My former pastor while I lived in the area and was a member of this church. He teaches the Word. Highly respect him. Pre marital counseling.

I stumbled upon this church because I used to live in the area at first it was all loving and welcoming and I became a regular of the youth adult ministries. Even went on to a mission trip. But then the holes and politics of the church and misogynistic, racist ways of its members started to come out. I am a Hispanic woman who has curves naturally and there isn't much I can do about that to the best of my intent I wore modest clothing to church because since I was a child I was told to go to church with my best clothing in a way that will please God tbh my mom wouldn't let me out of the house any other way and I was 17 at the time. But one day I got ambushed by the senior girls on the youth adult ministries to tell me that I was arousing the boys and causing disturbances in their minds and that I should wear baggy clothing and cover up even more because I couldn't be making the boys fall in sin, ( mind you that the only setting i ever saw this boys was at church and in the bible studies, i didnt hang out with any of them outside that). Anyways I was so mad and decided to bring up this unfortunate and unfair situation to the church pastor. Pastor Jeff started lecturing me about how I should want to cover up etc etc ... ( let me reinforce the fact that I was covered up I never went to church showing any skin) he then went on to say that the boys needed to have little to no exposure because their minds were hormonal and sinful ... to which I replied and why I am being lectured instead of them shouldn't they be the ones in trouble for not being full of the spirit should the church be working on them trying to guide them through this times? to not think that way to begin with?. I said why is it up to us girls to cover up and be chastised for something we couldn't help on our selfs... the exchange went on and on with him defending his good old church boys and telling me that is was my fault that his boys were having impure thoughts. So I started crying feeling angry over this fact and in the end he basically kicked me out of the church saying I was a rotten apple for even questioning this. The youth ministries of that time was such a joke and after my exit it looked like their misogynistic methods were not working since one of the covered up girls ended knocked up anyways. I know God put me where I needed to be as I found a Church and community where my unique personality was not just valued but it was encouraged and guided to serve God. But bethel grace left me with such bad taste about pastors and religious organizations that now I really question everything when I meet a so called Christian leader. I really do hope that after many years their ways have change but sadly people like that never do . Oh may I add that the percent girl was kicked out of church h as if her sin was going to infect the others compassion is apparently not something they like over there so beware if you are a woman joining this church
