We had a dream wedding at Whitby Castle, and it truly exceeded every expectation. From the very first planning meeting with Niki, to the final dance, - every detail was executed with elegance and care.

Our Maitre d’, Ralph, was simply outstanding. He went above and beyond, treating our wedding as if it were his own. His responsiveness throughout the planning process and his calm, attentive presence on the day itself made all the difference. He anticipated our needs before we even voiced them and ensured everything ran seamlessly.

The food was delicious, and the flow between the ceremony and reception spaces felt natural and beautifully orchestrated. The entire team was incredibly accommodating—happily allowing us early access to set up personal touches and handling every request with a smile.

Both Ralph and Niki are true gems and made our experience unforgettable.

If you’re looking for a stunning, well-run wedding venue with a team that genuinely cares, I cannot recommend Whitby Castle highly enough. It was the perfect setting for the most important day of our lives.

We had a great experience hosting our wedding at Whitby Castle. From the initial planning stages to the day itself, everything was handled with a high level of professionalism.

Booking was straightforward and easy thanks to Ralph and Niki. On the day of the wedding, Roxy and Rosa kept everything moving exactly on schedule. Their coordination ensured that we didn't have to worry about the timeline, and the entire event ran smoothly from start to finish.

The food was a major highlight. The chef did an excellent job, and the quality was consistent across every course. He personally talked to each of our guests as well. Our guests were genuinely impressed—we’re still getting compliments about the meal months later, which speaks for itself.

We chose to use their vendor package and were very happy with that decision. It significantly simplified the planning process, and the results were exactly what we had hoped for.

Overall, Whitby Castle delivered a fantastic day. It’s a beautiful spot, but the service and the kitchen are what really set it apart. Highly recommended.

Not only does Whitby Castle have the most beautiful ballroom, but the staff is amazing. Communication was on point from the beginning. Niki was so responsive and helpful throughout the whole process. When it came to wedding day logistics, Ralph was amazingggg. He was so responsive and on the day of the wedding, he (and staff) took care of EVERYTHING. The best staff!!! I have lived in the Westchester area most of my life, but I had never heard of Whitby Castle until I saw it tagged on Instagram a couple years before I started wedding planning. I’m a romantic person, so the “castle” aspect of it really appealed to me, and they were the first venue I looked up once we started planning, and was the only venue we toured before booking it a day after we first saw it. I just knew I wanted to get married there as soon as I saw it, and I am SO happy we made that somewhat snap decision. It felt like this venue was tailor-made for us, and at every single moment of planning, they made us feel special. Niki is warm and organized and always quick to reply to my questions over email, and our meeting with Ralph the maitre’d was a masterclass in client services. He made us laugh, he was so warm and accommodating, and just made us feel like he really loved his job, and didn’t treat us like “just another wedding.” On the day of, everything went off without a hiccup on their part, despite us running a little behind schedule. At Whitby, they do their rehearsals day of, because they’re a high-volume event space. My rehearsal was about an hour before the ceremony, and I have never known a ceremony to run smoother. Ralph was, again, just funny and warm and organized and incredibly effective. I felt like I was in such good hands. My guests were very impressed with the space, and especially the food. We come from picky, high-standard families when it comes to food, and even the pickiest guests on our guest list complimented us personally on the food, and we didn’t even have to pick the highest-price entrees or the fanciest stations or hors d’ouevres to have gotten that feedback. The room is not overly-adorned (which is what we wanted) and is elegant in its romantic simplicity. They even accommodated an earlier start time without question or extra charge, and I loved that they had Chiavari chairs as their standard, and an in-house bakery that was absolutely delicious. I really got the wedding of my dreams.

We got married here this past week on 5/1/25, and I don't think there are enough nice things I can say about Whitby Castle. Niki and Ralph made everything so unbelievably easy for us the entire time from booking to the days after our wedding. Roxy was my bridal attendant, and she made sure my husband and I were never without a drink. They brought all our cocktail-hour food upstairs for us so we could eat in peace and relax. Niki was so easy to communicate with for the entirety of the planning process. Every single question we asked of Ralph, who doubled as our maître d’, got answered and was perfect. We had so much fun at our reception, and it was so helpful to have Ralph there guiding and directing us every step of the way. It was so easy to coordinate dropping off and picking up all of our decor the week of the wedding. There were so many details, which can be overwhelming on your wedding, but with Roxy, Ralph, and Niki (and the entirety of the staff!!) everything was so seamless and like a well oiled machine. I am so unbelievably appreciative of everyone at this venue and cannot recommend Whitby Castle enough!!

The bridal suite upstairs was ideal for getting ready, setting the tone for the magical day ahead. Even the process of picking up our belongings the following day was seamless. The staff had everything neatly packed and ready for us, which was such a thoughtful touch.

From start to finish, Whitby Castle exceeded our expectations in every way. We genuinely don’t have a single complaint—just endless gratitude for making our wedding day unforgettable!

I had my daughter's bridal shower at Whitby castle. It was perfect and exactly what we were looking for. We got lots of comments about how beautiful the venue is and lots of complements about the delicious food. We did a Sunday brunch. The menu options were plentiful and there was something for everyone. We booked with Yasmin. She was a pleasure to work with. A shout out to Nikki who helped us out with some questions as well. The day of the event ran smoothly thanks to the professional staff. From the servers to the bartenders, everyone was wonderful. Our maitre d was Rosa and I cannot say enough good things about her. She was incredibly helpful right from the start. I was very impressed with how she kept everything running smoothly. She was available for any questions or requests. She even helped me pack up some things at the end of the party. Not only was she extremely helpful, she was very friendly and made me feel at ease. I recommend Whitby Castle for any special event.

Whitby Castle is an absolutely charming, timeless and beautiful place where we held our reception. The whole team is so professional and responsive. From the start, Niki was highly communicative and very kind. She answered all of my (millions of) questions with patience and grace. Ralph the operations director was absolutely stellar and worked with his team to bring all my visions to life. Roxy, my BFF, is the best bridal attendant I could have dreamed of. Every single staff member did not stop smiling all night, they all made us and all of our guests feel so welcome and at home at the castle. The food was amazing and we got so many compliments from guests about the vast spread during the cocktail hour. We would recommend Whitby Castle again and again. Go check it out you won’t regret it!!!

Very professional. Super accommodating, we had to make so many changes and they were so open and willing to do all of the changes. Such a beautiful and amazing venue to host a wedding. I highly recommend checking them out as well as visiting their wedding showcases in the winter and fall!

Whitby was the perfect choice for our wedding! Our MC Gabriel was amazing, Nikki was amazing, Rosa was amazing and all the staff that diligently work there have truly honed their craft. Our wedding day was memorable and so beautiful. We are so thankful to this team for a forever magical memory!!

We cannot thank Whitby enough for helping plan and executing our dream wedding. My husband and I planned our wedding from LA, but the amazing and meticulous staff at Whitby made it so easy to plan a wedding from the other side of the country. From day 1, Niki made our vision feel heard and worked with our budget to make our dream happen. Along the way, everyone who heard we were getting married at Whitby had nothing but amazing things to say about the food. Even the staff during our tasting was so extremely friendly and won my parents over with their service and AMAZING food and portions. Everyone at the wedding raved about the food and the cake! From the second we spoke with Ralph on the phone we knew we were in the best of hands and were so happy when he was able to be our Maitre’D for the day of. He was extremely flexible, kept everything running smoothly (even when photo was behind schedule) and was just what we needed so that we didn’t have to worry about any finer details the day of. Our bridal attendant was also an angel and kept us fed and hydrated the day of - I seriously ate too much food which is the opposite of what everyone says. Whitby will always have a special place in our heart and for the price and service I seriously couldn’t recommend anywhere else ❤️

My husband and I tied the knot at Whitby Castle in July 2024, and it was the best decision we could have made! We had been to a wedding there before, which was absolutely beautiful and put the venue on our radar. We checked out several other strong contenders in the area, but Whitby Castle stole our hearts.

