My daughter contracted with Jimmy Hussey for her wedding based on a friend’s recommendation.
Jimmy was the right choice. He did the music for the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner and reception. He is all about what the couple wants and makes sure to plan the music based on their preferences. He kept the party going and also acted as MC during the reception.
Jimmy can also go with the flow as we asked to give a 60th birthday shout out that was unplanned.
He really cares about the couples he works with and wants to give them the best event but was good about keeping me, the MOB & wedding planner, in the loop when I needed to be.
It was a great party and I’m so glad that our daughter and son-in-law chose Jimmy for one of the biggest and most important party of their lives.

Music was an important aspect to our wedding for my husband and I. Jimmy was recommended by my cousin who had hired him for their wedding years ago. When reaching out to Jimmy he immediately recalled my cousin’s name and asked if we were related. Jimmy was very personable and attentive anytime that we would reach out. We decided to stream our wedding to family & friends due to COVID (which was new and nerve wracking to us) but Jimmy was there to help every step of the way. His planning process is very thorough and we were thankful for it the day of as everything went smoothly. Guests that attended the virtual portion of the wedding even commented to us on how fantastic Jimmy was at including everyone at home (calling out those who were dancing and letting them know they were being highlighted). Overall we would absolutely recommend Jimmy; he went above and beyond, he made the planning process easy, and is legitimately great at what he does!

Music was a very important element to our wedding for my husband and I. We also are a little different regarding our musical tastes compared to majority of the weddings out there.
Therefore some of our selections were more unique. Jimmy loved it and was more than accommodating regarding it as well.
We had a lo-fi type of ceremony for our processional and then a bit fun and poppy for our recessional music.
We had certain requests which Jimmy accommodated but made sure to seek to understand and gave us his opinion from his experiences to help us plan better without over stepping our wants or changing our vision. A week out he called us and laid out the timeline and made sure everything was taken care of.
Jimmy was super fun and brought life to our party much as you would want from a DJ. He pronounced everyone's name correctly and looked like he was having a great time and in his element at the DJ booth. He checked in with us throughout the night and ensured we were happy. We had a zero request wedding and he handled that wonderfully for us.
Jimmy was very kind, prompt, and fun throughout the whole process and you can tell he really loves what he does. We booked him in 2019 for our October 2020 wedding and one big perk of Jimmy is you are talking to the DJ you are getting for your special night.

If I could give Jimmy six stars for this review, I absolutely would. Our experience with Jimmy was nothing short of flawless! Professional, knowledgeable and enjoyable are just three words I would use to describe our experience with Jimmy.

Our great experience began with the planning process. Jimmy’s many years of working in the industry were immediately apparent and made him the ultimate resource for any and all wedding questions we had for our big day from music selection to the timeline. As a bride with a LOT of questions to ask, it put my mind at ease having an experienced professional to work with that always responded so quickly. We also really enjoyed Jimmy’s online planning portal, which helped keep us organized.

It added great value when we hired Jimmy we knew he would be our DJ for our event - not one of many DJ’s that we had never met from a large company. Jimmy made it clear from the beginning that his main goal was to make the bride and groom happy. Mission accomplished!

My husband and I had an outdoor ceremony. Many of our guests commented on how wonderful it was that they could actually hear the entire ceremony with Jimmy’s sound system and equipment. Jimmy was a master at transitioning from one event to the next and keeping our timeline smoothly moving along from ceremony, cocktail hour and reception.

The reception music selection was truly exceptional. We lost count of how many of our guests told us that our DJ was amazing and that the music he played rocked. Jimmy did a wonderful job of selecting fun ‘oldies’ music to play at the beginning of our reception that brought everyone to the dance floor to bust a move – from our guests in their 20’s to our elderly guests. As the night went on, the music transitioned to pop, hip hop music for the younger crowd and was timed perfectly.

If you are looking for a DJ that creates a smooth planning process, keeps your guests dancing, is always professional and is just an all-around cool guy to work with – then Jimmy is your DJ!

Having Jimmy do our wedding was easily one of the best decisions we made. He is committed to each and every couple and was devoted to making sure the day was exactly what we wanted. Every time we met with him, he was fun, kind, and sincere, and offered great advice. He was incredibly helpful at helping us plan the reception and day of was essential in making it run smoothly. And of course, his music selections were PERFECT and exactly what we were dreaming of. Everyone had such a great time on the dance floor the entire night. Jimmy blew us away with his professionalism, excellence, level of customer service, attention to detail and ability to execute on EVERY level .. it still continues to impress me.

We used his Online Planning Portal to fill out a detailed a questionnaire which also provided recommended songs based on our style and even developed a very thorough timeline for the entire event.

Jimmy setup a final review to discuss every detail in regards to the music, timeline etc. He brought up ideas and suggestions that I would never have thought of, for that I'm truly thankful.

Last but not least, Jimmy was 110% friendly, professional and approachable during the entire wedding day for both our my ceremony and reception. I could tell that he only had our best interests at heart and genuinely wanted us to have the most perfect day. I've received many compliments from my guests, referring to Jimmy as "that awesome DJ". I very much appreciated all the moments he took to check in and make sure I was content.
If we could do the whole day over again, we wouldn't change a thing! I'm so glad A Rockin DJ Jimmy Hussey was part of our special day.

Jimmy is THE BEST! First, we had the pleasure of him DJing my sister in law's wedding before ours. He rocked it! Everyone kept commenting on how the dance floor was packed and what a great job he did! Then, Jimmy did our wedding ceremony and reception. It was awesome!!
