Siesta Key Ladies, one more question

After looking at all of your recommendations, I have to say that you gals really know how to help a girl out!! Thanks!
.
.
My last question is for the ladies that have stayed in Siesta Key.
How much did you have to budget? Hotel (Especially if you stayed in The Turtle Beach Inn), activities, food?
.
.
It would be so helpful to know this!
.
.
Thank you again girlies!!!!

I always stayed at my parents house when I went to Siesta Key so I can't give you hotel reviews/prices but they change all the time so you'd be better off just checking websites for the hotels you're looking at. Or check Travelocity for the area.
Good luck!

You're going to be "in season" so the rates will be higher than summer. I would say check with hotels now and maybe you can lock in the current rate while the economy is the way it is.
Some places we like to go now and then: Ringling Museum, Ringling Mansion (so beautiful), Marie Selby Botanical Gardens, Mote Marine Aquarium (small but interesting), St Armands Circle, downtown Sarasota and West Venice Avenue, Venice for "window shopping" and there is a Planitarium in Bradenton (just north of Sarasota)I'd have to find the name. All reasonable price wise if they seem interesting to you. There is also a jungle garden in
Sarasota but I have never been there. If you head up towards Tampa there's more - The Dali Museum and all kinds of interesting stuff in St Pete.
What kinds of things do you like to do? There may be something I'm not thinking of that you would like better - I tend to lean towards museums etc - could you

I have stayed at the Anchorage and at the apartments/condos right across from the beach parking lot, but for the life of me, I can't remember how much they cost.
I think I rented the 3 bedroom condo across from the beach, for about $1,800 for the week. We had 3 couples that split the cost. You will pay more for a place on the beach side of Beach Road. We stayed on the other side of beach road, but had a wonderful view of the water, since there were no buildings across from us. The Anchorage is also on Beach Road, almost at the corner of Stickney Point Road.
I will be in Sarasota Christmas week, but staying with my parents, so can't offer any pricing advice.
I agree with Artistics suggestions for activities. They also have parasailing somewhere, since I always see them when on the beach. Also, a deep sea fishing charter might be fun.

I just conducted a wedding last night as Turtle Beach. The weather was perfect. I noticed several different hotels, condo's, beach houses with for rent signs on Midnight Pass Rd so I would suggest you check around you may get yourself a good deal. Good Luck to you both!

Thank you ladies!
.
Alafia, didn't you have pictures of Turtle beach?
.
Artistic, you've got window shopping covered and that's my favorite part. As for my FH, he likes relaxing outdoorsy things, like canoeing.
.
Thank you Lois, that guestimate actually helps alot!!

There is a place in Venice sort of off the beaten path - Snook Haven - they are on the river so the might be able to help with canoe stuff. It's a "down home" rustic place - you might try to find them on line. I haven't been there in years so I'm not sure how it is anymore. There are lots of places where you can rent boats or go deep sea fishing if he likes that sort of thing.
I'll see if I can get any current info on Snook Haven.

You're welcome! We always had a blast there - real country.
Sharky's is another place. Great Sea Food and they used to have a Steel Drum Band there "The Trinidudes". It's on the water in Venice and always crowded in season.
