Woops... my last suggestions were all country (I had just read the first comment). Here are other genres:

Something About The Way You Look Tonight - Elton John
You're Nobody Til Somebody Loves You - Dean Martin
Stand by Me - Ben E. King
That's Amore - Dean Martin
L.O.V.E. - Nat King Cole
The Best Is Yet To Come - Michael Bublé
I'll Be There - Jackson 5
Just The Way You Are - Billy Joel
I've Had The Time Of My Life - Bill Medley & Jennifer Warnes
You Never Can Tell - Chuck Berry (do the Pulp Fiction dances!)
In My Life - The Beatles

Ha ha that's funny, cuz i forgot to say no country. :o)

We tend toward rock... new and old.

It seems like a LOT of the songs are about love, and that just seems a little creepy for a father in law dance...

If your father in law is a fun loving guy "We Are Family" by Sister Sledge is a good one they are talking about being family and from that point on you will be family.
