April at Bluebird was fantastic at my brother's wedding in '06 and I knew from that day on I wanted her to photograph my wedding. The pictures are beyond my expectations and I am in love with everyone of them. Any idea you have for a pictures she will listen to and then run with it and make it even more fantastic than your vision. My husband and I got married in April and when planning for our wedding we knew we wanted professional, beautiful, creative, and fun photographs to remember our special day. When we met with April, we instantly knew she was "the one" with her fun, upbeat, and relaxed personality, that clicked with ours, and we felt like old friends. We had viewed her work on her website and thought she may have the point of view we were looking for. We didn't want the standard "stand and pose" look for our photographs and wanted to capture as much true, spontaneous emotion that we could, while having artistically creative pictures at the same time. She blended into the background without being noticed all the while getting great shots of us pre-wedding. Her presence, confidence, and demeanor were comforting and relaxing all at the same time. She was extremely efficient. The photographs were fabulous and we received SO many great compliments on them. We looked online and asked around for photographer referrals when planning our wedding. April's website was impressive and lots people agreed she would be a fantastic choice. Our wedding was at the Art Museum in Cincinnati, but we lived in Washington, DC at the time. April was very accommodating. We talked on the phone and met in person when we were in town. From the very beginning, she listened to what we wanted and truly honored our requests. We wanted a photographer who would capture moments of our day without invading everyone's space and worrying about striking the perfect pose. We have used April for many, MANY events in our life over the last three years! We met at a family members wedding and I fell in love with their photo album and decided she was the ONLY one I wanted to fly out to Maui to shoot our wedding. She did a fantastic job and even did a day after shoot on in the ocean, came back to Cincy and shot our reception for in-town guests! When we began planning our wedding, I asked a friend (who is also my long-time stationer) who she would recommend as a photographer -- April Smith/Bluebird Photography, she said. After several nightmare attempts to interview two other “highly recommended” photographers, and a “sneak peak” at the stunning photographs on her website, I met April. Two hours and many stories and laughs later, I knew that I had found the perfect person to capture and preserve the memories of our special day.

Above all, April is a very talented artist whose vision and creativity allow her to take and produce extraordinary photographs. She is also the consummate professional. But, perhaps most important, April is a personality. From the moment she stepped into the getting ready chaos, to the last photograph of the memorial dance for my husband's brother, April made our day (and never missed a beat or a photograph). April is absolutely FANTASTIC!! She took specific photos that I wanted taken, but she also took some photographs that were absolutely amazing and unexpected. I love how none of her photos look staged, they are all completedly relaxed. You come to find that some of the best photos taken are the photos that you didn't know about, she just snapped a photo while you were walking away. April traveled to Lexington, Ky. for our October wedding and we had a wonderful time with her as our photographer! April was our photographer at our wedding in Cincinnati last September. She was the only photographer I interviewed - I saw her photos on Style Me Pretty blog and after I met with her I was sold! She is so friendly and bubbly, but also laid back and made the entire experience simple and easy.
