We loved working with Allen for our wedding photography! He is professional, detail oriented and extremely efficient! It was clear he knew our venue (the Nasher Sculpture Center) well, as he navigated the garden and varying light with such precision.

My first experience with Allen Tsai was when he photographed my sister's wedding. My sister herself, is a photographer. The second time I heard his name was at my best friend's wedding. HER photographer had also used Allen Tsai for her wedding. I decided to take some time and followed Allen's presence on social media and the internet. Turns out he's VERY decorated and has been featured a lot in publications. His clients are worldwide, and all the photographers I respect want HIM for the THEIR weddings. If he's the professional that all the other professionals use, I knew I was never going to entertain any other photographer.

The second I got engaged, I told my wedding planner we had to secure Allen. And that's what we did. THANK GOD because it takes a special photographer to handle everything an everyone that was, My Wedding.

I got married in Downtown Dallas and my wedding had very "city" vibes. I didn't want to have every "conventional" wedding party shot, and so I had tasked Allen with the burden of making my wedding photos look like "something off the cover of Vanity Fair." Not typically his route for weddings, and also confined to a VERY tight timeline, somehow, Allen was able to execute my vision.

More than that, every shot from the reception is PERFECT. The lighting was consistent in every shot (and let me tell you, the lights from the stage and darkness of the room was all over the place that night). He captured beautiful portraits, but also grabbed very intimate moments between myself and my husband, our friends, and our family - shots that we didn't know anyone was watching. The photos were edited and turned in record time (amazing considering he shoots digitally AND in film) and the gallery of proofs was enormous. This was so important because I've heard HORROR stories from friends whose galleries were pitifully small since the photographer didn't have very good content to return. The gallery is easy to use navigate and he even offers printing services (huge if your local pharmacy does a bad job with prints). Here is my biggest jaw-drop of the experience: Allen worked alone. My wedding had around 225 guests and you would have thought (based on the photos) that he had at least two assistants.

Finally, Allen is also just awesome to work with. He's kind and dedicated to his craft, and he is so respectful and polite. He rocked my wedding and I'm so glad we hired him.

Allen really is the best of the best and we are so thankful to have had him capture our big day! He was such a pleasure to work with and his photos truly left us speechless! He was sure to capture every little moment and detail and we are so happy that we placed our trust in Allen for the photos that we will cherish for the rest of our lives!

Allen is hands down one of the best photographers in Dallas! His pictures are very natural and airy. I decided to contact him and asked for pricing. Yes, I know that his pricing is on the high end so I was a little hesitant about Allen. However, after talking to other friends who got married before me, they all told me that pictures are the only things you have left to look back after your big day and they would rather spend more money on a good photographer if they could. I then contacted my wedding coordinator and asked her if she has worked with Allen before. She told me that Allen is one of the best photographer in Dallas and if he's even available on my wedding day, I should really book him. My wedding coordinator vouched for him so I feel a lot better and I went ahead and booked Allen. And let me tell you, it's probably one of the best decisions I've ever made. Allen is such an incredible photographer. Word can even describe how happy we are that Allen was a part of our big day. My husband and I are very awkward people. We get very uncomfortable in photos and he made us feel super relaxed while making sure the photos turned out natural and candid. Our photos weren't posed. He knew all about the right angles and gave us directions so that pictures turned out so stunning. He knows how to capture all the precious moments. Our day went by so fast and having him capture those moments makes us realize how beautiful our wedding was. Our wedding has many different ceremonies. We have our Vietnamese tea ceremony, a Chinese tea Ceremony and an American ceremony then the reception. Allen was there for all of it and prioritized capturing every single moment. He didn't have time to eat at the reception because we had so many things going on. One of the best thing that I like about him is that he had experience with videography. He works closely with my videographer and he knows when to step in and out to make sure our photos and video turn out stunning. Allen is also very detail oriented. On our big day, Allen took his time, fixing everyone's attire to make sure they look good in every single frame. My father in law, who is very impatient, complained how Allen made him button his vest. But once he got the pictures from Allen, my father in law was blown away and couldn't be happier. My father in law finally understood why Allen is so detail oriented in every single frame he takes. We are so happy with our wedding photos, we booked him for our maternity session as well. It was truly a pleasure to work with Allen. Don't hesitate to hire Allen. We will treasure these photos forever.