Our first meeting with Niki on a chilly January day sealed the deal. Her genuine and caring nature shone through, and it was clear she was dedicated to making our day perfect. Niki was incredibly responsive to all of our many questions leading up to the big day, which was a lifesaver given the short six months we had to plan. As the bride, I felt an instant connection with Niki, especially when she shared that she also got married at Whitby. Her warmth and sincerity played a huge role in our decision and made planning as stress-free as possible.

Then there was Ralph, our amazing maître d’. He was fantastic to work with in the months leading up to the wedding and on the big day itself. Ralph’s professionalism and dedication were evident in every conversation, and he went above and beyond to bring our vision for the big day to life.

Rosa, the bridal attendant, was an absolute gem. Detail-oriented, warm, and friendly, she helped keep everything on track and made sure we stayed on schedule. Together with Ralph, Rosa ensured everything ran smoothly on the big day.

Our wedding ceremony was beautifully set up outside in front of the Castle on a hot July day. The stunning outdoor space, complete with a picturesque willow tree where we had our first look photos, added to the magic of the day. Despite the heat, the venue's reliable indoor AC ensured our reception was comfortable, and we are happy to report it worked perfectly.

We couldn't have asked for a better team or a more perfect venue. Thank you, Whitby Castle, for making our day so magical!

My partner and I got married in March 2024 on a Saturday afternoon at Whitby Castle in Rye, NY, and it was better than we ever could have imagined thanks to the breathtaking venue and all of the amazing managers and staff at Whitby.

My partner and I looked at about 10 wedding venues in the Tri-state area before finding Whitby Castle, and the minute we saw it, we knew we had to get married there. It blew all of the other venues out of the water, in so many distinctive facets. The first thing that brought us to Whitby was the gorgeous castle and grounds (flawlessly manicured lawns right on Rye Golf club and striking views of the Long Island Sound), and how the venue provided a plethora of accommodations for whatever season or weather you may have on your wedding day. The next thing that brought us in was the wedding package they offered for dates outside of the wedding season (ours was the end of March). The wedding package included everything we needed, outside of a few upgrades we added on later, and was the best price for all of the options we got. We could not find a better price anywhere for the number of options, vendors or amenities that their wedding package contained.

Before ultimately deciding on Whitby Castle as our wedding venue, we attended their quarterly wedding showcase that provided samplings of all of the cocktail hour foods the venue provides, as well as the ability to meet a ton of potential vendors for all of the other factors of the wedding weekend. The showcase event was excellent and not something we saw any other venue provide. It gave us a one-stop shop to help find our vendors, and even better that it was vendors that work at Whitby on a regular basis. Additionally, the cocktail hour food was delicious, and we knew the entrées and other course options were going to be even better. After we saw all of this, we knew for certain that Whitby was our venue, and it only got better from here.

We booked Whitby Castle as our venue over a year before the wedding date and from our first meeting with Niki, the Catering Sales Manager at Whitby, we knew we had without a doubt made the right choice. Niki handled just about everything with the venue throughout the process including catering, vendors, amenities and all of the options available to us through Whitby. Niki took the time to get to know us and offered a wide variety of options for the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception, as well as anything else we were thinking of. Niki thoroughly explained the numerous elements to consider when planning our wedding, what we did or did not need, or what we may have missed or forgot, and she helped us get to where we needed to be in the planning process. Since our first meeting with Niki, she made us feel as if she genuinely cared about us and our wedding (because she did), as well as the different ideas we had.

We worked with Niki for over a year and half, and she made everything so easy for us during that time. Niki managed all of these points with us until it was time to meet with the operations manager and maître d', which happens around a month before the wedding day. We would later meet with the Operations Manager, Ralph, about three weeks before the wedding day and he was just as awesome. Ralph had all of the particulars laid out for every aspect of our wedding and provided a comprehensive timeline and wedding plan to us. Niki and Ralph were not only incredibly professional and knowledgeable, but also exceedingly responsive and accommodating to what we needed and wanted for our wedding. Niki and Ralph were both always accessible throughout the entire process when helping us manage, coordinate and deliver our ideal wedding. They also made the process of meeting and maintaining communication with them easy and convenient.

Since we booked our wedding 18 months in advance for the end of March, we had no idea what weather we were going to have, but it was honestly not even the slightest of our concerns because of how Whitby operates for their weddings. They have complete, and actually functional, outdoor heating throughout the lovely and immense wraparound patio that hosted much of our cocktail hour, despite the weather being in high 50s, low 60 degrees. We had wonderful sun on the morning of our wedding, but it was a little windy and our ceremony would be on the colder side in the afternoon. We did not want to make our guests sit in the cold, so we had an indoor wedding, and it was beyond stunning. The magnificent arch windows through the reception hall gave us astonishing light and scenic views for the ceremony. This also allowed us to get pictures outside, in front of the impressive castle, but also inside the venue in some of their many charming and pristine event rooms, such as the piano room.

Another terrific part about Whitby’s wedding operations was that regardless of whatever weather was expected, they set up for both options, to have our wedding inside or outside. Additionally, Ralph and our maître d', Gabriel, said we had up to an hour before the ceremony start time to decide what we wanted. We thought this was greatly advantageous and valuable, especially considering how unpredictable the weather can be. Some venues tend to have multiple weddings to maximize their space, but we certainly appreciated that the Whitby Castle team treated us as the main event. In addition to the astounding views and spectacular customer service, the entrées and various food courses on our wedding day were outstanding. I am not sure which our guests raved about more, the delectable food or marvelous views. There was nothing not to love on our special day.

My partner also had nothing but phenomenal things to say about Rosa, the bridal attendant at Whitby. Rosa was exceptionally attentive and enormously helpful throughout the entire day, and made my partner even more relaxed. Whether it was during the planning process or the wedding day, Niki, Ralph, Gabriel and Rosa were all so extremely organized and prepared for every possible scenario or situation. Their initiative and attention to detail throughout the process was particularly reassuring and allowed my partner and I to focus on other parts of the wedding, and be excited for our big day rather than being stressed or worried. When it came to coordinating the drop-off and pick-up of all of the decor for the wedding, as well for planning how our guests would arrive to the venue, via shuttles or valet, the Whitby team made everything simple and practical, permitting us to worry about a few less items throughout the weekend.

There were so many moving parts and minute details involved in our wedding day, but our maître d' Gabriel was so on top of everything. My partner and I had a lot of specifics for what we wanted for our wedding in regards to the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception, but Ralph, Gabriel and the Whitby staff covered it all. They included everything we asked for and more, and made it a day to remember. Throughout the entire day the service was impeccable, not only for my partner and I, but for all of our wedding guests. All of the Whitby staff were tremendously kind and helpful.

So many of our guests told us how not only was it the most beautiful and fun wedding they have ever been to, but maybe even the best party. Whitby Castle, as a venue and their team, gave us the perfect wedding, far better than we ever could have dreamed. We really cannot say enough great things about Whitby Castle, the management team or their staff. They were all remarkable and the venue is extraordinary. It is truthfully the best wedding venue we have ever seen. We absolutely could not have been happier with our wedding, and we know it was all because of the venue and their fantastic team. We very highly recommend Whitby Castle in Rye, NY as your wedding venue!

Niki and Ralph were super easy to work with! The venue was beautiful and all our guests were raving about the food!

We wish we could give Whitby Castle more than five stars.!We just had our wedding there, and it exceeded even our highest hopes and expectations. Niki and Ralph were incredibly warm, responsive, courteous, and professional, from the contract to the moment we drove off at the end of the reception.

The food was exceptionally good, and it was plentiful. They also offered us a few extra food offerings (a couple special appetizers, a sundae bar with all the toppings you could ever want, donuts and apple cider that guests could take as they left, etc.) that were not at all expensive, and we got so many compliments from everyone for them. The whole event ran smoothly thanks to Ralph's work orchestrating it the whole afternoon and evening, and their server staff were also very professional and on the ball.

To say we feel we got our money's worth is an understatement, and we took advantage of the long holiday weekend to have our event on a Thursday, at a discounted price and with a lower minimum of attendees. We can't list the myriad little details offered by Whitby Castle that made the whole thing easier and more affordable than expected.

We were able to relax, savor the moment, and enjoy our day with all of our friends and family. We cannot recommend Whitby Castle enough. Thank you, Niki and Ralph!

