I see you through a lens of deep curiosity, driven to capture each moment exactly as it is—honest, untouched, and true to the life unfolding in front of me. I love people. People passionate about their loved ones, their craft, or just simply their surroundings. I want to document what makes you truly feel like you, but as a fly-on-the-wall of sorts.

Life has a sneaky way of speeding by—one minute you’re wiping peanut butter off the walls, the next you’re wondering where the years went. Between the chaos and daily inconveniences, there are quiet, beautiful moments: your child’s sleepy grip at breakfast, your dad in his throne-like chair with the same old paper, your grandma glowing on her daily walk. These are the moments we miss while just trying to get through the day. My work is to catch them—honest, tender, sometimes hilarious—so you and the generations that follow always remember the life you lived, exactly as it was.

I’m Anya, a digital and film documentary lifestyle photographer with 12+ years of experience capturing real, unscripted stories. Born and raised in Oakland, I spent seven years in San Luis Obispo before settling in Sacramento, where I’ve grown unexpectedly fond of the heat and the trees. I’m also a recent kidney transplant recipient—thanks to a lifelong friend with an incredibly generous spare—and now an unofficial advocate for organ donation and the undeniable value of life.

Driven by a deep wonder for who people really are, I focus on human-centered photography—capturing honest, simple moments that reflect real life as it happens. There’s something powerful about freezing a perfectly imperfect second in time, without overthinking or overstyling. My work spans portraiture, hospitality and food stories, marriage celebrations, branding, and families—always with the goal of keeping things refreshingly uncomplicated.

Outside of work, I’m usually exploring with my partner and dogs, sharing good coffee or meals with close friends, unwinding by cooking with whatever seasonal ingredients are around, or heading off to a random town with a camera in hand in search of humanity.
