If you're a bride to be and reading this, look no further! Personally I have tried on so many wedding dresses (lost count!) from Saks, Kleinfield, Bridal Reflections, RK Bridal, Gabriella Bridal Salon... basically any bridal salon you can name in NYC! None of them came out the way I wanted and I felt so defeated because I thought you're supposed to cry and be like "Omg this is it!". Thankfully one of my bridesmaids came to save the day and introduced me to Angelo Lambrou's atelier. From then on it's been nothing but a bliss! I love Angelo's atelier as it was so serene, beautiful and cosy! Every visit brings joy and laughter along with vino! The moment I told him my vision he sketched out exactly what I had in mind to the T! Every single step of the creation process is flawless and you really get to appreciate and enjoy couture! His artisan and craftsmanship has no match and he is simply the sweetest human being! He helped me complete the look with a custom birdcage veil, shawl for the ceremony, dramatic detachable cathedral train and even made my wedding shoes for me! I can't thank Angelo enough for helping us on our wedding day and made every moment magical (especially the photos!). He was truly there every single step of the way and even helped to fix last minute dress drama for my mom and bridesmaid! Angelo is beyond the best of the best. My dress was stunningly beautiful and fit perfectly. His aesthetic, attention to detail, and skill level are out of this world, not to mention how fun it is to be around him. He is willing to work with you to make your dress the dress of your dreams. I had a fantastic experience dress shopping at Angelo's. I only had 6 months to plan my wedding, making it crunch time to find a dress asap.

I thought dress shopping would be easy as I really do not like elaborate, giant princess wedding dresses. I figured it would be pretty easy to find a simple and elegant dress. WRONG - it's easy to find a simple and ugly, or simple and overly plain, or simple and polyester wedding dress, but not a simple, elegant dress with amazing lux fabrics and ridiculous details.

Luckily I found Angelo on New York Magazine's bridal gown list, and oh am I thankful that despite my fear that this was beyond my budget, that I visited his studio any way. I really thought all the beautiful gowns on his site would be financially out of reach, but I found the pricing to be reasonable and he was able to create my custom dress within 3 months. His off the rack options are good but he was also very willing to create a custom design with me within my price range, based on my style. I was really pleased that even with the custom option, Angelo was able to meet my tight timeline which is unprecedented in the wedding industry. We even ran into some snags with color and fabric that he was able to alleviate before the time of delivery.

As an added bonus, you'll also be getting really awesome wedding feedback from someone with amazing taste while you chat during the fittings. My dress came out great and everyone loved it. I'm not someone who was looking to be a princess for the day, but everyone appreciated how much it embodied my style and was the perfect dress for me.

Five stars is just not enough for Angelo. From the moment I walked into his beautiful shop, I knew I didn't need to go anywhere else. When I liked the top of one dress and the bottom of another, Angelo offered to combine them into one perfectly unique dress. I returned for multiple fittings and when we had to make some adjustments at my final fitting, I know Angelo wouldn't let me leave with anything but a dress that looked and fit perfectly. Not only that, but he made great recommendations for my hair and jewelry AND made the beautiful birdcage veil I wore. Whenever I got stressed about wedding planning, I could always think of Angelo and my dress and it would brighten my day. I felt absolutely beautiful on my wedding day and there was something really special about knowing I had a dress that no one else has ever or will ever have. Every girl deserves to have the wedding dress experience that Angelo provides.

I discovered Angelo’s shop when it used to be in the East Village. For years, I’d walk by his boutique and there was always a jaw-dropping dress in the front window. I prayed for the day that I might have a reason to walk inside. Once I was engaged, I made that happen. I know that dress shopping is supposed to be part of the experience, I was really dreading it. Enter Angelo to the rescue!

As soon as I entered the shop, I knew I was in good hands. Angelo and his assistant were an absolute pleasure to work with! He was down to earth, efficient and incredibly thoughtful. From the moment I entered the studio,I was given personalized attention and felt comfortable and at ease almost immediately.

Angelo is great. You show him a couple of pictures and he knows exactly what you are looking for and what would look most flattering on your body. He was especially helpful in listening to my preferences and selecting a few sample dresses for me to try on.

