Arts of the Albemarle is a regional non-profit arts council located in Downtown Elizabeth City, North Carolina in the recently renovated historical Lowry-Chesson Building, now called The Center. This world-class facility is home to over 250 artists, craftsman and photographers, the AOA School of the Arts, a multi-discipline visual and performing arts after-school instructional program and the Maguire Theatre, a State-of-the-Art 230 Seat performance space. Overall, we offer a 15,000 square foot building that is suitable for most any event. The atmosphere of the Jenkins Gallery is warm and inviting, while the Maguire Theater and Twiford Room offer a blank canvas allowing you to capture the vision and theme of your event.
