A little belated review for my experience with Cherie in early September. I actually found Cherie while I was scrolling through Instagram, looking for a hair and makeup artist for my tea ceremony. I was looking for an artist who did more natural looking makeup, and after looking at Cherie’s portfolio, I knew I found the artist I wanted to work with.

My mom went along with me for the hair and makeup trial, and she and Cherie hit it off - making jokes, laughing, and just having a great time. I had a general idea of how I wanted my hair and makeup, but I trusted Cherie to do her thing - trust and let the artist do what they do best. I shared pictures with some members of the wedding party, and they really liked how Cherie did my hair and makeup - glam but not overly done, accenting my natural looks. Cherie is so kind and was always responsive to my questions, even though it would take me a while before I would get back to her emails. She provided detailed instructions for hair and skin prep, and her team (Jaylyn and Leslie) were so amazing and fun to work with. Cherie is also super personable - it’s like you’re talking to a really good friend, and she always made sure that I was comfortable and at ease.

The night before my tea ceremony, I felt bad because I was texting Cherie pretty late (around 11pm), sending her photos and instructions on where to park and how to get to the Airbnb (since there was only street parking). The day of, Cherie arrived around 5:15am, ready to set up and start working. I had told Cherie that I was feeling anxious, but her presence and energy helped to calm my nerves (the soothing music she put on in the background also helped!).

EVERYBODY kept talking about how pretty I looked, and how the makeup and hair looked so amazing. My mom kept complimenting on how Cherie did such a better job with my makeup for the tea ceremony (than for the trial); my cousins complimented the highlighter that she used; my uncle said I looked really nice, and his wife said she didn’t recognize me (in a good way!); and my fiance said I looked really pretty. My makeup held up for the entire day - the traditional tea ceremony at the bride’s parents’ house, heading over to the groom’s parents’ house for photos and lunch, and the aftermath of cleaning up.

Cherie is truly passionate about her craft and making others look and feel beautiful and amazing. She’s super down-to-earth and displays absolute professionalism - being punctual, responsive, and detail-oriented.

I truly cannot put into words how grateful I am for Cherie! I stumbled upon her Instagram when I was in the looks for the perfect MUA for my wedding and could instantly feel her beautiful soul through her work. From the very first moment I attended my bridal trial, I knew instantly that she was the one. She truly listened to me, understood my vision, and made me feel so comfortable and confident — I left that trial knowing I was in the best hands. As soon as she arrived on my wedding day, she brought such a calming, kind, and positive energy that made the whole morning feel so special and stress-free. Cherie along with her assistants Leslie and Jaylyn were incredibly sweet, patient, and made every single one of us feel beautiful. Cherie’s kindness, warmth, and genuine care made one of the most important mornings of my life truly special from the very first moment. She has such a calming presence about her that while she was working her magic and we were chatting away she eased my pre wedding jitters.

My makeup was everything I dreamed of and more — it was flawless, photographed beautifully, and lasted perfectly all night through happy tears, hugs, dancing, and everything in between. I received so many compliments throughout the entire day and night, which made me feel so confident and radiant on such an important day. My bridesmaids also looked absolutely stunning and couldn’t stop raving about how much they loved their makeup. Each one of them felt seen and cared for, which meant the world to me.

Cherie didn’t just do makeup — she helped make my wedding day feel magical. I will forever be thankful for her and would recommend her a million times over to any bride looking for not only talent, but genuinely wonderful people. Thank you again to the amazing Cherie!!

Cherie is an incredible, talented HMUA, and such a beautiful soul. She is a deeply caring person, which was reflected in the way she got to know me during our session, and paid attention/took notes on the smallest details I shared about my personality, style, and preferences. She also has no ego about her work at all, and was incredibly supportive and open to making adjustments as we went. I booked my trial for the day we were having our engagement photos done, which ended up being great, because I could tell her what I liked and what I wanted adjusted for the wedding day, based on how the photos turned out.

On the day of the wedding, Cherie was an incredibly calming presence, and she didn't miss a single note I'd sent her over email/text since the last time I'd seen her. She was also great with my Vietnamese family, which was a lovely bonus! My hair and makeup lasted all night, and I got so many compliments about what an amazing job she'd done. I would absolutely recommend Cherie to anyone looking for a highly skilled and meticulous HMUA with a great eye--and a great heart! Thank you, Cherie!!

I’m so grateful for the makeup Cherie did for my wedding! From start to finish she was very kind, patient, and made sure to communicate and work with me to achieve my ideal look. She is incredibly talented and detail-oriented. I was so impressed with her hair skills also! She created a hairstyle for me that exactly matched what I was hoping for. I highly recommend her!