In the very first meeting Angelo wanted to know everything about the wedding. I felt like I was meeting with an old friend to catch up. It was then that I knew I’d found my dress designer! After a brief chat, he began sketching a dress for me. He works with high quality fabrics which I think is extremely important, so if you are looking for the best, this is the place to go. The couture designs are to die for, original and breathtaking. The possibilities are endless. My dress is ivory with bits of seafoam and mint flowing through it. Absolutely stunning.

I felt so gorgeous on my wedding day and the compliments were endless. The entire night, I felt comfortable and I was able to move and dance the night away without feeling constricted. In the end, it really IS all about the dress and how you feel in it.

Angleo's shop in the East Village was 2 blocks from my apartment - I always walked passed and knew one day I would go in there to look at his beautiful creations when planning my own wedding. This is the first and last place I looked for a wedding dress - although I tried on many of his beautiful creations it was the very first one he picked out for me that was to become my wedding dress. Simply stunning! The dress was light, delicate and gorgeous - we customized the Kaoru dress and I received so many compliments on it for it's beauty and uniqueness. And, I danced the night away without feeling laden down by my dress - it just bounced beautifully along! I wouldn't change a thing about the whole experience!

After going to two big name bridal salons in NYC - Gabriella's and Bridal Reflections - I almost called off my search for a wedding dress. They were factories, complete with pressure sales tactics and 3 page contracts for a dress purchase.

I walked through the doors of Angelo Lambrou's magical boutique and it was everything I hoped dress shopping would be! I made an appointment on a Friday night and brought my best friend. We were promptly greeted by Angelo - the designer himself. He welcomed us in, opened a bottle of wine, poured us a glass and told us to try on everything - to have fun! And we definitely did.

We spent about an hour and a half with Angelo, talking about each dress and what could be changed or mixed and matched between styles to create something just right for me. His designs are truly exquisite and since everything is made to order, he can customize something just for you! I'm a huge fan of his signature elements - lightweight fabric, movement, and architectural flare. It was important to me to look amazing and be comfortable on my wedding day.

I didn't go the custom route because I found the perfect dress among his racks - the Chia - which had beautiful asymmetrical layers in the skirt and weaved fabric across the bodice. It was light weight and looked gorgeous when I danced. The movement in the dress was unbelievable - it made me feel like I was walking on a cloud!

Angelo himself is an incredible human being. He has a contagious energy and is truly passionate about what he does. He always looks out for the best interest of his customers, and there is no pressure or contracts. Your dress is made from scratch with alterations included in the price. He even does all of his own dress fittings, making sure it is nothing less than perfect. On a return visit, my mom even found her dress in his cocktail collection and she looked stunning! Go see Angelo, you'll fall in love.

I am SO glad I found Angelo! I still blew my dress budget, but remember that your dress is made-to-measure here (Angelo will have as many fittings as you need to get things just right). Not having to worry about alterations was huge for me. My silk dress was incredibly airy, comfortable, and cool. I just loved wearing it.

I mostly went dress shopping by myself, so it helped that Angelo would help me take pictures during the fittings to send to my mom and friends. Some boutiques in the city would not even let me take photos. The sample sizes fit me (street size 4), and there also appeared to be larger sample sizes available to try on. At the end of my first visit, Angelo provided me with the name and price of the dress I liked the best. There was no pressure to buy or sales tactics either.

Note that the designs featured on Angelo's site may not be available anymore, but Angelo will work with you to combine different elements from his work to make a dress just for you. There are high heels and bra cups available to try on with the sample dresses, and Angelo has a variety of trimmings nearby that he can pin onto the dress to give you an idea of how a modification would look on you.

Given the amount of custom work, I think the extra money I spent was well worth it. Angelo does the initial consultation and all fittings himself, and the actual work is done on-site by seamstresses. It's worth noting that sometimes minor things may not be communicated to the seamstress (lost in translation or simply forgotten), so it's a good idea to keep a list of the requests you've made, so you can be sure they are done!

Communication with Angelo via email was also very prompt and clear. You can make an appointment by email or on his website.

I found Angelo through a friend's recommendation and I cannot recommend him enough! He made The Dress the least stressful part of my wedding planning process. You feel like you're in a friend's home when you're at his atelier. He made the entire dress shopping (and fitting) process relaxed and enjoyable.
