We stayed in the Grand Suite the weekend of our wedding. One of the best choices we have made, as it was right next door to The White Room. The room was spacious enough for family and friends to come and go throughout the day. All the Bridesmaids and Flower Girl, and Moms could get ready together there as well as have a hair stylist, makeup artist, and a few friends, as well as a photographer in the room all at once.
I read some of the reviews online about a week before the wedding and started to have some anxiety form such negativity, although they were highly recommended by The White Room.
Yes, you do have to walk 5-6 blocks back to your room after parking, but be happy you have a decent sized, “designated” parking spot. St. Augustine is a pedestrian city and parking sucks all around. You can use that dirt parking lot for loading/unloading your things. Yes the parking attendants can by strict, but it’s their job. They are quite friendly if you talk to them.
There was live music outside the restaurant across the alley, O.C. Whites and there were weddings happing next door. I never heard the weddings that were taking place while we were there, but a low volume T.V. and running A/C units took care of the live music, which was not very loud to begin with. The noise was much less here than it is closer to the fort as the trollies drive around with people cheering, yelling, and having a good time.
