Try San Fransisco! It's not that bad of a plane ride for you, and there are TONS of cool places to see and things to do. Good luck!

I googled this for you too.... just some info/ideas...
Consider spending your honeymoon camped next to a beautiful Nebraska lake or in one of Nebraska's awesome State Parks. If you and your new partner love the outdoors, then you'll love falling asleep together under the stars and waking up together in the crisp fresh air in places like Nebraska National Forest, Niobrara State Park, Lake Ogallala State Recreation Areas, or Indian Cave State Park. Take long hikes together into the woods, horseback through stunning trails, paddle out onto a glass lake, and at the end of the day relax in each other's arms next to a warm fire. If pitching a tent is a little rougher than you had in mind, consider renting a beautiful cabin or cottage.

For additional Nebraska honeymoon ideas and information contact the Nebraska Division of Travel & Tourism at P.O. Box 98907, Lincoln, NE 68509-8907 Telephone: 800-228-4307 or 402-471-3026.

These Nebraska cabins and cottages can offer real privacy and seclusion for your romantic Nebraska getaway. Located nearby Nebraska parks like Crescent Lake National Wildlife Refuge, Niobrara State Park, Lake Ogallala State Recreation Areas, Lake McConaughy State Recreation Area, and others, these beautiful cabins and cottages come with more than four wooden walls and a door. Some have fireplaces and jacunei tubs. Some offer more basic amenities than other, but they all offer a unique touch of charm and romance. Nebraska cabins and cottages really provide opportunity for rest, relaxation, and time to spend together. Plus the added luxury of waking up in the splendor of nature without pitching a tent. Some cabins may be privately owned, while others are located on state lands. Make certain you know what you'll need to bring, if anything, as the cabin locations can be remote. Not all cabin rentals are available year round due to weather and road conditions. So be sure to enquire.Cont.

I don't know if you always have restrictions on your days off from work, but if you need to save up days, maybe you could have a honeymoon at home. This could be really fun esp if you are moving into a new place together, unplug the phone, cut yourself off from civilization and just act like its only you and your husband in the world. Then if you can work it in later, you can go on the honeymoon you want after you have had time to save money and/or get more time off from work..

I agree with the other posts though...B&Bs are alot of fun too and there should be enough variety so that you can find one to fit your budget!

You could always try a 3-4 night All-Inclusive to Cancun or Riviera Maya if you are looking to really get away. If you go over the weekend you only have to miss a few days of work. My travel agent has found me deals for around $700-$800 for each of us and that included our airfare, hotel and then all of our food and drinks and that included taxes. It was at a 4 star Riu resort and was very nice. You could also set up a honeymoon registry that your guests can contribute to and that will help with the cost as well. If you can splurge on the honeymoon a bit, I would! It's all about the 2 of YOU and this time only comes once! Another great option is Vegas... the rooms at some hotels are very luxurious and affordable. Airfare isn't half bad to get there either.

If you want to use my travel agent it's Kim at Fox World Travel. http://www.gofox.com

Congratulations on your engagement!

Since you are on a tight budget for your honeymoon, my suggestion would be to visit what I consider to be a great website, AGreatAffair.com and create your wedding and honeymoon registry today.

AGreatAffair.com is an on-line cash gift registry that allows couples like you and your fiance to register for anything, including a honeymoon, paying off loans, a down payment for a home, or traditional gifts like china or furnishings. You can even register for wedding expenses… Once more, AGreatAffair.com is created in a way that is tasteful and fun for the wedding couple, and where it is personal for guests who buy gift segments toward particular gift items you've listed on your registry, rather than writing you a check. And you, as the couple, ultimately get cash. If you wish, you may also get a complimentary elegant web page to list your event details (you'll also get other features like on-line RSVP function, guest book, etc). Best to you!

One more thing about AGreatAffair.com. I personally used this website to create my own honeymoon registry when I got married last year in November 2008. While I planned my own wedding however, I realized I had gone so far over my budget that it was hard to afford a decent honeymoon (all my money was literally going toward my wedding expenses). So to help me pay for my own honeymoon, I created a honeymoon registry on AGreatAffair.com. I first created my registry on-line, then invited my friends and family to visit the site. And because of my friends and family's generous cash gift, I ultimately received over $4000 from them which was more than enough to pay for my honeymoon in Hawaii. What I am trying to say here is that I really believe in this service given my personal experience last year. So if you're interested in creating a honeymoon registry to help you pay for your honeymoon, please consider visiting us at AGreatAffair.com. Best of luck to you!
