We got married back in September 2023, and my husband and I were originally planning to get married on Orcas Island. We met with Gavin, whom we immediately vibed with, and then after much debate and a few other factors, we ended up moving our venue off-island. My parents told us there were so many other local vendors that we should consider going with because to them it seemed extreme to have an Orcas Island vendor travel all the way to us, but we were adamant that if they were willing to travel to our new venue, we wanted to keep them. Luckily they were! We ended up getting married in Poulsbo and were still able to keep our "forest formal" theme, even though we were no longer getting married in the woods. Gavin was great with all the details, and was in contact consistently about color schemes, décor plans, while keeping things simplistically chic, and of course food ideas (though we trusted the menu completely after tasting the first appetizer we tried - the roasted hibiscus flower with goat cheese! *chef's kiss*). The menu was full of locally sourced goods - from the salmon to the homemade bread, to the delicious salad and Beecher's mac and cheese. Truly, it was so nice to not have to pour so much thought and energy into the menu because we trusted that Gavin's team would pull it off, and they did it flawlessly. Because we changed the venue, I ended up doing most of the décor myself, but I was a DIY bride, but Asher&Olive brought our forest formal theme to life with their catering and details on the buffet table. Their staff were extremely friendly, the food was phenomenal, and guests were raving about it - we didn't even have any food leftover because people liked it so much they went back for seconds! My parents said towards the end of the evening that we were right to have fought to keep them as our caterers, because everything was delicious and perfect. We heard that praise again when we visited them over the holidays. I 1000% recommend working with Gavin and his crew!

I am delighted to be able to provide a review for Asher & Olive Catering. Their company did a fantastic job with the food accommodating a diverse group of people! Everything was fresh and well prepared. The presentation was also beautiful and they incorporated the theme of the wedding in the decor very nicely, too. The most extraordinary thing about this company is they were so incredibly flexible with us. My daughter and her fiancé went through multiple iterations of how they wanted their day spent. Starting with catering a small, immediate family only dinner for twelve to be done at an Airbnb on Orcas Island, to increasing the size to around 30 to be held at a venue on Orcas, to finally saying they wanted the wedding to be done on their farm on Whidbey Island (a long ferry boat and drive from Orcas) for 60+ guests. There was even a change in the wedding date along the way. Over a year's time passed in planning this wedding and Asher & Olive just kept in stride with us and all the changes. They reassured us they would be able to accommodate the wedding, even when the couple moved it off of Orcas Island! Also, having the wedding at the farm meant no available kitchen for them to use, but again they reassured us it would be no problem! They even made a trip to Whidbey Island for a site visit prior to the wedding so they would be prepared for the big day. Then come wedding day, they brought trucks and supplies and fresh food and cooked a delicious meal and made a beautiful display as well! We continue to be so grateful for their patience with all the changes and updates and especially the wonderful meal. Our guests raved about the food. We really cannot say enough about their services and HIGHLY recommend them!

Gavin was super easy to work with, he was very responsive and had great recommendations for us especially since we were indecisive. The day of he and his crew didn't bother me with anything and made it all happen. Food was a little slow coming out for some folks but I didn't notice, plus we we're on island time so what do you expect! Food was great. Overall great vibes, and even better food. Asher &Olive was such a great company to work with! Gavin was so helpful with not only the food and decor but referring us to other local vendors. He was very responsive. The food was AMAZING! Our guests are still talking about it. Hire them!!! You won’t regret it!

My wife and I worked with Gavin at Asher & Olive throughout our planning process and the wedding went off without a hitch. Everything was perfect!

We considered a lot of other options on the island like local restaurants, or lots of other off-island caterers before deciding that A&O was a great fit. The food menus looked good and had a lot of options for a fresh Pacific Northwest flavor. Gavin was very easy to communicate with and help us tweak our menu until everything was perfect and fit well into our budget. I never felt nickle-and-dimed and the crew helped us out with plenty of things that other caterers would have charged us for - things like extra serving ware and buckets, or serving food and drink we provided. He was super flexible to our needs and had a calm demeanor that fit well into our somewhat low-key occasion (~70 guests). I felt that as long as I was clear with our plans and desires that I could trust him to get everything done.

