Absolute Strength Stylist is a wedding hair styling service based in Salem, OR. Lead hair stylist Tara McCutchen is a highly passionate professional who loves helping clients look their best for their big day. In this business she is carrying on the family trade, taking over from her mother who worked as a hairstylist for over 30 years. Additionally, her business name is in honor of her family and her brother Chas, who passed away at just 19. Absolute Strength was his brand name, and today Tara carries that on in her own work. With every client, this artist takes the time to fully listen to their needs, creating a personalized service tailored to their celebration.

Services Offered

Absolute Strength Stylist offers a range of packages, allowing clients to choose the beauty experience that best suits their needs. For a more creative experience, Tara can host a hair trial with you, letting you work together and experiment in a relaxed, creative setting. As an on-site hair stylist, Tara can get you ready at your venue, saving you precious time on your special day.

Fantastic Wedding Party Stylist!

I am beyond grateful to have had Tara as our hairstylist for our wedding day! Tara did an absolutely incredible job—not only did my hair look stunning as the bride, but every member of the bridal party looked fantastic as well. Tara brought such a calm and positive energy to the morning, making everyone feel beautiful and confident. She was honestly my favorite vendor of the whole wedding experience.

From the planning to the big day, Tara was attentive, helpful and truly listened to what each person wanted. The styles held up perfectly through happy tears, Oregon coast wind gusts, dancing, and everything in between. We received so many compliments and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Thank you, Tara, for making everyone feel and look their best—you were such an important part of our perfect day!

Saved the day at my friends wedding!

My friend's original hair stylist had to cancel her booking a week before her wedding on 10/28/23, and tossed us all into a panic. I had just booked Tara for my wedding next summer, so I reached out just to check. Thankfully she was available and came to our rescue. Tara was AMAZING to work with-- she was so friendly, fun, and a great burst of energy to start my friends wedding. She did such a wonderful job with all of our hair styling, I didn't even recognize my fine hair with all the volume she gave me! The brides hair was beautifully styled as well, and she even touched up my hair a bit right before she left. I'm so excited to work with her again for my wedding next year!! I highly recommend Tara.

10/10 would recommend!!

After checking out her Instagram, I knew I wanted her as my hairstylist! From trial to bridal, Tara was so much fun to work with and has such a great personality! I was originally worried my hair was too thin, but she assured me that it wasn’t and I loved my look! On the day of my wedding, I changed my mind and wanted a similar look but softer not as textured and she didn’t even blink an eye, said I got you and got to work. I’ve truly never felt more beautiful and my entire wedding party felt the same. Thank you again Tara!!

Dream Wedding Hairstyle

I found Tara though another of our vendors and I could not have been happier! All I had to do was show her a photo example, and she just automatically knew how to duplicate it and have the style come out perfectly. On the day of I asked for a few small changes. We discussed it together and she knew exactly what to do. I was SO HAPPY with the results!! Tara absolutely nailed my hairstyle that seamlessly complimented my dress, make-up, and venue. My friends were also so complimentary of her and she helped make my day amazing. Thank you so much Tara!!

Hire tara!

Tara is the absolute best!!! She went around my schedule for every appointment I had with her, including all of the trials. I came to her not knowing what I wanted, and she showed me the best hairstyles that excelled my expectations. She was so kind enough to stay through my ceremony for my hair change! She has such a fun personality that will brighten up your big day! I would recommend her to anybody!

Wonderful!

Amazing!

Tara is the absolute BEST! I feel so lucky that she was available to do my hair for my wedding. The morning of the wedding I decided I wanted to go in a different direction with my hair, and she worked her magic and brought my vision to life. Not only did she make my hair dreams come true, but she made each of my bridesmaids feel so beautiful. She such a kind soul and so fun to work with! Highly highly recommend!

She makes magic happen!

Tara is the BEST! She did my hair and a lot of my wedding party with ease! She is so much fun and easy to be around! My hair is always a mess and never holds, but my hair was perfect all night! I don't look back at any pictures and think "I probably could touch this up," she's THAT good! I even added a hair comb last minute and she made it work! If I could leave 102083202/5 stars, I would!
