The one part of my wedding that I would change more than anything... the dj. It's my fault I guess because I was going for a good deal, and I got a great price. They are very nice people, just not what I was looking for. If you want "entertainers," then these are your people. They will walk around with headsets on throughout your wedding, do a little comedy routine, and crack jokes... which is fine, just not what I wanted. They make it a show, and they are on a stage... and I really just wanted someone to play my music.... and they didn't even really do that. I had a list and they didn't play hardly any of the songs that were on there... and the music was really important to me. I relayed that to them prior to the event, told them I hated country and rap - and the first song of my reception was a country song.. I was pretty upset.
I felt like I had to constantly ask them to turn the music down... they kept blasting it on top of our guests... it's bad when you have pics of your reception with people holding their hands over their ears. Part of that is the acoustics of the room, but they could have kept it down at least during dinner. I personally asked them to turn it down 5 times. I spent a lot of time and effort on the playlist... and it wasn't hardly used or acknowledged by them. They did what THEY wanted. I would have been happier with my ipod. Their timekeeping was poor, and really stressed me out because I had to make sure things ended on time. On a positive note, they went above and beyond during the ceremony. They set up microphones and music. Unfortunately, the mics didn't work at first... but about 25% into the ceremony, they started to work. They did not charge extra for this service, and I truly appreciated that extra effort.
