We met Annie at a bridal expo and immediately loved her personality and photography style. When so many wedding photographer's work look the same, Annie's stood out as unique and different, really capturing the event and it's unique moments. I am so glad we chose her! Leading up to the event, she was great with communication. Because we hired Annie before we chose the venue, it ended up involving travel, and Annie made that process as straightforward as possible. On the day of, Annie and Brett were fantastic. They were fun and fit in perfectly with our energetic family. It felt more like they were friends with cameras than hired photographers, so they were able to blend in with the guests without everyone feeling awkward. Even when we did the formal photos, they made it comfortable for everyone, which isn't easy! Our guests all commented that they loved Annie and Brett, and how well their energy mixed into our celebration. When we got our photos back, we were thrilled with what they had captured and the quality of the photography overall. The prints we received as part of our package were great quality as well. I could not be happier with Annie and we would highly recommend her and Brett for any photography needs!

We were looking for a photographer who could really capture moments as they happened, with very little focus on the traditional style of staged photos. So we were very lucky to find Annie!

She is super easy to work with. Before the wedding, she was communicative and professional, and guided us in creating a timeline that was perfect for us. On the day of our wedding, she was a fun and joyful presence, putting everyone at ease. We barely noticed her once she got to work, yet the photos show she was right there for all the best moments. And now we have so many wonderful photos to treasure and share.

WHERE DO I EVEN BEGIN! 😍 My husband, our families, bridal party, wedding guests, and I absolutely adore Annie and Brett. For starters, their photos are stunning. We searched far and wide to find wedding photographers whose work wasn't cookie-cutter. When we came across Annie Bang and Brett Butterstein's work, we knew we found the right people! On top of the final product being everything we wanted and more, Annie and Brett were just fun to be around and brightened an already great day. Couldn't recommend them more!

Annie and her partner, Brett, did an amazing job shooting our Oct. 2020 micro-wedding. When we first reached out to Annie more than a year before our wedding, we didn’t even have a date yet, but we had seen her work online and wanted to meet with her to see if she would be a good fit. After chatting with us in a coffee shop for more than an hour, we left not only certain that we would love Annie’s work and approach, but also that we would really enjoy spending our wedding day with her! Although we initially hired her to photograph our wedding pre-pandemic, when we needed to make changes to our wedding date, location, and size, Annie was more than willing to still work with us, which was really important to us, because we definitely wanted Annie to be our photographer! Annie and Brett were so much fun to have around on our wedding day, and I think part of why our photos came out so great was having them there felt like being with just another friend or family member—but ones that so happen to be able to take amazing photos! They really captured all of the love and emotion of the day, and we are so glad that we will always be able to look back at these photos to remind us what a truly special day it was.

TLDR: Annie is awesome and you should book her for a family documentary photo shoot because you will end up with the most amazing photos, ever.

While I think styled family photoshoots can be great, I have always wanted to do a documentary-style shoot for a variety of reasons. For starters, my preschooler doesn't like to smile on demand for the camera so spending a ton of money on a photoshoot really wouldn't be worth it. Also, as a stay-at-home mom, I feel really wanted someone to capture all the little moments in our day (e.g., the snuggles, the tantrums, the story times, etc.).

I found Annie out of sheer luck and booked her for a six-hour documentary-style family photoshoot on Mother's Day. She was really responsive leading up to the shoot (we communicated 100% via email).
When she got to our house, she took the time to connect with our kiddo. She was warm and friendly, and made sure we were all comfortable. It ended up feeling like we were hanging out with a friend during the photo shoot.

And...oh my God, I cried when I got the photos from her. They were so poignant and beautiful... she truly has a gift of documenting the little things that might seem like nothing at the moment but turns into a wonderful image that captures the soul of the family.

Words cannot express how happy we were with Annie and her work. During our first meeting, Annie truly wanted to get to know us, and her unique approach to tell our story through candid photos is what set her above the rest. On the day, she and her team made everyone so comfortable that it was as if she wasn't even there. This made each and every photo so priceless as she captured the purest energy of the moment. Annie, we will cherish these images forever. Thank you!

From start to finish, getting to know Annie has been a pleasure. She is kind, bright and a joy to be around. My family still sings her praises and are all in love the moments she captured. Before the wedding she was always available for emails, phone calls and even person to person meetings.

During the big day she was a member of the party who made work seem like fun. She even tagged along to the afterparty to catch my new husband literally dancing on bar tables (hello coyote ugly). The photos of our big day are timeless and radiate the authenticity and joy of each person in them.

I consider Annie to be a creative genius, loving person and dear friend.

One of the best decisions we made was hiring Annie as our photographer, from our first meeting to final product she was fabulous! We are so thankful for her artistic eye as well as her professionalism. She was fun and friendly and made us comfortable with the process as she shared our vision of not having overly posed and staged photography. Her candid photo journalist style completely resonated with us and she helped tell the story of our day through photos. The end result was breathtaking and we are forever thankful for Annie. Many of our guests commented that they didn't even notice us having a photographer, the end product showed, Annie was everywhere! Thank you Annie for truly capturing our day!

I would give Annie six stars if I could! Our wedding was made so much more perfect because of Annie, and we're left with priceless photos that perfectly capture the uniqueness of us, our wedding, and our guests. We still talk about how hiring Annie was the best choice we made for our wedding.
We loved Annie from our first conversation with her. She was fun and friendly, while impressing us with her professionalism -- she was so organized and patient with us! We also found her to be very experienced in so many ways. She had photographed in so many locations and venues including ours (La Venta), and had great suggestions for us without coming across pushy at all.
Artistically speaking, we loved the candid style of photos that Annie takes. She'll of course take the shots that you request, but she also adapts to the environment and the people. She'll blend into the crowd so that there isn't any chance of guests being awkward or camera shy. The result is an amazing set of photos that really capture the feeling of the day. Annie was (is) amazing! She is so incredibly friendly and fun to work with. My fiancé and I had an unusual location for our engagement shoot and she was so patient and accommodating while we were trying to secure it and work out the details.
