AvantGarden is a historic mansion and vintage-style wedding venue located in Houston, Texas. This unique building was built in 1896 as a private home, and restored in 2007 as the event venue it is today. Situated in the city’s Montrose area, it offers couples both indoor and outdoor options for their celebration. AvantGarden specializes in helping couples host beautiful, fun, and seamless weddings.

Facilities and Capacity

When celebrating at AvantGarden, you can share your day with up to 200 guests. You are welcome to exchange vows outside in their one-of-a-kind garden for an intimate ceremony or say “I do” on the candle-lit back patio. At both event sites, the turn-of-the-century Kraft house will serve as your backdrop. For your cocktail hour, you can mingle with guests in the AvantRoom, the venue’s downstairs lounge. Another option, the front court and porch, is an ideal space for newlyweds to enjoy a variety of hors d'oeuvres with loved ones. The venue features fully stocked bars where those celebrating can enjoy wine, sangria, microbrewed beers, and premium liquors. Couples are even welcome to include their four-legged family members in their milestone events at this pet-friendly space.

AvantGarden has been a part of the wedding industry for over 13 years and their team delights in continuing to help to-be-weds host unforgettable celebrations. To ensure that every couple’s big day is as seamless as possible, they offer all-inclusive packages. Officiant, DJ, photography, florist, and photo booth services can be provided for a simplified planning experience. Their staff will assist you with event planning and any rentals, along with setup and cleanup. Lighting and sound equipment will be provided, as well as tables, chairs, and linens. For your reception meal, they offer great international dining options which can be served either as a buffet or family-style. As a sweet conclusion to the dinner, a traditional wedding cake or a dessert station and coffee bar can be prepared. Their attentive team is happy to assist with bartending services so that you can sip your favorite drinks as you celebrate.

History

This historic house is one of the last remaining Westheimer structures in Houston. It’s where Howard Hughes played as a child, and it eventually served as a halfway house before Mariana Lemesoff purchased it and repaired it twice. In 1996, it was The Mausoleum, a bar, live music and artistic venue, and in 2000, it was named Helios. Today, Avantgarden serves as a special event venue and Mariana delights in continuing to support artists in her community.
