Alecia and I have been friends since way back but I can assure you that had nothing to do with our decision to use Alecia for our wedding in Hawaii. Once my new wife was exposed to Alecia’s work, it was no longer an option but a requirement! In fact, at the time that we were planning our wedding, Alecia was seriously toying with the idea of joining the Peace Corps. Mandi was not going to let that stand in her way. She began scheming immediately how we might get married before her departure or getting her back somehow for the event. Thankfully, we were not the only ones to appreciate Alecia’s talents and that she now is able to make a living doing what she loves.

Having been friends with Alecia for so long, I was intrigued to see how creative, professional, accommodating and thoroughly expert in understanding the stresses and opportunities that make up a wedding. She knew what was coming up before we did and already had a game plan how to make the most of it, completely relieving a stress from my wife and me. Alecia is not just focused on the event itself but all that leads up to the day; she helped me capture our surprise engagement here in Saint Louis and even woke up at 3 in the morning to make a trek around the island before the sunrise for a spectacular photo shoot the day before … IMPRESSIVE. All the more so since it was her idea.

What we really want to say about Alecia’s work, however, is the results. She is not the sort of photographer that wants to fall back on Photoshop, but rather spends the time upfront to get the shot right the first time. Let me assure you completely … it shows! There is not a time that our wedding has come up in conversation that someone doesn’t remark how ‘absolutely beautiful’ and ‘striking’ they are. We don’t feel smug in agreeing completely. But, we never needed to argue the point. One of our photos recently won a regional photography contest (SEEN 2010) pitted against some formidable competition. It is all the more impressive considering that I’m in the photo! : )

Mandi is already planning the next photo shoot, hopefully our first family session. : )

My now Husband and I were searching for a photographer to help us celebrate our special day. We found Alecia Hoyt Photography, and were nothing, but amazed. Alecia Hoyt is an amazing and talented photography, I have great admiration and respect for her work. She is truly talented and I have never had one complaint from our first meeting until this day. You can tell the quality of someones work by how much passion the person has for their work. She is full of passion and is just as concerned with the "perfect" picture as you are.
I can only say that our wedding started at 6:30pm and ended at midnight, Alecia is so talented that in the short period of time that we had together she pulled together such an amazing array of photography for us that we had 3 CD's full with subfolders in each, over 600 photos, and so many photos that we LOVED I cannot fit all of them into the photobook I am making for our wedding.
I would recommend Alecia to anyone who is looking for a photojournalist that will capture the love and feeling in the photo's. Her work tells a story, and it is one that doesnt need any words or explanation because it speaks for itself.
I will continue to chose her for our family photos from here on out.
She pays attention to detail, has an eye for things, and what meant the most to me is how attentive she was to little things or people that meant a lot to me and made sure to gather more inimate photos of those things on our wedding day.

Oh my goodness ... Alecia and her assistant were the best! Alecia won't budge if the lighting is not right! I highly recommend her for any engagement sesssion, family protraits, weddings, birthday parties ... everything! Her pictures all turned out to be phenomenal! She takes control and lets her best shine because she knows that you deserve the best no matter what the pictures are for. Alecia is the best. Simple as that. Our wedding pictures were beyond fantastic. Alecia took beautiful shots, not only of all of the standard wedding moments, but of all of the fun, smaller moments that you might forget about otherwise. We had pictures taken indoor, outdoor, daylight, nighttime. Alecia dealt with every situation wonderfully, and the lighting is perfect in all of them. She also makes all of the wedding guests feel comfortable while still being able to keep them out of the way when they shouldn't be there. I fell in love with Alecias photos and knew she had to be our photographer! My partner and I had so much fun having pictures taken of us. We would never have guessed it to be a fun experience but Alecia kept us really relaxed and followed our lead or lead us where we needed. Alecia you made our day look like it should be in a magazine! Alecia completely professional, yet personable and easy to work with. Her car was broken into during our ceremony, and she still was focused on us and getting all the perfect photos. Her photos turned out beautiful, and were exactly the kind of photos that we wanted. She made both my husband and I completely comfortable around her, making photos easy and natural feeling.

this photographer was beyond amazing! Not only was she very personable and professional but her photos were beyond anything I could have imagined. The very best photography experience I have ever had! The ONLY reason I marked 4.5 stars out of 5 for responsiveness was because we would sometimes miss each other due to busy schedules, but she always got back to me within a day whether it was via phone or email. Alecia was amazing. She was easy to work with and she always knew how to make us laugh. She did exactly what was necessary to get the perfect shot. We were lucky enough to work with Alecia Hoyt Photography for 3 separate occasions. For our wedding package, we received engagement photos as well as a full day of wedding photos. Two years later, I contacted Alecia to do a boudoir session as a surprise for my husband.
During our engagement session, Alecia really tried to get a sense of us as a couple. She made us laugh and feel comfortable. We felt like she really had great ideas and gave easy to follow direction.
On our wedding day, Alecia really used her artistic eye to capture amazing memories on "film".