Seriously, stop searching for a photographer and work with Allen!

Firstly, he did an amazing job shooting our engagement photos in Dallas. My husband and I were so impressed with his attention to detail and loved the romantic, ethereal style of his photos.

We had a destination wedding in Carmel, CA, and initially looked at the wedding planner's list of local photographers. BUT we still liked Allen's work best, and knew how good he was at directing behind the scenes, so we ended up hiring him for the wedding and rehearsal dinner!

I couldn't be happier with our wedding and rehearsal dinner pictures! It's really hard to capture the emotions of a wedding, but he truly has a knack for capturing subtle, beautiful moments that I will never forget!

Last but not least, all of the wedding party and family were SO impressed with the level of instruction he gave behind the scenes and how beautiful the photos came out. My bridesmaids were already talking about how they wanted to work with him!

To say that Allen is a true artist when it comes to photography almost seems like an understatement. My husband was actually the one who found Allen when he had come across his work on Instagram and we were both instantly in love with his light and airy style. For us, our wedding photos were one of our top priorities, as they are something we are going to treasure all our life. So we wanted to be sure whoever our photographer was not only fit our style, but also put just as much importance on our big day as we did, and Allen did all of that and more.
I cannot brag enough about him, and yet his work speaks for itself. He has an innate ability to make his client’s feel so incredibly special, as well as get to know them on a personal level. No matter the questions, ideas or thoughts that we threw his way, he continually provided us such undivided attention. Not to mention his ability to give direction.
When it came time for our engagement shoot, my husband and I were both very nervous, as aside from the typical iPhone photo, we certainly were not seasoned pros in front of the camera. But Allen guided us through every second of it, making the entire experience so enjoyable and easy. So when our wedding came, we knew were in good hands, and he did not miss a beat or moment. The way he was able to capture the emotions, love and every detail of our wedding was everything we had hoped for, and it is so special to have such beautiful reminders of that day. Thank you Allen for all you have done for us, we could not thank you enough!

Allen is a rockstar. He was the very first vendor that we booked for our wedding - before the venue or anything - because we were absolutely sure that we wanted to work with him. First he shot our engagement photos, then my bridal portraits, and finally the wedding. Each shoot turned out better and better. He was able to help coach us through posing while simultaneously making us feel comfortable and not at all robotic. When we finally got our wedding photos back, we were honestly speechless; they were beyond anything we could have expected. His work is beautiful and he is so easily able to capture the sweetest moments and the fun moments. And he's such a great person too, which made working with him that much better. Since the wedding, and even before we were officially married, I refer brides to him all the time because I think his work is so beautiful and what every bride wants for her wedding photos!

I met Allen years ago and I knew I would be hiring him for my wedding. I may not have known who I'd be marrying back then but I knew I'd want no one else to be my photographer.

When you begin planning there is no doubt you will come across Allen. You will see his beautiful photographs, features on the major wedding publications and praise from his beloved fans aka newlyweds who made the right decision to have him capture their big day.

Allen was very punctual to everything. He is so personable and made all my loved ones feel comfortable. He speaks Mandarin which is especially lovely because I have many older family members that prefer Mandarin. My father who smiles constantly in life will rarely crack a smile for a picture, which I don't understand at all! But Allen got him smiling for every single picture! What a miracle to be able to look back at pictures and not have people think my father was unhappy about my wedding haha.

Allen went above and beyond what I expected even after the wedding. On Christmas we got the best gift ever when I received a message from Allen telling me to check my email when I had the time. And to our excitement Allen had completed our pictures and were ready for us to view! Words cannot express how considerate that was. He took time from the holidays which I never would have asked for him and got us our pictures. My family got to sit around after dinner and view the pictures, what a fantastic thing! He is an outstanding photographer and a great human being. He's so much fun and the pictures were even better than I could imagine.

Couples spend so much time and money planning their big day, you have to get the best to capture it so that you can look back for decades to come and re-live that day.