Everything about Whitby Castle was perfect. From the planning with Nikki to the actual night with Ralph, everything went smoothly. The food was amazing and the drinks were great! The day went perfectly and everyone made sure we had the best day. I cannot recommend enough for the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception.

The event team at Whitby was so good to my husband and I and really made our day so special. They listened to our every concern and need and met it without hesitation. We just got married at Whitby Castle and not only loved working with the staff (shoutout to Ralph and Niki) but it was the perfect backdrop for our fairytale wedding. Lucky enough to have a perfect May day, we got married on the lawn out front, cocktails on the back patio, and a double ballroom reception. The food and service was on point, Ralph and my wedding planner (Kelli Teglas) worked in perfect sync and the whole event went off without a hitch!

My husband and I got married at Whitby Castle on May 26, 2023 and it was one of the best decisions we’ve ever made! For anyone looking for the venue of their dreams, don’t walk…. RUN to Whitby Castle, I promise you won’t be sorry! We had a short list of venues to tour, but then we found Whitby and we knew we had found the ‘perfect’ place for our wedding (it was the first and only place we visited!) Whitby offers with so many ‘perks’ and helped make the planning process extremely simple, while remaining extremely affordable – it’s truly a hidden gem!
From the first email contact through the end of our reception, the staff, service, and overall event coordination and flexibility was nothing short of amazing.
HUGE shout out to Niki, Ralph, and Roxy for being such superstars – wedding planning and our special day would not have been the same without you! Niki was extremely responsive, friendly, and patient in answering all our questions and so accommodating as we sorted out various details leading up to the event. Ralph was our maitre d’/main point of contact and was amazing. He helped coordinate final details, managed the timeline of events and was so accommodating with last minute changes. Finally, I don’t know what I would’ve done without my bridal attendant, Roxy. She went above and beyond to help keep me stress-free and was always available to assist with anything we needed throughout the evening.

Niki, Ralph, and all the staff were absolutely incredible. From the planning stages to the actual wedding day, everyone made things incredibly easy and seamless. Niki and Ralph made sure all of our needs/questions/concerns were thoroughly addressed prior to the day so that on our wedding day we just had to show up and enjoy everything! I got ready at Whitby that morning and I would highly recommend - we easily got in and we had plenty of space for all of our dresses / hair and makeup / and relaxing. Not to mention the beautiful room and lighting as a backdrop for our getting ready photos! Then after we returned from our wedding ceremony (at an offsite church) everything I had dropped off earlier in the week was perfectly set up so all we had to do was enjoy some drinks / snacks and get to taking our pictures. We even got to enjoy a little of cocktail hour! All of our guests were incredibly impressed with all aspects of the venue from start to finish. The castle itself was great and guests loved the different rooms and patio (which was warm and enjoyed by many guests despite being 30 degrees and raining outside). The food was amazing - guests loved the comfort food station, so many passed hors d’oeuvres, beautiful salads and dinner, and delicious Italian cookies and cake. The staff was so attentive and professional. All we can say is 1000/10 experience - I am so glad we booked Whitby Castle for our wedding!! Best day ever!

My daughter wanted her sweet 16 at the Whitby after a dear friend had her bridal shower and we had Easter brunch. It was her first and only choice. We worked with Yasmin. She was very helpful, understanding, and had great attention to detail. She answered numerous questions, emails, and gave us her professional opinions. Everyone at the The Whitby went above and beyond! The room we had was beautiful. The set up was gorgeous, stunning!! My guests raved about how stunning driving up to and walking into the cattle was ! The food!!! The food was amazing! Absolutely delicious!!! From the cocktail hour to the dinner! The set up was beautiful! Our guests kept talking about the food! Not only was the cake delicious it was stunning! My daughter had a picture of a cake and they replicated it perfectly!!!!! My daughter was so thankful. She said her night was perfect!!

Whitby Castle gave my husband and I the wedding of our dreams. The space - STUNNING. The food - INCREDIBLE and ABUNDANT (everyone raved at how the steak was cooked perfectly). It was a perfect event from the moment we toured to the day we said I Do. Niki and Ralph were so attentive. Seriously, Nikki answered my emails within minutes and Ralph was the perfect day of coordinator. Run to book Whitby.

The experience at Whitby castle was absolutely magical. The venue is extremely beautiful and picturesque but what you don’t see when you visit the venue is the impact of the staff, the yummy food and of course the incredible manager and maitre D Niki Viera will have to ensure that your wedding is an elevated experience beyond what you even dreamed. Niki Viera gave me the wedding of a lifetime by being attentive, very responsive via email, so accommodating and also she anticipated my needs and kept us on schedule. Honestly she was so easy to work with and her organized and calm nature helped reset my own energy even in times where I felt stressed. She always made it possible to accommodate our additional requests. It was amazing to have continuity in having niki help us with our wedding needs prior to the wedding and to have her support us on the actual day of our wedding as well. I had the absolute best day of my life, marrying my best friend. Niki, Rosa and the Whitby castle team played a huge role in making this all happen! Thank you is an understatement! I will be forever be grateful for all you did for us Niki, and for the Whitby team!!!

Niki and Ralph were the most amazing team that made our wedding day INCREDIBLE. Niki was extremely helpful throughout the whole process. She was easy to work with and met any requests we may have had. Ralph was absolutely amazing the day of the wedding. We believe everything went smoothly because he had his eyes on everything. Part of what made the day memorable was Ralph and his personality. Our families loved him and we can’t imagine a better team and nicer people to work with for such an event in one’s life. We received so many compliments on how everything was put together and ran. We honestly could say that we went into the day with no worries or stress because everything was handled.

As for the venue, it was an absolute dream to get married at the Whitby. The food tasting was spectacular. We received full portions of each entree that we chose and the quality and taste was just as good if not better the day of our wedding. The skirt steak was beyond amazing! We were lucky enough to get married on the lawn with the beautiful view of the castle. Everything was set up just the way we wanted. Cocktail hour was beautifully done outside on the patio with views of the golf course.

Last but not least, we wanted to give a special shout out to our bridal attendant Rosa. She held my dress and made it look good right before I walked down the aisle and even bustled it for me in the middle of cocktail hour. She went above and beyond and we really appreciated her kindness and hard work.

If looking for a seamless, affordable, DELICIOUS and completely luxurious wedding experience - look no further than Whitby. I cannot recommend this venue and the staff who work here enough.

A week ago today we enjoyed the royal wedding of our dreams. It was the most incredible and insanely special day and not at all by accident! Since choosing Whitby as our venue for its connection with Whitby / Whitby Abbey in the UK (my husband is British) - Niki, Gabriel, Ralph, Rosa and Leanna all played a part in helping us ensure everything we wanted, we had.

I had chosen at the start of our wedding planning process to organize all elements myself. Only hiring a DJ / live sax, jazz quartet for cocktail hour, photographer and videographer - I did the rest myself... no planner, no florist, nada. And so over the course of the past 15 months, while working I created centerpieces, floral arches and pooled together all the decor we used to turn Whitby into OUR castle for the day.

Managing a majority of the planning myself was hard work - but the Whitby dream team made it easy... answering ALL my questions by e-mail and working with us on all fronts to ensure our day considered everything important to us. Every single ask they found a solution for. And I mean EVERY ASK. From ensuring the outside flower pots contained beautiful fresh flowers, reviewing our timeline queries, and welcoming us each and every time we popped in sometimes just to say hello when I was in town from London (!) - through to accommodating our schedules for my wedding decor drop off, set up and pickup, allowing our darling dog to stay in the Grooms room during our reception so she could take part in photos, shlepping us around with their golf cart and bringing beers / drinks to us during photos... my God. And the list goes on!

The tremendous and genuine effort they made for us was truly outstanding and was worth every penny. From day one, they all as a team made my family, husband and I feel so cared about which to me is worth its weight in gold. We were not yet another Whitby wedding on your roster, but THE Colonna Grout Whitby Wedding.

So if this venue is even remotely up your ally, don't hesitate. BOOK IT! The service, the FOOD, the ambience and cost cannot be rivaled. And having scoured a majority of venues across the Hudson valley and Connecticut I can assure you - there is no better place to have your special day!

