Ellie did a fantastic job at our wedding. Her price was extremely reasonable, especially considering she brought an assistant and traveled 100 miles. She was like a ghost darting around all day/evening-- we hardly noticed her but she captured so much! She was very good about asking me questions beforehand to make sure what she shot would be in line with my expectations. A couple pieces of advice, regardless of what photographer you choose-- if you want shots of getting ready, makeup/hairstyling, your dress before you put it on, your shoes, etc, then make sure to book the photographer for enough time. We wanted to save money by having her for less time but I didn't really think about what wouldn't get photographed. And when you work on a posed shot list for family/bridal party, keep in mind how long these shots will take. I felt really bad torturing all these people with a long list! As far as choosing a photographer, I highly recommend Ellie!

Fabulous wedding photographer! Great sense of style, very in tune with us, and never in the way! Ellie and her assistant arrived early and took tons of photos of preparations, but we never felt rushed or stressed at all. Ellie is amazing!

Ellie Bolton did a great job at our wedding. My husband is a photographer as well, so he was looking for professional, well-edited and well-exposed shots, along with a good price. Ellie was one of the only ones we found that achieved all of these goals.

Day-of, she and her assistant went with the flow of the wedding and when things changed (as it always happens), they were good-natured, helpful, flexible, willing to get shots as events occurred. One example: our cousin played a prank during the reception and paid a street-performing folk group to come in and sing 3 songs, caught us all by surprise. Even though it was after her contracted time, Ellie said she would wouldn't miss these shots and stayed after a bit to catch these on camera.

Her shots of the ceremony were exactly what we were looking for, and the candid shots blew us away. For anyone in the Richmond or Charlottesville area, Ellie would be perfect for your event.

Ellie did an amazing job at our wedding! She busted her BUTT to get the best pictures of us, our guests, and our families. She has a wonderful eye for capturing special moments, and the quality of her images is incredible.

I didn't like the color of my bouquet and I mentioned to Ellie before we really got into taking pictures that I was likely to leave them out. She casually mentioned that she could make them pinker in the pictures. When I got the photos back she had deepened the color so that they looked a bit more like I had imagined.

Overall, Ellie is incredibly professional and also has a little bit of magic up her sleeve. I strongly recommend her!!!

Ellie is awesome!! I am so pleased with all of my photos. I love to look at them and relive the day. She truly captures moments and feelings.

When I was looking for a wedding photographer I basically went to Google and looked at websites of area photographers and looked at their portfolios. Ellie's portfolio on her website really struck me as the feel I wanted for our wedding. She's excellent at really capturing the moment through photography. Ellie took our Engagement Photos at Maymont Park and on our wedding day. On our wedding day, she was there at 9am to take pictures of the bridal party getting ready and her assistant was there at 9am with the guys to take pictures of them getting ready. They stayed all the way until the end of the reception at 8pm. And the pictures turned out amazing – I couldn't ask for a better portrait of my entire wedding day from start to finish.

Ellie is an excellent photographer. I loved all of my pictures. She could be slightly more responsive to emails and check in more often, but overall I am extremely happy with all of the photos. The photos perfectly capture my wedding day. She is also very easy and fun to work with.

We were thrilled when we received the link to view our wedding pictures online! We had some extenuating circumstances with site locations and traffic for pre-wedding pictures but Ellie handled it like a pro! She and her second shooter were constantly working, non-stop, and even were so nice to record and impromptu rap my husband performed during the best man's speech.

I agree with another poster that Ellie seemed a little unsure of how to handle large groups of people, and even though I sent a shot list ahead of time, it was a bit chaotic during family/ bridal party shots.

We also have yet to receive our CD with all of our images on them 7 weeks later. When I contacted Ellie two weeks after the date she told me she would mail them out, she said she forgot and would send them soon. How do you forget to send your client her photos after she reminded you?
