We didn't have a bad experience with A Plus Catering but it wasn't amazing. None of the issues were vital to the wedding but they did cause challenges. It should be noted that we only hired them for event staff/serving and not food.
For starters, they set my date in March even though the invoice said May - it was fixed and didn't really cause an issue other than a little uneasiness. There was more uneasiness when she messaged me to verify that they would be providing food (they weren't going to be). Then, we had booked cake cutting because I was unsure if my cake baker would be cutting it or not. A little over 3 weeks before the event, we tried to remove the cake cutting from our order but Jennine said it was too late to adjust her schedule. That was fine just kind of annoying at the lack of flexibility.
The servers were supposed to serve our buffet and clean up afterwards. They did not serve the buffet, they waited around to start collecting dishes. After they cleared the dishes, the cake issue came up again. We sliced into the cake and then a server came up to me. I told her that I told Jennine that my cake baker was doing it and they were just going to serve it. She said she thought she was supposed to cut it and I told her I'd already talked to Jennine and my cake baker had it under control.
Jennine said we needed to pay our remaining balance on the day after our wedding. Our wedding was a Saturday and we were leaving for our honeymoon the next day. We placed tips in two envelopes for the servers and the final remaining balance in another envelope which was given to one of the servers by my wedding planner. While on my honeymoon in Canada, Jennine called asking for payment. I received a total of 5 calls from Jennine on my honeymoon trying to sort out the money when I told her, I gave it to my wedding planner to disburse.
