I hired NKG Band for my wedding this past weekend at Sheperd’s Hollow. To say this group are consummate professionals is an understatement. This is one of the most talented group of musicians in the metro Detroit area. The band are tied together as both friends and family so their chemistry just elevates their performances!They are not just going through the motions, it’s obvious how much fun they are having. They threw in some surprise songs I had requested during the band breaks so it was amazing hearing them live! Choosing my music and entertainment for my wedding was one of the most important decisions I made since I’m the type of bride who is on the dance floor the entire night! I was obsessively trying to coordinate the perfect mix and they helped bring this to fruition. You can upgrade to horns too, which we are so glad we did. I got countless compliments throughout the night on how talented they are and how incredible their stage set up was. They also helped set up mics and sound for the ceremony which was super helpful. Their MC, Tony, is awesome and kept the energy high and the night moving smoothly. Also, shoutout to my hugely talented childhood buddy, Renee Turner who is one of the female vocals. How extremely special it was to have her a part of my wedding day! I cannot recommend NKG Band enough for your wedding or special event!

After watching many online videos of live bands throughout the Metro-Detroit and Southeastern Michigan area, we selected Nick Kuhl and The Gang to perform at our wedding at Meadow Brook Hall last fall. We are SO glad we hired them – they were absolutely amazing!! Not only were Nick and Tony extremely kind, responsive, and easy to work with throughout the planning process and on the day of the wedding, but the band’s musical expertise, sound quality, and overall talent is phenomenal and incomparable. We planned our entire wedding in 3 months, and Nick and Tony were very accommodating and helpful throughout all of our last-minute planning; they were quick on their toes and were even able to seamlessly incorporate song selections and cues for speeches we provided on the morning of the wedding! They even assisted with other elements of the wedding day by providing microphones for our ceremony and even helping with some non-music related tasks that had been overlooked by another vendor. (We were extremely grateful for this!) During the reception, the band played a combination of specific selections we requested, along with a variety of other timeless and popular music that everyone loved. They kept people of all ages on the dance floor the entire evening! They also did a wonderful job serving as the MC throughout the reception and maintained a great level of energy and enthusiasm throughout the event. The performers in the band clearly love what they do, and their enjoyment and happiness were evident and contagious!. We highly recommend Nick Kuhl and The Gang for anyone who appreciates excellent music, a live band, and top-notch entertainment! We wish we had another event so we could hire them again!

Having a live band at our wedding reception was always something we had dreamed of, but it was when we started looking for the perfect band that we found ourselves taking our time to make sure the music would mirror the energy of the day and put on a performance everyone would remember. Nick Kuhl and the Gang did not disappoint. They truly rocked and kept the party going from open to close. Very professional and a pleasure to work with, they were communicative before the wedding, and were flexible with specifics like performing as a three piece band before dinner then following up with a ten piece with brass for dancing after dinner. Their quality is second to none, they sound studio quality live, and can play literally anything! From learning our first dance song to breaking it down with Motown and funk, nothing is outside their comfort zone. They even let the groom and a couple groomsmen who played together in a band get up and rock with them on stage! Needless to say we were very impressed and would without hesitation recommend them to anyone looking to book a wedding band for their special day.

NKG played at our wedding this past summer and they were absolutely fantastic!! When we first met to discuss the wedding "vine" I had mentioned that we wanted high energy 90s-2000s crowd pleasers that would keep everyone on the dance floor all night long. They did not disappoint in the least! They were not only amazing performing live, they were very accommodating when it came to coordinating playlists for our ceremony entrance, cocktail hour, wedding party entrance and all breaks in between sets.

They have some live videos on their social media of the band performing but believe me when I say the videos do not do them justice to just how terrific they sound live. If you're on the fence of whether to go with a dj or live band for your wedding, all your concerns will flood away once you book NKG!!

Our dance floor was full the ENTIRE night. Nick Kuhn and the Gang was SO fun!!!! We booked them without ever having seen them and were nervous about how they’d be. I was blown away. They were so so so great. Couldn’t recommend them more highly. I’d love to re-hire them for another event. 11/10!!!

NKG has now played 2 of our family weddings! They are awesome to work with, helped make the reception go smoothly, and kept people dancing all night! We got so many compliments on how awesome they were.

We were so impressed by how NKG performed live. We loved there sound and energy and choosing them as our wedding band was an incredibly easy decision to make.

We had to cancel our wedding party due to COVID-19. The emotional and financial burden was all very overwhelming. Both Nick and Tony were so decent and understanding. The Band gracious refunded our payment in full, which was not a requirement (per our contract).

From collaborating on the bride’s entrance song, the closing ceremony song, and allowing our families to partake in the entertainment by playing their own rendition of certain songs, you truly knocked the night out of the park. You were effortless in getting everyone to dance and enjoy the kickoff of the evening even before our guests had their entrée and were incredible in keeping all of the guests on the dance floor until 12am. The play list was exactly what we were hoping for, and the 7-piece set was all we could have ever dreamed!
