Augie did both our engagement shoot and our wedding photos. My husband and I had spoken to multiple photographers, but after a phone call with Augie we were set. Augie was easy to communicate with and we found common ground on so many things so quickly, we felt like we could be friends with him. Both my husband and I are fairly awkward in front of the camera, but after a little time with Augie--you become a seasoned pro. Our photos were absolutely beautiful, engagement and wedding. So beautiful that after showing a friend our engagement photos she wanted to recommend Augie to someone she knew rather than her own wedding photographer! On the wedding day, our wedding party was impressed by Augie’s personable nature--he learned just about everyone’s names in a matter of minutes. We got all of our photos back so fast--impressively fast, and Augie already has what we thought to be a short return time. Our photos are stunning. Our venue was indoors and a little on the darker side, and Augie got so many great shots of the little moments on our big day. We are so excited to have these memories displayed in our home for years to come.

1. Amazingly talented and so easy to work with.
2. He's very creative as you can see in his work yet he has a technical background (engineer from Berkeley) so everything is precisely calculated and created to make the shot look perfect. You can see from his portfolio that his pictures are truly artistic in nature and memorable. He's got creatively and brains so can go no wrong.
3. He is extremely fast and efficient. He turned wedding teasers around the very next day. Yes, I woke up had breakfast and checked email to find pics.
4. Augie communicates very well so you always know what to expect.
5. His team is amazing. He had Vero Suh (2nd shooter) and Maria Chang (makeup artist of PMA) who were both also amazing. They are a perfect team that made sure the day went by smoothly without a hitch. His pictures made us look fantastic!

If you can, book the A TEAM - Your wedding with be perfect with no flaws! Trust me! This team has worked together several times and you don't even have to worry about them communicating with each other. Book the A team and you won't even need a wedding coordinator.

We booked Augie for our wedding more than a year in advance. We opted for the 6 hour package (incl. engagement session), as we had a small, daytime wedding with no bridal party.

1. He is expensive, but I think worth it for peace of mind that your pictures will be gorgeous. I worried that my pictures wouldn't be as lovely as those he posts on his blog, but I am really thrilled with them!

2. Don't opt out of the engagement shoot. We originally didn't want it (and were thinking of saving ~$500 by not doing it), but are so glad we did. Augie provided lots of tips and helped us get comfortable in front of the camera in a short 1 hour session. The experience really helped get is "picture-ready" on the big day much more quickly. Great practice!

3. JPGs of your engagement shoot come with the DVD with your wedding pictures, so if you were hoping to get the pictures early to share on Facebook, you'll have to settle with sharing the low-res "teasers" (Augie was able to send us some ~2000px res pictures, but I don't think this is encouraged!)

4. Low-res teasers came 24-48 hours after the engagement shoot and wedding, which is amazing! The timeline for the rest of the wedding photos and DVD is quite a bit longer (6 weeks and 90 days, respectively), though in both cases, Augie delivered far ahead of schedule (yay!)

5. The online host for pictures (at the 6 week mark) are posted on Pictage, which has a poor end-user experience. This interface is mainly provided to facilitate ordering high quality prints (at high prices, as well), and sharing online with friends and family. Friends and family must sign up for an account to view, and enlarged pictures are watermarked to prevent screen-capping (so you can't really get an unobstructed view of the pictures).

Augie is very flexible, professional, and prompt with communications. Invaluable when it comes to wedding planning! His assistants, V (Vi? Vee?) and Tom (who appeared to be in-training) were also very professional.
