Whitby Castle is a luxurious wedding venue located in Westchester County in Rye, New York. Situated on a serene golf course, this impressive castle features a striking resemblance to the original Whitby Abbey in England. This Lessing’s Hospitality Group venue sits on 126 acres and offers both indoor and outdoor settings for your ceremony and reception. Whitby Castle prides itself on its perfectly manicured lawns, breathtaking views of the Long Island Sound, and elegant event rooms.
Facilities and Capacity
Couples can accommodate up to 250 guests at this mansion-style wedding venue. Initially built in 1852, this breathtaking castle will transport couples and their guests back in time with its eye-catching decors and design. It boasts striking architectural elements and even possesses some of the original stones from its ancestor Whitby Abbey. Soon-to-be newlyweds can exchange vows beneath a simple arch in front of the castle before sipping on cocktails on the outdoor patio where gorgeous views of Milton Harbor are visible. Moving inside the castle, newlyweds can enter the grandiose ballroom for their wedding reception. The space features both traditional and contemporary decoration, adding a timeless chic ambience to the space. For more intimate gatherings, Whitby Castle can host couples in one of their other private reception rooms.

The professional and friendly staff at Whitby Castle will strive to ensure you and your loved ones are treated like royalty. An in-house event coordinator is by your side throughout the planning process, working tirelessly to take care of every detail. The on-site restaurant offers delicious catering packages for weddings and special occasions, along with comprehensive bar services. Tables, Chiavari chairs, dance floors, linens, flatware, and glassware are all included in the main package. Additionally, the venue can provide couples with a detailed list of vendor recommendations for photography, florals, and entertainment. Valet parking and wedding cakes are also managed by the company.
Cuisine
Couples can customize their wedding menus to suit their individual tastes and budgets. Every menu is tailored to your exact specifications, with options available for cocktail hour appetizers, a Champagne reception, and seated reception dinner. The kitchen can arrange and design exotic fruit displays, buffets with cheese and fresh vegetables, butler-passed hors d'oeuvres, and entree stations. Sample entrees include free-range chicken breast with honey-balsamic glaze, miso-glazed mahi-mahi, New York strip steaks, and Syrah-braised short ribs.

Must book if you want a fairytale ending
Some key players who ensured our wedding was a fairytale:
Niki is the catering sales rep, who we communicated with throughout the process and up until our wedding. We loved how responsive she was and always so kind (even if it was just through email). She answered all of our questions promptly and was never pushy.
Ralph is the operations manager who we worked with a few weeks before our wedding. He is detailed and efficient- logistically, he made sure the timeline and ceremony details were perfect.
On the actual day of our wedding, Gabriel was our Maitre’D and Roxy was my bridal attendant. They were both simply godsend. Gabriel has a calm and natural demeanor; and Roxy is a bada** woman (I mean it in a good way)- when they saw how one of my vendors was making me incredibly anxious and flustered with their blatant unprofessionalism, they would step in and provide (and act on) reassurance that we didn’t have to do anything that I didn’t want to do. They consistently made sure to check in and made sure we were okay. I don’t know what I would have done with Gabriel and Roxy.
And finally, the entire staff. My guests still share with me how kind the staff was throughout the wedding and how they were treated like family. Also, the FOOD! My guests consistently raved how the food was just incredible and far exceeded any expectations.

Absolutely Perfect Day!
Booking was straightforward and easy thanks to Ralph and Niki. On the day of the wedding, Roxy and Rosa kept everything moving exactly on schedule. Their coordination ensured that we didn't have to worry about the timeline, and the entire event ran smoothly from start to finish.
The food was a major highlight. The chef did an excellent job, and the quality was consistent across every course. He personally talked to each of our guests as well. Our guests were genuinely impressed—we’re still getting compliments about the meal months later, which speaks for itself.
We chose to use their vendor package and were very happy with that decision. It significantly simplified the planning process, and the results were exactly what we had hoped for.
Overall, Whitby Castle delivered a fantastic day. It’s a beautiful spot, but the service and the kitchen are what really set it apart. Highly recommended.

Sweet Sixteen. On August 28 we had my daughter sweet sixteen party and I can’t thank you enough for the amazing job you guys did. We were so happy with everything, the food was amazing my family and friends are still talking about the beautiful place and the delicious food. I would like to thank everyone but specially to Maitre D’ Mr. Gabriel and his staff for the remarkable work they did. They were kind and helpful. Also I would like to thank the owner of the Whitby Castle for letting my photographer use his car to take pictures of my daughter on his car. Big thank you