On the wedding day all the food was delicious and the Asher & Olive crew were great partners to have. They dropped everything off the day before, set up their tables and decorations quickly, served food on time, and were available when needed but stayed out of the way. We couldn't have asked for a better caterer! Definitely check them out for your Orcas wedding!

I loved working with Gavin and the Asher&Olive team! Leading up to our wedding, Gavin was very helpful answering any and all questions that I had and pointing me in the right direction when something was confusing. Our wedding was outdoors, and he came up with a really fun idea for an interactive s'mores bar for guests to enjoy by the fire, and everyone loved it! Not to mention, all of the food they served was delicious! I'll never forget the salads they served in the little takeout boxes. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Gavin and Asher&Olive to anyone having a wedding on Orcas Island!

Gavin catered our wedding on Orcas Island and it was the best experience from start to finish. Even from the first phone call, he was attentive to every detail and adapted to everything request we had. Not only did he provide an amazing, professional catering experience, he graciously helped with the actual planning of the wedding. We were planning from a different state which made things difficult not being able to see physically see the venue, decorations, etc. Gavin was there every step of the way offering to go to the venue site and even came to do a walk through the day before the wedding. The service was amazing and the food was even better. He cooked everything in-house the day of and we barely even knew him and his team were there. We opted for a buffet-style dinner and it was honestly one of the most delicious dinners I have ever had. He made it so easy to put together the menu by listening to everything that we hoped to have and had the first draft back to us within a few days. We gave a few adjustments and it was switched in the blink of an eye. Gavin made the whole catering experience a breeze and to top it all off he is just an awesome guy. I would highly recommend this company for anyone needing a caterer on Orcas Island, WA.

Reflecting over the year I wanted to express my gratitude to Gavin and his amazing team. Every detail was considered for our event. Gavin was attentive to all my questions (even the silly ones!), the food was outstanding, and the whole vibe that Gavin created was magic. SO many people raved about the catering and we owe it all to Gavin. This was the second time we used Asher & Olive and I would hire them again in a heartbeat. They have made both our events memorable and stress free. The second time I was even more relaxed because I knew Gavin would take care of me so I could focus on other things and most importantly enjoy my event and my guests. Gavin is INCREDIBLE at what he does! I booked Asher and Olive for my wedding on Orcas Island this past September, and I was amazed with the results. From the booking and menu building process, the complete set-up and meticulously detailed display, to the mouth watering food, and then the entire cleanup - the Asher and Olive team handled everything.

Gavin was so friendly, professional, and just an absolute pleasure to work. As a stressed out bride planning a wedding, Gavin’s positivity and humor was a much needed breath of fresh air!

When it comes to the food, I don’t even know where to start! We served salmon and filet mignon, and both were OUTSTANDING! The appetizers were phenomenal (especially the clams). Honestly, there was not a single thing served that disappointed. My guests could not stop raving. I appreciate good food, but I also really appreciate good presentation; Asher and Olive nailed both!

One last thing - I got married at a private residence, and because I don’t live on the island I was having a hard time determining where we would set up the tables, bar, buffet, etc. Gavin went the extra mile, visiting the venue several times in advance to scope out the location and send me recommendations. Additionally, he offered to come the day before the event to drop off the larger pieces (tables, decorative items, etc), which made day-of preparation a breeze!

Just all around, hiring Asher and Olive was a huge stress relief; they handled everything and I can not thank them enough!! Catering needs, whether large or small, on or off Orcas, this team is the way to go!!

Gavin was super helpful in planning out our wedding food for the total number of people we were having and was always available to chat whenever I needed to modify or change anything. Even though our wedding was on Lopez, he made the between island transport seamless. Really tasty food and friendly staff too! Highly recommend
