My friend used Athena for her wedding and raved about how good she is. Since I was a bridesmaid, I was able to interact with her personally. Fast forward 2 years, and now I am the bride! I knew right away that I would use Athena.

I would say the quality is totally worth it. I feel so bad for the brides who spend a little less money on their hair and makeup only to not look as nice. You seriously do get what you pay for (most of the time), and I am happy I shelled out for Athena. All night people complimented me on my make up and hair. Further, I'm completely satisfied with how I look in the pictures. How you look in real life is different than how you'll look in pictures, and I'll be happy every time I look at these pictures for years to come!

She seriously is AMAZING, and I totally recommend her to any bride out there. On top of everything, she is extremely flexible of our meeting place. I loved working with Athena!

Worth every penny, even pay for extra touch-up during the day if you are taking pictures during the day light on a warm day. You dont want your make up running or smearing. Very professional and did a great job with hair and make up. Will use again, wish I could learn how to do more of this myself but just need to remember the tips and find my "style"

Athena of Artistry by Athena AMAZING! Very easy to work with, reasonably priced, personable, flexible, and extremely talented! I can't say enough good things about their work! During my trial, I showed her pictures of what I'd like, she was able to recreate it completely...and made it even BETTER!
Athena were also very professional and I never had a doubt in my mind that Artistry by Athena and her other makeup artist were the perfect choice for my hair and make up for my wedding. They did my entire wedding party as well as myself and we all looked absolutely beautiful. We all had multiple compliments from everyone at the wedding as to how good our make up and hair looked. I liked about Athena's airbrush makeup was that my skin look flawless and they did EXACTLY what we wanted as we all wanted something a little different. A couple of girls in my wedding party weren't going to get their make up done, and then after seeing how good everyone else looked, they decided to have it done last minute and Athena accommodate them. Also, our hair and make up stayed put all night long! I never had to fix my hair or apply more make up. If I had to do it all over again, I would definitely choose Artistry by Athena. I LOVE and LOVE her airbrush makeup. Must try it when you have trial run with her.

Athena and her other makeup artists were amazing. My trial with Athena was great. On the day-of she was on time, set up quickly, and did an amazing job. I loved my hair and make-up and got so many compliments. She even stayed after she was done to wait for my florist to show up with the flowers for my hair.

Her assistant did all of the Mother’s and bridesmaid’s hair and they all loved what she did.

Athena did my make-up for my wedding. As the bride, I really wanted to look my best. Athena was absolutely fabulous. She was warm and friendly and yet extremely professional. Athena conducted a pre-wedding make up consultation. She is certainly service oriented and she is a professional in her field. The make-up quality excellent and it lasted through my entire wedding and reception. I couldn't believe it! I received numerous compliments. I can't get over how good I look in my wedding photos. I would highly recommend Athena's services to anyone. She is really a great makeup artist and a wonderful person!

Athena's makeup work was perfect for my wedding. All my bridesmaids looked so natural and beautiful. I myself was also very surprised by the way my makeup turned out. At first I was afraid it would look too overdone but when Athena was done with me, I looked so different! In a good way of course! =) I have very small eyes and when I smile, it would look like I dont have any! This was my problem and Athena made my eyes a lot bigger and prettier yet natural. I was very satisfied with her work! She was also very attentive and caring for my makeup on my wedding day. Athena is so flexible too when I first met her. Athena was among three makeup artists that were recommended to me when I was searching for someone to do hair and make up for my wedding. What appealed to me and my matron of honor (who was also scouting out vendors for me!) was that Athena made her subjects look pretty yet natural. Plus, I was intrigued with the whole "airbrush" deal. I had no idea you could airbrush people in addition to pictures!
I am glad that I agreed to do a run through session with Athena before the wedding. Per her request, I gave her some pictures of hair and make up styles that I liked and she did a great job replicating the styles on me! What I liked about Athena and doing the run through was that she wanted me to be totally comfortable with how I looked. When I told her I wasn't too sure about the lipstick color, she changed it to a more berry shade and I was super happy! (Little things like that matter, you know?) I loved how the airbrushing turned out, how she did my eyes (I've got the weird predicament of having eyelids but very Asian slanted-eyes so a lot of artists don't really know what to do with me.)
Something important to mention - after I left my run through my appointment, my fiance and I went to check in to the hotel where we would be married. I noticed that the curls in my hair fell flat right away. I was very worried that this would happen the day of my wedding. My hair is fickle and will sometimes refuse to hold a curl for the life of me. I emailed Athena to let her know what happened and that I felt more comfortable curling my own hair and then have her style it. Athena emailed me back that it wouldn't be a problem.
The day of the wedding, Athena was on point. Athena finished a little bit early so there was plenty of cushion time to go from the room to the ceremony location for pre-wedding pictures.
I am so glad that I decided to splurge on having someone else do my hair and make up because it was something I didn't have to worry about. And because I did have a run through with Athena I knew exactly what she was planning to do and how it would turn out. I highly recommend Athena to anyone that wants to have a professional take care of her hair and make up on her big day. Not only do you not have to worry about how you look but you will also feel really good about how you look for your pictures!
PS: I advise you to use your own lipstick for touch ups during your wedding day. I read that from someone else's review and it was a great tip!

I used Anhthu aka Athena several years ago for my wedding. She has a great eye for how much make up needs to be applied in order for it to look in person and on photo. Being an asian with no double eyelids, Anhthu also did a great job on my eye make up. i am glad that i booked her.

Athena, you were absolutely wonderful!! My hair and makeup looked sooo good and held up throughout the whole day. I really liked how you arranged the flowers in my hair and would recommend your brides to put flowers in their hair because it looks great in the pictures.