My wife and I got married on 04/23/22 and had the most exceptional wedding experience. For starters we had to postpone our wedding twice because of COVID, Whitby was exceedingly accommodating of this and honored our original contract throughout the process. The staff at Whitby are exceptional, Niki was extremely responsive throughout the whole process. Ralph was fun and energetic, he made sure the entire night went according to plan and that we didn't have to worry about a single thing. The food was exceptional and the castle itself is stunning. Could not have more positive things to say about this venue

From the moment my husband and I stepped into Whitby Castle and met with Niki, we immediately felt at ease. We had a sense of relief and excitement all mixed in one--we had found our venue! We knew it instantly. The venue and the grounds are absolutely stunning. The fact that it's an actual castle built in the 1800s is amazing. You truly feel as if you are in England, far away from everything. Our guests are raving about the INCREDIBLE food from start to finish (the Chef is SO sweet and talented), the magic and romance of the day, the flawless team running it all--RALPH, our maitre d', was simply fantastic. He kept us on track the entire night. He's fun and personable, yet professional, and you can tell he has done this a million times--but still enjoys every moment. My Bridal Attendant Stefanie was absolutely God sent. We had the most perfect day, straight out of a movie. We were beyond elated to see our dreams come true. Everything you can think of--communication, help, professionalism, incredible food, gorgeous views, countless photo opportunities, generosity, talented & friendly staff, and a stunning place to get married--is found at Whitby Castle.

My husband and I had our wedding at Whitby Castle on 3/19/22 and we couldn't be happier with our decision. From when we first met with Niki in October 2020 through our wedding, the staff was always prepared and professional. Whitby has all the options and answers to all of your questions and the staff pay great attention to detail. They met and exceeded our needs and always with a smile on their faces. Niki and Ralph work together like a well-oiled machine. The chef, Fernando, cooks with such love and care that you could taste it through his food and was enjoyed by all of our guests. Everything was artful while also delicious. Gabriel was so attentive to us during our tasting and the whole night of our wedding to make sure we were always happy. Gabriel's smile can only be met with more smiles. We loved the space which has such natural beauty that you need not worry about budgeting for anything else. You're not going to find another castle, on a golf course, on the Sound ever. This is the one. It's beautiful, the staff is excellent, and you'll be happy with your decision to have your wedding or other event at Whitby. Everything about our experience at Whitby exceeded our expectations. Niki was so professional, friendly and responsive from our first visit to the castle. Omicron started spiking about 2 weeks before our wedding and Niki went above and beyond to accommodate last-minute changes to our event. Ralph was fantastic and made sure that every day of detail was coordinated down to the minute. He was so organized and made sure that everything ran smoothly. Ralph is so professional and the night was executed perfectly because of his attention to detail. Our guests are still raving about the quality and quantity of the food and were so impressed by the service, from the waitstaff to the bartenders. Every staff member at Whitby was so friendly and accommodating to all of our guests and added a personal touch that made the night so special. From the beginning my husband and I knew that we wanted to get married at a unique and beautiful venue that was like none of the other typical catering halls we saw in the NY/Westchester area . As soon as we walked into the Whitby Castle we knew that this was the place that we were going to get married at! From initial planning all the way through to our tasting and day of set up the entire Whitby Castle staff (special shout out to Niki, Ralph and Will!) truly exceeded our expectations for the most amazing wedding day we could ask for. There are so many unique and special touches to this venue and it’s set up that it truly felt like we were at our home hosting our friends and family celebrating our wedding. We were able to utilize the back wraparound porch for our cocktail hour even on an early November night with heating lamps and the unique flow of the food stations allowed for each of our guests to truly take in all of the sights. Our guests have all raved about the food including every cocktail hour station that was served including some picky family members and specifically some had mentioned that they’ve never had such a fresh and hot meal served at a wedding before. Ralph truly brought the whole night together and worked with our DJ to coordinate each point of the night. He also was able to seamlessly set up all of the decor that we brought in (& we definitely brought a lot) - I know some other venues are hesitant to do that so we really appreciated the extra touch. The Whitby is such a picturesque location conveniently located off major highways in the area for ease of transportation- which our out of state guests appreciated. Overall we could not have asked for a more amazing day and wedding venue from start to finish and truly would do it all over again in a heartbeat! Thank you so much to Whitby Castle staff !!!

… No but seriously! From the beginning stages of setting up a tour till the day after the wedding. Every person who works at Whitby Castle is incredible!!! Niki & Ralph are the best you will get! Responsive, informative, relatable, fun, knowledgeable!!! I can’t say enough of how much they did for us leading up to and day of wedding. The day of staff was incredibly friendly, engaging and attentive they did not miss a beat! Alll of our guest complimented how amazing the food was, how friendly the staff was, and how incredibly gorgeous the venue was!!! You absolutely will not be disappointed here!

Just had my daughter’s Wedding at Whitby Castle and it was remarkable. Perfect in every aspect of the word. They could not have been more accommodating, the food was delicious from the hors d'oeuvres to the dessert and everything in-between, fabulous! Top notch food, gorgeous venue and the service was terrific. So very happy we were able to have our special event at such a wonderful magical place. The kind that usually only dreams are made of!

Anyone can see that the Whitby Castle is a beautiful wedding venue but what truly makes it so incredible is the staff. Being a COVID bride I worked with Niki for over 2 years on my wedding. Her patience and commitment to giving us the perfect day was so appreciated.

When it came to final details and day of organizing Ralph was absolutely amazing. He make sure me and my husband were where we needed to be when we needed to be there, made sure we did miss an ounce of food or fun. Everyone was so impressed with the timing of the evening. I don't think my wedding would've been so amazing without Rose (bridal attendant), Ralph, and Niki's hard work.

We just had our dream wedding at Whitby Castle on October 30, 2021. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Nikki and Ralph were both extremely helpful, answered questions in a timely manner and brought our vision to life. We continue to receive the best compliments from our guests. I got married at Whitby last month and I can’t recommend them enough. The whole process was so easy, and they were so accommodating even with all the unplanned changes due to the pandemic. Niki was so helpful with all the coordination - super responsive and a pleasure to work with. Ralph was amazing to work with, so fun and so professional. Himself and the entire staff ensured everything went smoothly, not one thing went wrong. The set-up and decor was better than I imagined and everyone raved about the venue and the food.

My husband and I got married on July 29, 2021 at The Whitby Castle and it was perfect! Ralph and Niki were fantastic and made sure the night was amazing. Ralph is such a pro at what he does. He made sure that things ran smoothly and there was never a moment where I felt like I needed to do something myself, everything was already done, even before I had to ask. Our guests are still raving over the night, a week later. I would absolutely pick The Whitby Castle if you are looking for a place that is completely organized and wants to make your night perfect!

The Whitby Castle was the perfect venue for our June 11th wedding! We had to postpone our original wedding date, and Niki Viera, the Catering Sales Manager, did a fantastic job working with us to secure a new date and provide timely updates along the way. Niki communicated with us frequently, was always available, and answered every question under the sun. For us, the Whitby Castle delivered on everything we wanted for our wedding venue. Beautiful grounds, an outdoor cocktail hour setting, a large ballroom with plenty of natural light, high ceilings, and a very large dance floor separate from the dining area, and of course, outstanding food. The menu was very important to us, and we were even allowed a second tasting to improve on selections and get things right. Our guests raved about the food at the cocktail hour, during the sit-down dinner, and even the cake, cookies and to go donuts! We started working with Ralph Bracco, the operations manager, a month or so before the wedding, and WOW is he amazing. Just a very nice person, so easy to work with, really listened to us and was extremely well prepared. He was everywhere the night of the wedding and had every last detail under control. He does an incredible job. A million times over we would pick the Whitby Castle and Lessing's Hospitality Group. It was the best day of our lives!

Whitby Castle is nothing short of incredible. With all the craziness of COVID, they were super flexible and accommodating. The GM, Maitre'D and Bridal Attendant were all amazing. They took care of us all day and made sure we had anything we needed. The venue is gorgeous and the grounds are very well cared for. The lawn with the castle in the background is the perfect setting for a ceremony. The ballroom is very spacious with plenty of room to dance, and the deck is perfect for cocktail hour. Our guests absolutely loved the venue. Lastly, the food is SPECTACULAR! I kept hearing this, and I can assure you that they live up to all the rave. If you are looking for a fairytale venue, this is it!

