About

With 15 years of wedding experience, Ashley Andresen is a freelance photographer, working side by side with husband and fellow photographer, Tom Andresen, who also offers video services. Together they love capturing weddings, anniversaries, family and senior portraits, babies, pregnancy, pets, head shots, and commercial photography. Tom and Ashley make use of natural lighting, reflectors, an on camera flash or studio lighting as the situation demands to get the best shots possible.

How it all began

I have been taking pictures for as long as I can remember. My first camera was a clunky 35mm hand-me-down. Even with that most basic tool, I was arranging photos with the family pets and coordinating photo shoots with my cousin.

After a summer of babysitting, I spent all my savings on my first film camera with a zoom lens! In high school, I started working at a local newspaper where I learned how to operate their more professional camera and benefited from the knowledge of other photographers in the industry. High school journalism classes were the beginning of my interest in page layout and design.

At that point in my life, I began shooting weddings for friends and family. I later received a new camera for my graduation in 2004 and started my business as Ashley McDougal Photography. Looking for a referral, I contacted a semi-retired photographer and ended up gaining new friends and a series of photography lessons that have proven invaluable in giving my creative photos the professional touch they needed.

Things soon changed to digital and I was able to obtain a high resolution, professional grade camera. With my photography skills and digital design skills continuing to grow and improve as trends and the business change, I love my job more than ever.

In 2014, I relaunched my business as Ashley Lynn Photography. Now my husband Tom and I work as team, he bringing an added technical expertise to my artistic eye and together we plan to accomplish great things for our clients.
