Toasting Flutes Engraved.....Yes or No?

R-Lynn, on August 3, 2010 at 11:35 AM Posted in Planning 0 23

Did any of you engrave ya'lls toasting flutes? And if so what did ya'll put? His name on his and mine on mine and then the wedding date on both? Or both our names on both of them? I don't even knpow what's "normal" for this, we werent going to use toasting flutes but we won them at the Bridal Extravaganza so we are now! =]

We didn't have ours done but we had the wedding party's done. We had their names put on them and our names, and wedding date.

My mom got ours engraved and we liked it very much. We also got the serving set engraved too. Both of them said:

    Brian & Veronica

I'm on the fence about this. Wonderin' if I should get ours engraved. If I do, I'll be putting our names and the wedding date on them.

The only reason I'm considering it is because we didn't have to pay for them. We won them, so I figured instead of havving these plain looking crystal toasting classes we will make them mean something by engraving them. I like the idea about putting both names on them and then the wedding date. Thanks girls! Now only if it doesn't cost an arm and a leg to do! =]

We had our toasting flutes engraved. Each has our first name and below is says August 22, 2010.

Our carving set is also engraved and says Crystal & Brian with the date below it.

We just got a set that say "Just Married in Fabulous Las Vegas" with the sign, no personalization. I love souvenir glassware myself, though, so I think engraved ones are cool, too. I probably would have wanted something personalized if we hadn't gotten the Vegas ones.

We are having a monogram of the first letter of our last name and then the date under it in smaller writing.

Get some small stencils (and you can make your own) and some etching cream. You can have your flutes etched for about $15 total by doing it this way...

I did exactly what Sylver mentioned for our wedding party. Flutes I got a 6 pack for 7.99 at Ikea and then the etching cream was about 5 bucks at Michaels..stencils were 2 bucks..I just did their first name initial and it turned out gorgeous! DS did ours and decorated it really nicely for a keepsake one but the ones we drank from at the wedding were plain

We just used some plain ones from our venue. We didn't think it was important enough to spend money on.

We had our done, well my mom did and she had our first name and wedding date on both glasses. I wouldn't of had ours done by choice, but my mom wanted to give it as a give for keepsake. I figure we will bring them out every anniversary. They are so pretty tho.

I like the monogram, that's really pretty! I would be worried that if I did it at home I would mess them up. But I might look into that after i go get some quotes on Friday. =]