We could not have had a better experience at Whitby Castle. Everyone who worked there went above and beyond to make sure our day was beautiful. Our livestream wasn't working right before the wedding, and Ralph Bracco, the operations manager, offered to let us try on his personal laptop. Ralph also offered to move our flower arch from the ceremony space to behind our sweetheart table — he didn't have to do that, but he realized it would be nice and jumped on the opportunity. And when we said we'd like to do a few sparklers at our exit, he said he had a few extra-long ones he'd be happy to give us. These were a few of the small ways he went above and beyond what he had to do. On top of that, he was charming with our families, and everyone loved him. My bridal attendant made sure I had everything I needed throughout the day. She was incredibly sweet and attentive. Niki helped us throughout planning. She was totally accommodating, helpful and kind. She even understood and handled it with grace when we thought we might have to cancel the wedding due to COVID. She, and everyone at Whitby, was sensitive and supportive in helping us take COVID precautions. We couldn't have had a better experience, and frankly, I've been procrastinating this review simply because I knew I couldn't do it justice. We're incredibly thankful and will never forget the wonderful service we had on our wedding. And by the way — the venue is gorgeous and the food is good.

Whitby Castle gave me and my husband the wedding of our dreams! First off, they have been amazing to work with through the pandemic. We originally were supposed to get married in July 2020 and postponed to April 2021. The staff couldn’t have been more accommodating and understanding throughout the whole process. Fast forward to the big day and everything was PERFECT. Big shout out to Ralph and Rosa for making the day easy and beautiful. We got so many compliments from our guests about how beautiful the venue was, how attentive the staff was, and how good the food was!
We originally picked Whitby for the beautiful venue, massive menu options and affordability and we are so pleased we did. Trust me, you will not regret booking your wedding here!!

My wedding was everything I dreamt of. The whole staff at Whitby Castle was great. The food was so good and the wedding cake came out beautifully. Niki was amazing she made the whole process of planning the wedding there very easy. Niki was very helpful with any questions/concerns myself and my future husband had. The day of the wedding Sean was very nice I let him know the day of I really wanted my ceremony outside and he had everything all set up for that. Sean was very helpful and kept everything on track. Anything I needed or my future husband needed Sean helped and was really nice . Rosa was also amazing. She helped me with my dress and anything I needed. Rosa is so sweet and is absolutely astounding. I highly recommend having your wedding here. It was really like a fairytale!

To put it simply, every interaction we had with Whitby from the day we first visited the venue to the day of our wedding – whether via e-mail, phone or in-person – was a pleasure. Whitby (and Niki!) were always responsive, communicated clearly, and treated us kindly. The venue is stunning with so much natural light – a true rarity among the area’s indoor venues. The food is also delicious – all our guests were raving about it! At the end of the day, we had a very different wedding than we initially planned due to the ongoing pandemic – the fact that we can honestly say that our special day was everything we hoped for and more despite the change of plans is in a large part due to Whitby and their outstanding service. We would make the same decision again without question!

I had my wedding there on 03/27/21. In the middle of a global pandemic, The Whitby still made all my dreams come true. The venue itself is GORGEOUS. The food is absolutely amazing. All of my guests were in awe of how beautiful the venue is & they couldn't stop talking about how good the food is! If you want a fairytale wedding, book The Whitby Castle.

Planning a wedding during a pandemic was no easy task but Niki and Ralph from the Whitby Castle, made the process that much easier. From the beginning stages of booking this venue for our wedding, our experience with Whitby Castle was excellent. Our original date was 5/31/20, but we had to postpone and reduce our guest count due to COVID. Niki helped us reschedule our wedding to 9/26/20 and was so helpful about answering our many questions leading up to the date. She kept us informed about the COVID situation and the regulations they would be following to keep everyone safe. Ralph also went through the day's schedule with us prior to the wedding, went over every detail, and was very flexible. Niki and Ralph helped us make our menu as vegan and gluten-free as possible, which we truly appreciated. They gave us so many great options and the food was fantastic! On the wedding day, Ralph was always there to see that everything went smoothly and help us with whatever we needed. Our bridal attendant, Rosa, also went above and beyond for us. When one of our guests had to urgently leave to catch a train, Ralph was there to help and Rosa literally drove her to the train station! We couldn't believe how generous they were. All of the staff were professional, friendly, and followed safety procedures like wearing masks and gloves at all times. Our guests had a great time, and so did we. We highly recommend Whitby Castle. You couldn't ask for a more beautiful venue or a more accommodating staff.

I had my bridal shower at Whitby Castle and I highly recommend having any type of party or event here. From the very beginning Niki, our event coordinator, was super helpful and kind and answered all of my questions. She was amazing to work with and I can't say enough good things about her!! I also want to give a special shoutout to Will because he went above and beyond to make sure my guests were taken care of and all of our guests loved him! He has a passion for what he does and put a smile on everyones face. I will definitely return to Whitby to host another event in the future!

Almost a year later and we are still reminiscing about our amazing wedding at the Whitby Castle. We had almost 200 guests, got married on the lawn and literally every moment was perfection. Ralph and his team take care of every detail and are hands on with everything. The day of, you really feel like you live in a castle for a day and it is a dream come true. They handled all my decorations perfectly and made our vision come true while we got ready and enjoyed the day. Catering is amazing and the food is delicious. I really cannot speak a bad word about the Whitby Castle. Most beautiful yet FUN wedding ever.

During this crazy and very difficult time, Whitby Castle has been nothing but the best. We spoke to them many times, sometimes daily, while trying to figure out if we should postpone our wedding due to COVID-19 pandemic and they were nothing but supportive. Any time we spoke to a Whitby Castle representative, they were consistently upbeat, responsive, engaged and joyful. Throughout this process, they gave us many options to help us make a final decision. In addition, they openly shared their current plan for hosting events when allowed by state guidelines. Once we made our decision, Whitby made us feel safe with their future plans as well. Whitby was extremely reassuring and patient with us during this difficult time. We couldn’t imagine anywhere else that we would want to spend our special day!

All the staff at Whitby have been amazing from day one, from Gabby to Niki to Sean, everyone has been so accommodating to everything we have needed since day one. Unfortunately for us we have to postpone our wedding due to the COVID 19 pandemic but Whitby has made that simple as well, they have refunded us our deposit without any push back at all. When we decide what we will do moving forward with our wedding, Whitby will be the first call we make. They have really been great every step of the way.

Our experience with Whitby has been amazing, especially throughout postponing our July 2020 wedding due to the COVID pandemic. I was extremely anxious about postponing and worried we would have to pay more. Our new contract honors the same pricing! Niki immediately put two back-up dates on hold for us while we contacted the rest of our vendors and sent a revised contract the same day we picked our new date. We can't wait for our new date at the castle!

I am blown away by how wonderful the venue, Ralph, and the whitby team were. From start to finish they made the process a breeze. They connected with us and added personal touches to the day. They truly made my wedding day a dream come true. I could not recommend this venue enough. Amazing food, caring staff, and a fairy tale setting. There is nothing else that could have made the day any better. Thank you to Ralph and his team!!!!

My husband and I were married here in December 2019.

There were so many reasons I was drawn to Whitby Castle - In a sea of cookie cutter Westchester waterside venues and halls with printed carpets and tacky chandeliers, it has a classic, elegant, and unique aesthetic. I had also heard from friends who had attended weddings here that the food was excellent, and I loved the fact that the entire venue was ours during our event. It is located beyond a long driveway on beautifully manicured grounds overlooking the Rye Golf Course.