I booked Cherie as a MUA for my wedding day and she really went above and beyond. Initially, my MOH had concerns about makeup because she tends to go makeup-free due to her sensitive skin. Cherie worked with me to also do a HMUA trial for my MOH in addition to my bridal HMUA trial. She listened to all of my MOH's concerns, talked through different makeup styles and their differences, and explained how to do touch-ups ourselves on the big day if we needed them. By the end of our HMUA trials, we looked absolutely amazing and my family couldn't stop marveling at my makeup when I got home to show them.

My wedding day started incredibly early because of the tea ceremony we had in the morning. Because of this, the HMUA team had to arrive at ~4AM to do all of our hair and makeup. Cherie came right on time with a great attitude and set up quickly so she could get started. She was really friendly to all of the bridesmaids and everyone could talk to her with ease about what they wanted. When it came to doing my makeup, she mentioned that she took some time to study what she had done for my trial so that she could remember how I wanted my makeup done for the day of the wedding. She was also open to any adjustments I wanted to make the day of, although it was unneeded because I thought it had been perfect at the trial. She had also previously told my MOH and me that we could let her know of any changes in our makeup in between the trial and the big day, so she's super flexible!

Weddings are super stressful for brides because there are so many factors involved and surprises that can cause even more stress. Working with Cherie was wonderful because she was so kind and friendly and I knew that I'd look beautiful on my wedding day. I got compliments from everyone on how beautiful I looked from the beginning of the day all the way to the end of the night. I can't thank Cherie enough for doing such amazing work on my special day and I would happily recommend her to anyone looking for a HMUA to make them look beautiful for a special occasion.

I had such a wonderful experience with Cherie for my friend’s wedding. It was my first time being a bridesmaid and having my hair and makeup professionally done, and I wasn’t sure what I wanted. Cherie took the time to study my features, listen to my preferences, and suggest a look that suited me perfectly. The result was soft, natural, and completely me.

She went above and beyond by offering to help my daughters, who were the flower girls, with their hair so they could feel special too, such a kind and thoughtful gesture. My makeup and hair stayed flawless through the ceremony, photos, and hours of dancing.

I greatly enjoyed my trial with her, and on the day of she was 10/10! She showed up 5 minutes early and made the beauty experience so fun! I had 10 girls in my suite with me and she made sure I was able to laugh and have fun with them throughout the morning - and of course my photos came out GORGEOUS!! I can't wait to share the photos when I get them back from my photographer.

I got married quite a while ago but finally have time to post my review now. Cherie is absolutely lovely and she truly cares about making her bride and bridesmaids feel beautiful! She goes above and beyond to tailor each individual's preference. The entire process with her was smooth from coordinating the trial session to the actual day. She is super responsive and a great planner, which is exactly what each bride needs for her wedding! In addition, Cherie is such a sweet person, we still connect on social media and run into each other in the Bay Area and still catch up!

Cherie was absolutely amazing and I highly recommend her to all future brides! She was my hair and makeup artist for both the tea ceremony/welcome dinner event and the wedding day. I really liked her portfolio on Instagram and after meeting her at the trial, I was sold. She was having a family emergency at the time of my trial, and still made the time to communicate with me and squeeze me in. She is personable and easy to get along with - it feels like you’re talking to an old friend. As someone who isn't well-versed in makeup and hair styles, I appreciated how she guided me toward a look I absolutely loved. On both event days, Cherie was punctual, efficient, and stress-free to work with. The second makeup artist for the other girls in the wedding party, April, was a joy to work with as well. Since brides spend so much time with their hair and makeup artist on the wedding day, having someone you genuinely enjoy being around makes all the difference. Cherie’s flexibility was remarkable - when there was a possibility our hotel room wouldn't be ready and we might need to set up in a common area, she was supportive and adaptable. We had a situation where one of the ladies requested an extra service on the spot and she was amazingly flexible and accommodating. I was thrilled with how me and my girls looked on the wedding day, but more importantly the whole day felt effortless and fun!

It was an absolute joy getting to work with Cherie and her assistant, Jennifer, for my wedding! Cherie was reliable and responsive over email (even when a couple of my emails were sent late in the evening) and arrived on time and prepared on the day of the wedding.

As someone who doesn’t usually wear makeup or have my hair done, I wasn’t exactly sure what I was looking for and gave Cherie only a couple of reference photos and vague descriptions to go off of. She took that bit of information and, with her incredible talent and eye for detail, created a beautiful and elegant look that was everything that I could have hoped for. I received so many compliments for it throughout the wedding!

Not only is Cherie gifted at what she does, she is also such a lovely, patient, and sweet person. Her calming, down-to-earth presence was exactly what I needed while getting ready on my wedding day, when nerves were running high – three hours of hair and makeup flew by because Cherie was so fun and easy to talk to!
