Delete WW Wedding Website

A, on March 15, 2011 at 2:59 PM Posted in Planning 1 10

Is there any way to delete an already created wedding website on here? I "created" one when I first started, by just kind of monkeying around with stuff, and I decided I didn't really want to do one at all. Buuuuut.... now, if you google FH or my name, our website comes up in the search results, and I'd prefer it just went away.

You can also make it private in your settings, where you can't be searched on google etc. It might be something to do in the meantime, until you can or if you can get it deleted.

The reason why it shows up on Google and what not is because it's a search-able website. Go to the editing website and clear as much info as you can. That's all I can recommend for now. On the right side of the screen there's a section that says "webisite summary". Click on "edit" for the URL and clear all that out!

    Hi AP,

Thank you for your question. It appears you did the correct thing by removing all the pages on your wedding website to start over. This is the correct way to do it. However, we do not have control over what Google indexes. If you had you or your fiances first and last name listed or phone number, Google could have picked up on this to index. Unfortunately when something is updated on WeddingWire it does not automatically transfer into Google searches. You will have to wait for Google to re-index their information from WeddingWire.

If you have any other questions, please email support@weddingwire.com Smiley smile

Does anyone know how to delete the text box around the text on my website? I hate it. It makes the page look amateur. I tried everything!

You can click "no" on the option "make website searchable" in the Settings panel. That will keep it from being searched on Google etc...still trying to figure out how to delete it permanently.

I was able to find my "not searchable" website on a public computer by googling my (distinctive) first name, my fiance's first name, and the word wedding. It had the date and everything. I am now in a panic that my stalker has found it. Desperately trying to delete the whole site...thanks Wedding Wire!!