Whitby Castle, and especially Ralph - delivered. The weddings here are run like a well-oiled machine. Several guests mentioned that the filet mignon with bourbon glaze was the best wedding meal they had ever experienced. Portions were BIG. My husband and I made sure we actually got to eat our dinner, so we knew what our guests were tasting! Cocktail hour food and flow was also met with rave reviews by our guests. The main room's floor plan IS something you don't see often - with the dance floor located adjacent to the seating rather than in the center - but we found this to be an asset. The main bar location on the side of the dance floor gave a reason for our guests to get out of their seats and dance, and our older guests were seated away from the loud speakers, but with views of the action. Due to the holiday season, wreaths and white lights were already outside and 5 white-lit Christmas trees were in the reception room, and these added a magnificent glow and complimented our seasonal theme.

A few extremely minor cautionary notes: They allowed a certain level of customization (we brought in our own chargers, napkins, photo drop backdrop, bourbon bar, created signature cocktails) but they will not set up everything for you (i.e. the photo booth that was free standing and needed to be plugged in, connected to wifi), so we hired a day-of-coordinator to do the heavy lifting with setting things up - and breaking them down (all of your personal items must be out THAT night, so it was an important hire for us.) Also, because we had a day-of-coordinator, my bridal attendant paid me no attention and did not get me a drink the entire night - I think they just assumed my DOC would be doing this, but she was busy with other things. The dark hardwood floor (which I will admit was a selling point for me, as I despise gaudy carpeting and found this to be preferable) could use a tiny bit of sprucing up.

OVERALL THOUGH: 5 STARS, Your wedding at Whitby is in excellent hands with Ralph and this venue and food are far and away better than most I've experienced in the Westchester/Rockland area. Big shoutout to our "captain" for the night, WILL! We loved these guys & thank you for making our wedding spectacular.

What a perfect place to get married.  Whitby is truly a beautiful wedding venue - the castle is so special and unique.  
In addition to the beautiful setting, the team at Whitby running and organizing our wedding was spectacular.  They really went above and beyond.  

Ralph, Will, Rosa and the rest of the team at Whitby are such a pleasure to work with.  They are so friendly and extremely organized - from planning every detail in the weeks leading up to our wedding to the wedding itself, everything ran so smoothly.  We had a few unique requests in terms of the schedule of the wedding/reception and the team at Whitby was so accommodating and flexible.  

The night of the wedding felt so easy - Ralph did a great job ensuring everything ran on time and smoothly.  It felt like no detail was overlooked - on day of the wedding the team at Whitby handed me a plate of all the appetizers so that i was able to eat without having to think about it which was such a little detail but made a huge difference.  The team at Whitby does such a great job orchestrating the event - I was able to enjoy my evening and have a blast without having to worry or even think about about any of the logistics of the night.

We can't recommend Whitby highly enough!

All of our dreams for what a wedding could be came true at Whitby Castle. The venue itself is absolutely gorgeous. I mean, look at a picture! It's incredible. But the real value of this place as a wedding venue is the staff. We worked with them for almost 16 months (because I knew I wanted to celebrate our wedding here from before I was engaged!) They always responded immediately to our emails, whether they were really critical parts of the day like menu choices or just some minor questions, like what the table dimensions were. They always, always took the time to listen to what we wanted or what we were hoping for during our big day. When it got closer, we figured out the timeline for the day and they worked so well with us in figuring out how to mesh timelines between the other vendors too, like the DJ and photographers. But all of that could not prepare me and my expectations for day of the wedding. It went so, so smoothly. Ralph was there every step of the way, as was Rosa and the other wonderful staff members. They both helped us and took care of our guests so, so well. Brides and grooms typically don't get to eat too much what with walking around and dancing and such, but they made sure we had all the staples during cocktail hour in between pictures and gave us an assortment of everything during dessert! The whole staff is phenomenal really -- my guests said they never felt they were forgotten, and that the food was delicious!! After the party ended the staff had everything packed so carefully. I can't thank them all enough really. I already miss the venue, and can't wait to go back for dinner when the restaurant opens up again in the spring. Thank you for everything, Whitby Castle!

Whitby Castle produced a beautiful wedding for our family. The food was delicious! The Operations Manager (Ralph) was well organized and on top of everything. He made the event run smoothly and was a pleasure to work with!

Whitby Castle was the first venue we looked at for our wedding and after a tour and meeting we booked that day. The attention and service the staff gave to us was simply unprecedented. Throughout our engagement, I would email with random questions (a lot) and they were always answered right away. In the weeks leading up to our wedding, Ralph and his team were superstars - they made sure every single detail we wanted was achieved. The day and night of our wedding was absolutely perfect. We did not have to worry about anything. The food was incredible, the dance floor was the perfect size (214 people), and the service was 5 stars. I would absolutely recommend Whitby Castle to anyone who is looking to get married in Westchester.

Our wedding at Whitby castle was an absolute dream come true! From the moment we visited and had our venue tour with Courtney we knew this was the place for us. Not only is the venue gorgeous but the staff is awesome! They’re responsive, accommodating, and professional. We had a lot of moving parts for our wedding (a secret bagpiper and horse and carriage, a surprise dress change where a first look was done for the groom, etc.) and Ralph, the maitre d’ made sure everything went off without hitch! He was so awesome and made us feel totally relaxed and taken care of on our big day. Him and Megan, the bridal attendant also made sure to grab a sample of ALL of the food at the cocktail hour for my husband and I time enjoy privately after we took our portraits together. This was such a pleasant surprise. Megan was also so friendly and made sure I had whatever I needed all night long. Thank you again!
The food and cake was also awesome, my family commented on how they appreciated that the serving staff wore white gloves and served the entire table at the same time. Some weddings serve the chicken, fish, and beef separately and it’s awkward for the guests who don’t have their food yet. They served the whole table at once and it did not go unnoticed! Very classy.
We also had our rehearsal dinner at Whitby castle the day before which was super convenient and so nice. The food was great and Ralph was able to meet us to do an actual rehearsal which was perfect (we did an early rehearsal at 1:00 in the afternoon so it didn’t interfere with the wedding that evening).
Overall, I highly recommend having Whitby castle as your wedding venue or for any other event! It was beautiful and just so enjoyable working with the staff here. My guests are still talking about how amazing the grounds were and how much fun they had. Thank you again to everyone at Whitby castle for the best night ever!

Courtney was so responsive from the moment we booked until the months prior, answering every question we had and putting us at ease! We (and our friends) were absolutely blown away by Whitby Castle. From the beginning, it was so easy to plan our wedding, especially since Whitby Castle provides everything--food, linens, even the wedding cake! And the people we worked with--Courtney and Ralph--were wonderful and really accommodating, and always available to answer any questions. On the wedding day itself, our guests couldn't stop raving about our wedding, the food, the beautiful venue. For weeks after the wedding we still kept hearing unsolicited comments on how amazing everything was!

We had our wedding on 7/20/19 and it was really the best day ever. PROS: -Ralph was very detailed oriented and ran the show seamlessly. We had a 20+ bridal party and he managed to keep everyone in line and organized from start to finish. - Food was to die for - since our wedding we have gotten a lot of feedback about how remarkable the food was, everyone says it felt like 5 star restaurant food rather than wedding food - You get a lot for your money, we were narrowed down to three venues, Whitby was about 10$ more a person, however it was worth it. The cocktail hour and what is included is like an entire meal in addition to the meal. - Service is amazing, every staff member is knowledgable on what to do, they are respectful and timely - Timing - our entire wedding 200+ people were all served within a 25 minute period, majority were served within 15 minutes. They can whip up seriously good food within short amount of time - Ceremony option - inside/outside up to the last minute. We ended up having the hottest day of the summer 100+ degrees and we ended up moving the ceremony inside. It was well air conditioned and everyone was comfortable. This was ultimately our biggest deciding factor, so many venues their rain plan included a tent rental and it is not something we were looking to do. Thank goodness we had Whitby's indoor option available, guests were very thankful. And the inside is just as pretty as the outside -You receive a bridal attendant who sets up all your decor and makes sure you have drinks/food the whole night. Rosa was a rockstar! - Planning - they are very organized with the planning and money leading up to the big day. They reached out to check in and assure that we were following the timeline. They were also great at answering my five million questions throughout the year leading up to the day. CONS - They were unable to provide a head table option without additional funds. They only provide round tables and a sweetheart table option. You would think as a major wedding venue, a head table with 4 rectangle tables connected wouldn't be a big deal. And it wasn't they happily accommodated it but we had to pay for it. For the amount you pay for the Whitby that should be included. It wasn't that much more money but still felt like they should have covered that. Hopefully it will be something they add for future brides. - Service charge - while the other two venues we considered did have a 20% service charge, it was their tip. As it was getting close to the end and of course you want everything to go right, spending every darn penny on little things... then you have to figure out tip for 15+ people. They really should work the gratuity into the contract like the other castle venues we looked at. Overall, can't say enough positives. The space if truly one of a kind. There are so many different settings that your guests get to experience. The cocktail hour is really unique on their wrap around porch and overlooks the golf course and water. Everyone says you don't eat on your wedding night, well we left there very full. We had a blast and the entire night went so smooth. Thank you Whitby for a wonderful evening.

