SPANX or Lingerie??? - What's going on under your dress?

I wore spanx. They have some pretty ones now and they were awesome!

It depends on what you are trying to achieve with the undergarments. You will need a long line bra. EVERY BRIDE DOES! If you have ever been to an event and seen a lady pulling up her dress all night, its the BRA not the dress. Your dress sits on your "girls". If the "girls" aren't at attention, then neither is the dress. You need support. Even if your "girls" are man made. They are man made not bionic. They will still fall. As for the rest, its up to you. Whatever makes you feel the most comfortable and secure in the gown is the way to go. Spanx will obviously be the most slimming. You can always change into the "Night" look after the wedding.

You're supposed to wear spanx or shapewear under the dress, save the bridal lingerie for the wedding night. Bridal lingerie is pretty, but does nothing for smoothing you out under a gown like shapewear will.

Spanx then i will change into something sexy once we are back in room

I've heard of spanx "rolling" down, is there any truth to that? I don't want to have to fight with my undergarments all night! =P

No corset, no bra, no spanks, no petty coat, and thinking maybe even no panties to ;-) But that works for my dress (even though I have a set of DD's and a thick waist). My dress hugs, holds, and hides everything it needs to all on its own. The only thing I have to think about is panties or no panties :-P

But I recommend what will be comfy and look best on you. If I had to I would wear my spanks! I love them, but they just won't work with the dress I'm wearing (sea through back).

I don't know when your wedding is, but if it's warm out, you'll probably want less on. In the winter, that extra layer would probably feel good.

I didn't wear anything under my dress... absolutely nothing, LOL. But I was definitely comfortable!! I did have cups sewn in.

I couldn't imagine trying to go to the bathroom in a big heavy bridal gown and trying to maneuver spanx!!

I went spanks. They made everything smooth, and not just looking smooth, but their very smooth texture against the dress helped the dress hang better (instead of skin getting all sweaty & sticky against the dress). Husband didn't care, it was like unwrapping a present getting me out of them and we had a few hilarious moments. Besides when we finally got to the hotel, we hopped in the shower and took a 2 hour nap before we had energy for the wedding night. Wedding day is tiring!

DH had me out of my bustier so fast, I don't think he even really noticed it.....

Spanx are so hot and roll--I have yet to find any that work on my body. My dress was a-line but its being altered into a fit and flare. The gal at the shop said that adding a slip with crinoline at the bottom serves two purposes--adds some volume to the bottom and smoothes you out!

I very purposely picked an a-line dress for this reason because I did not want to be uncomfortable in god awful spanx on my wedding day! I'm wearing them as a bridesmaid for my friends wedding this weekend and I'm already feeling constricted. BLEHHHHHHH

Im toning up before my wedding, since Im naturally athletic that causes me to lose weight and get tighten up in all the right places. That's my plan and I'm sticking to it... So with that said umm I think I wanna do lingerie-white. To each there own though.

In my case:

* Spanx Higher Power (which went all the way up to just under my bust)

* A long-line bra (I think Amy C. and I were bra twins.)

* A crinoline that sucked in my waist, then puffed out below, so it made it look like it was the crinoline, not my body, that puffed out below the waist

I figured that at age 56, I needed all the architectural help I could get from my underwear!

Corset bra (just like Amy C/2D) and Spanx on the bottom...

I warned FH already, be prepared for the spanx... but i hope to lose them BEFORE that point.

I am wearing regular bra and undies. I might as well be comfy in my usual wear. =]

Some spanx can roll but only really if it doesn't fit u right.... Plus if your dress is altered right it can hold your garments in place....I plan to utilize the corset in my dress to push the girl up

My corset tight is so tight that I don't even need a bra, but I would love to wear sexy underwear. however, with photos and a new mother in law in the dressing room so I will wear bottom spanks.

Spanx!!!!! I figure after the reception I can change into my sexy lingerie!!!
