Backdrop ideas help!!!

Minji, on June 1, 2014 at 9:32 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 10

Hey Ladies!!!

I don't know where most of you live... but I live in Vancouver!! Smiley smile

Anyone familiar with Riverway Golf Club in Burnaby??

I'm having my wedding there and I want to cover up the ugly grey cement wall (that has a fireplace built in in the middle) with a backdrop for my ceremony..cause I don't want ugly grey cement as a backdrop for my ceremony!!! (and maybe I'll leave just the fireplace to seen)

But how?!?!? and with what??!?

Any ideas??

Thanks!!! Smiley smile

My venue has an AV department that will be using hanging lights to create a backdrop that transforms the room. It is costing around $800, but it will be worth it. If your venue does not have a department that takes care of this contact a party planning company they can probably help you out.

Ill attach a picture of the backdrop for our ceremony

We are building our own backdrop with curtains from Ikea ($4.99 a pair x3 pair) and a led lighted curtain ($49.99 amazon free shipping) and PVC pipe (my FH owns a plumbing company) total it will be less than $100. You can google "PVC curtain back drop" and it will give you step by step directions.

We are covering all the walls with curtains and attaching them on the cheap white metal rods and command hooks to cover ugly wall you can find curtains for cheap or make your own for cheaper. We got sheers for most of the walls and put in solids in certain spots to cover a two fire places it cost me about 200 to do a 3000 sq foot room ( 45'x65' room dimension). the wedding isn't til next year or I would send you the pics of the room.

I am going to make two of these with the assistance of a bridesmaid who is great at building stuff. We are going to use them as backdrop for the ceremony and then at the reception for some photos. Afterwards I plan to keep them in our house.