Whitby castle had everything a couple would need for a perfect wedding. The grounds are well maintained and the halls are perfect for reception as well as dancing. We got excellent pictures on the terrace with the views of the golf course and the Sound. The food was exceptional - many choices and all delicious. Our guests have been delighted and so were we. The staff was helpful and made the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception run smoothly.

This past weekend we held our wedding at Whitby Castle. To say that it was perfect is and understatement! The whole entire staff was friendly, helpful, and on top of everything this entire night. Ralph was a pleasure to work with and made sure to guide us through the night with a huge smile! Meagan the bridal attendant was an angel who came baring champagne at all the right times 🤣 The cocktail hour food and main entree was out of this world! All of our guests raved about it 😁 I've been to many halls and my husband and I both worked in hospitality for years .... so when we say it was a DREAM wedding from start to finish we mean it! The minute we drove up to the Castle, we knew that this was our venue. The scenery and setting are gorgeous, the food (and there's so much of it!) is spectacular, and the people are friendly and helpful. Leading up to the wedding day, Courtney and then Ralph were always available to answer questions and make our planning easier. Then, on the wedding day, all that planning paid off and everything was just perfect. Ralph was amazing - making sure we kept close enough to schedule and that nothing was missed (and keeping our anxious mothers sane!). Just seeing him around calmed our nerves because we knew he was on it! The rest of the staff was just amazing - we can't say enough about how attentive and friendly everyone was. And our guests are still raving about the food and how gorgeous the venue was. If you are trying to decide on a venue, rest assured that you cannot go wrong with Whitby Castle! My husband and I agreed when we showed up to the Whitby Castle that we wouldn't sign a contract until we had been to a few other places. That all went out the window as soon as we walked in. We were both in awe not only because of the outside appearance but because of the ballroom and layout of the castle. We knew almost immediately that this was going to be our wedding venue. Courtney was extremely helpful and gave us all the information that we needed. She walked us through every single aspect of our planning and made sure that we were aware of payment dates and options. She was friendly and accommodating. Once our wedding day approached, we met our Maitre' D, Ralph. He took over helping us understand what was to be expected and what we needed to do in order to prepare for our wedding day. He was available for questions and concerns and made sure that everyone was on the same page. His kindhearted nature made both me and my husband comfortable throughout the entire experience. We were able to drop off our centerpieces and decor a few days before the wedding and his team made certain that our vision came to life. we met with him and went over every single detail, details that I hadn't even thought of either. During our tasting, we were given samples of our choices and felt extremely welcomed. The food was delicious at the tasting and at the wedding. The large variety of dishes made all of our guests happy and the vegetarian options were said to be delicious by our vegetarian friends. The staff at the Whitby was also accommodating with my father, who is in a wheelchair. They made him feel comfortable which was extremely important to me. The day of the wedding could not have gone smoother and everything was exactly how we expected it to be. Ralph was there from beginning to end making sure we all were taken care of and happy. My guests had the greatest time and my other vendors were very pleased with the professionalism and the help that the Whitby provided. I got married back on October 26, 2018 at Whitby Castle, and I must say it was the best night of my life! It was the first and only venue I toured when planning for my wedding. The reason it won me over was for one it’s all inclusive.. no need to search for a caterer or linens or cake.. which ticked off a lot of boxes on the wedding to do list, and secondly how many people can say they got married in a castle?? The views there are to die for being on the Long Island sound, and the old charm of the building itself was breath taking! The staff at Whitby is amazing! From the signing of the contract to the night of the wedding they were there every step of the way to make sure our day was as GREAT as it surely was! From Courtney and Nikki who were always there responding to all my questions leading up to the wedding in a timely manner... to Ralph who assured us that our day would run smoothly and was there the night of to make sure it did.. to Will the floor captain who made sure that not only our needs were met, but all of our guests were as well. I appreciate everything and thank you all from the bottom of my heart! Till this day I still get compliments from guests. Many saying it was one of the best weddings they have ever been to. I also received many MANY compliments about the food at the castle, which I can agree was fantastic, so much so I ate the left overs for the next 2 days (including the cake)! So delicious! I was recently married at the Whitby Castle, they did an amazing job! Our guest we're WOW'd from the beginning when they pulled in the driveway to the castle and amazing back drop. We were married outside on the lawn at dusk, the weather was perfect and the lighting on the castle. Our guests kept talking about the amount of food and top notch service from the staff. We got married at Whitby Castle in November of 2018. The castle and the grounds are amazing. Thru the whole process the staff was wonderful. From the day we booked until the wedding was over they worked to make sure everything was perfect. We used a lot of our own vendors and they were very accommodating and helpful. The food was amazing and the bar service was applauded. And for every problem that came up. And for every last minute change, there was Ralph. He took everything we wanted to do and helped turn it into a wedding. Then he was there to make sure we stayed on schedule and to do all of it. Where do I begin?? From the moment we stepped foot into the castle we were welcomed with kindness and excellent customer service. Whitby was the first venue that we looked at before booking our wedding, and we only looked at two other venues before going straight back to the castle to leave our deposit and book our wedding date. Besides stating the obvious that the castle and the grounds are beautiful, the staff at Whitby Castle is what makes the venue so wonderful. The first person that we worked with was Courtney- she took her time showing us the grounds and the venue and spent quite some time talking over details with us, and determining what we wanted our wedding day/night to be like. She never made me feel like I was "just a number", always made me feel comfortable asking as many questions as necessary, and made me feel confident that all of our wedding wants and needs were going to be met. The next person that we were introduced to was Will. Will not only makes a great cocktail, but he greeted us with a kind smile and was eager to please every time we stepped foot in the castle. The night of the wedding he was behind the scenes (and at the forefront of everything) making sure guests were accommodated, drinks and food were flowing, and really went above and beyond to see that my husband and I were happy and comfortable the entire day/night. He is an excellent asset to the Whitby staff!! Rosa was behind the scenes of my wedding day making sure that the bridal suite was stocked with drinks and snacks, and she helped to set up all of my personal decor in the entrance of the castle. At the end of the night she packed all of my belongings up for me, and she was a huge help- also very kind and easy to work with! Now last and certainly not least, we were introduced to Ralph. Ralph was awesome!! He was organized, straight to the point, and very matter of fact with us. He was the guy who put everything together for us right before the big day. He sat down with us and talked out all the details, gave us a timeline of the day and night, and really set our expectations high for the wedding. He was very easy to communicate with and promptly responded. He completely exceeded our expectations, and the day of the wedding he helped to keep us on track, and really made it possible for us to have every detail of the wedding that we wanted, happen. I can't say enough nice things about all of the staff at Whitby. They really are an excellent team, and I would highly recommend this venue to any special event, especially a wedding. ALSO, the food is EXCELLENT!!!!!! Our guests are still talking about our cocktail hour and all of the delicious options. My husband and I missed the cocktail hour and hardly got to eat during the wedding, and the staff put together 4 containers of food "to-go" for us, without even asking...... I really am beyond pleased with my experience at Whitby. Thank you all!!!!! I wish I could relive our wedding day there 100 more times!

