About this venue
The Locust Grove Estate is a not-for-profit museum and nature preserve located in Poughkeepsie, New York - the heart of the Hudson Valley. Set on 200 acres of landscaped grounds overlooking the Hudson River, the estate offers endless wedding photography opportunities in the historic gardens. With just one event booked each evening, guests also have exclusive access to art galleries in the Arts-and-Crafts-style museum pavilion, beautiful flower gardens, and both indoor and outdoor event spaces.
Facilities and Capacity
The Locust Grove Estate offers a unique event space in any season. The West Gallery can comfortably accommodate between 50 and 150 guests indoors for dinner and dancing, while the nearby Garden Lawn can also be rented for a wedding ceremony that overlooks the flower gardens. In case of rain, an indoor backup space is available for ceremonies (no need to rent a tent). The West Gallery features a vaulted ceiling studded with hanging lanterns, three walls of windows and french doors that open onto bluestone terraces, and gardens views. The rental fee includes tables, chairs, a full catering kitchen, air conditioning, ample restroom facilities, and convenient parking for guests. Choose your own caterer to provide the menu and bar service that you prefer. Lots of guests traveling? Two hotels are within walking distance, and three more within a five-minute drive.

Gorgeous Grounds
The perfect venue for us and our guests
We had the ceremony outside but it was a relief to have an indoor option that could be determined day of. The grounds are flat and one level, which was perfect for some of our guests’ needs.
We had a beautiful ceremony and reception at Locust Grove. I highly recommend it!
