect and I'm so thrilled we chose Boscobel!

My only piece of advice is to consider the long walk to the bathroom and your guests; we didn't have very many older guests with mobility issues, but it is a long walk from where the reception tent is set up to the bathroom. We chose not to rent additional bathrooms but if you have room in your budget, it may be something you want to do. Otherwise, I hands down recommend Boscobel as your wedding venue!!!

Beautiful outdoor venue overlooking the Hudson River, Constitution marsh and West Point on the front lawn of the mansion. The staff was outstanding and very accommodating and had back up plans for unpredictable weather. It was also absolutely beautiful for pictures.

There could not be a more beautiful place to get married in the Hudson Valley than at Boscobel House and Gardens. Of course, all you are renting is the setting - everything else must be brought in - but the backdrop literally looks like a green screen it is so gorgeous.
The staff are flexible, friendly, and helpful.
Our guests were shocked by the location - it stole the show! :)

Pro's:

1. You will not find a location more beautiful and stunning.

2. Outlets for vendors make hook up easy

3. Some chairs and tables provided along with 40ft x 40ft tent (the tent isn't ugly or very charming either, we used it to save money and it was fine, but you can always rent a nicer/larger one)

4. Affordable pricing

Cons

1. It was cold on our wedding day. Boscobel had informed us that heaters for the tent were provided. However, the heaters turned out to be space heaters designed for small rooms and not large tents. Also, before the wedding we were informed that one of heaters was not working and they had rented a heater. This heater was actually designed for the space, but Boscobel staff were unable to get it working. After the wedding we were informed by the vendor who provided the heater that the staff were using it improperly (user error). So our guests were very cold throughout the reception.

2. Colleen (event coordinator at Boscobel) was in her office when vendors were arriving during the morning and were in need of her help locating outlets and other equipment. After being asked, she did come down and help facilitate setup.

3. In the dressing room several tables were stored that were being used during the reception. While my wife and bridesmaids were dressing, staff members of Boscobel House entered about three times unannounced while they were dressing. Not cool.

Great view. Unprofessional service.

I recently held my wedding here. The venue is absolutely stunning and we were lucky to have great weather. We would have written a raving review of the venue but the on-site coordinator, Angie Tocci, soured our whole experience. From the get-go, she was very disorganized and would often go for long periods of times before responding to our emails or requests. And when we would finally get ahold of her and she would have all these excuses as to why she went silent and make all these promises. It was very confusing to deal with because for a while everything would seem to be on track but as soon as the conversation was over, she would go silent again and eventually claw back her promises. We tried to work with it as much as we could but it all came to a head on the day of our wedding. I had at least 10 guests tell me after the wedding that they had or overheard someone else have really negative interactions with her. And I can only imagine the number of guests who were too polite to say anything. Most notably, she yelled at my sister in law right before the ceremony in front of everyone because she thought she was sitting in the wrong aisle. We confirmed later that Angie was wrong but my sister in law moved anyways, leaving my widowed mother in law having to sit by herself. She yelled at her very rudely and loudly in front of everyone which was quite embarrassing for my sister in law and just an awful tone to set right before a wedding ceremony. She also very curtly snubbed my elderly grandmother who simply asked to peek into the reception window to see the seating arrangement so she could plan how to get around (she is very old and it is difficult for her to get around new places). She also yelled at anyone she could at the end of the night because some guests forgot to take home the centerpieces (which is a very common thing that happens at a lot of weddings). I can understand telling guests no or encouraging them to take the centerpieces politely, but she was just nasty. It was so rude and unprofessional. And the thing is - our wedding wasn't event that complicated or extravagant. We even had a staff member tell us that we were one of the more easier guests that they've had! I can only imagine how she would have acted if the wedding was actually a lot or if we put a lot of pressure on her. Thankfully, we did not see too much of this ourselves that day and our guests were kind enough to not say anything until after the wedding day was over. I tried calling the venue after the wedding to speak with a manager or someone in hopes to save future weddings hosted there but no one was available so the receptionist took my info and told me someone would call me back. After no one called, I tried calling a couple more times but they didn't pick up. Really disappointing result. In conclusion, if you were thinking about having a wedding here, I'd say the venue is beautiful but not worth all the stress of the bad service. Especially annoying because the venue is so expensive. You'd think they'd have more professional service. And if you are already planning on having a wedding here, beware of Angie and hire a good planner and day-of coordinator to keep her accountable.

The staff at Boscobel ruined my wedding. Although we had gone the day before and went over everything, when we arrived nothing was set up. They turned the sprinklers on while we were setting up and we got soaked. Random people walked right through our ceremony procession. We were told boscobel remains open to the public but that our ceremony would be private and that our cost was to ensure security and privacy. There was none. They locked us out of the bathroom several times. Then they told us we had to leave when we still had 1/3 left of what we'd paid for, we lost time with our photographer and our musicians that we paid for. Our guests were hassled and felt they were kicked out abruptly. We intend to pursue legal action. Some of our guests were even told by the front desk that there was no wedding there that day and that they were in the wrong place. I have never encountered such poor staff communication and incompetence in my life. Save yourself the tears and go somewhere else.