We found Whitby by accident attending one of their expos – what a blessing!! Everything at Whitby from the day we walked in to the night of our reception was 5 stars!
While planning our wedding, we relied heavily on others’ reviews. So, to help others, we tried to make our reviews as details as possible. For the “Too Long Didn’t Read” crowd – everything at Whitby was amazing, classy, and 5 stars. We couldn’t be more thankful to Sean and Ralph for their unwavering commitment to seeing and executing on our vision!
Planning: Throughout our 3 (yes, 3) years of planning our wedding, Sean and the rest of the Whitby coordinators were incredible. Everyone was flexible, accommodating, and eager to understand just what we wanted in a wedding reception. They were exceptionally willing to (and did…) tailor any aspect of our reception, from the menu to timeline to logistical formatting. If there’s something you want, but don’t see in their standard packages, ask. Chances are, Whitby staff will work with you to help make your dream come true!
Execution: Understanding the vision is one thing – executing on it is another. Again, Whitby knocked it out of the park! While sitting at the dais, it was incredible to see how plates were served, with each guest at a table receiving their meals simultaneously. It seemed that every time we turned around, Ralph or one of his minions was there to offer a helping hand and a smile. Every detail was executed flawlessly, and our guests had the time of their lives thanks to Whitby staff.
Food: The food at Whitby is beyond words. During our tasting, Ralph, Chef, and the kitchen worked closely with us to devise the perfect menu. Unique to Whitby is their on-site kitchen – no cooking your food at some centralized location and shipping it in. For us, this meant guests got their food fresh, to order, and exactly how they wanted it. People are still raving about the cocktail hour and seared duck breast!

It’s been a few months since our wedding and anytime we see our family or friends Whitby Castle is without doubt a topic of high praise. Where do we begin? Uncle Ralphie (Ralph) and co. were an amazing team to work with! Leading up to the wedding, Ralph was always available via email and even happy to jump on a quick call. His sense of humor paired with his knowledgeable responses to every question made us feel at ease and we knew we were in good hands. On the big day, he ensured that all our vendors were taken care of. Our planners were able to work seamlessly with Ralph and his team and coordinate the entire day without a hitch. Every single one of our guests raved about the food and the service provided. Thank you, Uncle Ralphie, for making our wedding dreams come true! We can’t wait to revisit the castle and celebrate an anniversary at the restaurant in the years to come.

My husband and I looked at many venues within a month time span, and Whitby Castle was by far the most beautiful, unique and worth every penny! We planned our wedding long distance since we don’t like in NY, and they were extremely accommodating. For example, for our tasting we asked if we can come in July 4 and without hesitation they were flexible. Courtney was amazing and listened to our feedback when adjusting some of the food items. Planning with them was easy and they always responded within 24 hours of my emails no matter how big or small the question was. On the day of our wedding, we were blown away with the service they provided. Ralph, our contact and Maitre D, was phenomenal. He was so patient and kind. He kept the day moving smoothly, even when we started late. Rosa our bridal attendant was awesome! She showed me pictures of how she set things up (because I didn’t provided examples beforehand, which was my fault) and was open to feedback! I loved that she spoke Spanish and was able to communicate with my family. My family gave me lots of compliments on the wait staff for them being attentive and timely with food and drinks to the tables. Everything turned out beautiful and liked on dreamed about. There are no words to describe how amazing our wedding was at Whitby Castle this past August. Ralph (the maitre'd) and his staff when above and beyond to make our day so special. They helped make planning our reception stress free and fun. All of our family and friends loved the food, scenery, and music (we used their house DJ). We cannot say enough about Ralph, Courtney, and the entire Whitby Castle team. From beginning to end, our day could not have been any better thanks to the entire team. We had 8 guests drop out less than a week before the wedding and Ralph was able to accommodate an additional reception enhancement, no questions asked. This was completely unexpected as we thought we were going to have to eat that cost. Our guests are still talking about the food, service, and ambience even though it's Ralph and the entire team that made this day so special. He even pre-sliced our first piece of wedding cake so we didn't have anything to worry about during the big cake cutting moment - now THAT is attention to detail!

The Venue:
Few venues tout a cocktail patio that fits 200 and a ballroom that seats 200 with plenty of space remaining for you to dance the night away. Whitby Castle is one of them, with the patio and ballroom not only being spacious but quietly elegant. The patio overlooks the 18th hole and water for a beautiful hour amongst friends. Moving inside, the hardwood floors carry throughout the entire ballroom; so family & friends can dance whether their hearts desire. With such simple, refined details, the ballroom really allows the couple to decorate as much or as little as they’d like and their day feels like much more of their own because of it.

The Food:
Ralph and his team were flexible in adjusting our desired menu and always had guidance, which was welcomed (after all, you only do this kind of thing once). At one point, we had actually omitted selections from our cocktail hour hors d’oeuvres and instead of charging us for them without providing them, Ralph sent us a list of suggestions and even upgraded us in a few areas without an additional cost. A number of our guests said that this was one of the few weddings they attended where they left completely full. Our only regret is that we couldn’t enjoy one of everything!!

The Staff:
The Whitby team left a lasting impression from our initial tour through our final dance. Ralph runs a tight ship and you can tell that every person loves his/her job, which translates to the client experience. If we needed an amended invoice, it was e-mailed the same day. If we needed menu samplings, we saw the seasonal updates within hours of our request. And then the day-of, from family quarters to cocktails to dancing, the night was orchestrated to perfect and down to the last second. If you’re looking for a team that will make your day easier than you could ever imagine, Whitby Castle is the place for your big day.

My husband and I had an absolutely incredible wedding at Whitby. From the moment I looked up this venue, I fell in love with it's beauty! Since the very beginning, Ralph and his team were ON POINT with everything!! He welcomed and treated us like royalty! He was excellent in meeting our needs and in re-arranging our itinerary to make the night flow perfectly. All of our guests are still ranting and raving about how the night was so perfect and how the services provided was excellent! For any bride that wants to feel like a princess with her own castle, I highly recommend this location. Also the food was delicious!!

Our wedding at Whitby was EXACTLY what we envisioned for our special day! From the beginning, the team was professional, courteous, personable and just a pleasure to work with. Ralph, Niki, Courtney, Will, Tom (who was one of the awesome bartenders!!), Megan our bridal attendant and the entire staff at the Castle, made my husband and I feel like we were a part of their Whitby family. It was so nice to not have to worry about managing our event and actually enjoy it with our family and friends, because the team took care of everything for us the day of.

Furthermore, the food was just as spectacular as the service. From the insane cocktail hour to the sit down dinner (the chateaubriand you can literally cut with a fork it is so tender), all of our guests haven't stopped raving about how delicious the food was.

Whitby Castle was just amazing! We couldn't have been happier with our wedding there this past December. We were impressed with the staff and venue (it is absolutely gorgeous and well kept) from our very first visit last March. Ralph and his team were extremely responsive and helpful throughout the process and they executed everything perfectly the day of. I couldn’t believe how smoothly everything went! Our decorations were displayed exactly as asked, the food was delicious, and the flow of the evening was managed perfectly. Incredible! Whitby Castle is truly a gorgeous and special venue, but what is aesthetics without the incredible staff that brings Whitby its true charm. Our journey with Whitby Castle began last year and we were always met with impeccable customer service that truly made you feel as if you were their only bride and groom. Everything was absolutely perfect. I met with Janet last September and booked the venue right on the spot. The communication was very easy and everyone was very accommodating. Any questions I had Ralph & his team were very quick to answer. Whitby is a beautiful venue, but the team there really makes your wedding even better. The staff was so professional and there for anything you needed. The food was unbelievable, everyone was amazed with how great the food was. I had not one fault at Whitby and I would 100% recommend it to any bride and groom who want to get married here. I can't thank the team at Whitby enough for making my wedding everything I dreamed it would be. They truly deserve 10 stars!!!

My new husband and I had our wedding reception at the Whitby Castle on August 18th - and it was nothing short of perfect! All of our guests continue to comment on how amazing the food was, how beautiful the castle/grounds were, and what a great time they had! Ralph was beyond wonderful to work with - anything that we asked for was taken care of immediately. We, along with our entire wedding party, showed up a little earlier than expected and still we were welcomed immediately into the chapel room and bridal suite and catered to with food and drinks. My husband and I would fully recommend this venue to anyone - it's probably the best decision that we made in our entire wedding planning process! Thank you so much to Ralph and his crew!
