Frequently Asked Questions for Ceremony Music
What ceremony music arrangements can you provide?
Instrumental - Duo, Instrumental - Solo, Instrumental - Trio, Orchestra, Soloist / Vocalist, String - Quartet, String - Quintet, String - Trio

What instruments does your group play?
Cello, Drums, Flute, Guitar, Piano, Viola, Violin

What is your usual attire?
We usually wear formal black attire. If you think black is too dismal or too formal, we will work with your color scheme.

Do you offer live sample performances or CDs?
Most of our ensembles are busy professionals, offering many opportunities to hear us in person. See our official website for tour schedules for the groups you are interested in. Some groups play mostly private events (like the Susquehanna Ensemble, a popular trio for ceremonies). In that case, please let us know where you could come see us, and we'll ask for permission for you to discreetly view part of the event. Other ensembles, like The Reese Project, play public venues at least 3-4 times per month, so it should be easy to find a place to hear them! Please introduce yourself to us if you do come out to hear us, or let us know ahead of time to look for you or reserve you a seat.

How much time do you usually need for setup?
Our acoustic ensembles need about 10 minutes for set-up & 10 minutes for tear-down. The jazz ensembles require electricity & a sound system, so that takes about 40 minutes to set-up, and about 20 minutes to tear-down.

How much space do you usually require?
Each musical ensemble has different space requirements. It makes sense that if you hire a larger ensemble, you'll need more room for them to be comfortable! Solos & duos are very space efficient.

Do you charge for travel expenses? If yes, how much do you charge?
We generally do not charge for travel expenses under 75 miles from Lancaster, PA.

Additional Questions and Answers
How early do you arrive at the wedding location?
We arrive at least 30 minutes prior to beginning to play, to iron out last minute details & get accustomed to the space. If we have a sound system to set up, we arrive in time to finish setting up about 20-30 minutes before beginning to play.

What type of musical ensembles do you offer?

We have classical, folk music, celtic & Irish music, jazz, blues, & vocalists.  For Ceremonies, most people want Classical Music.  For Cocktail Hours & Receptions, anything from background dinner music to high energy dancing.

Can you play our special song at our wedding?
YES!  We can do arrangements of your special song, record it & give it to you on CD.  Ask about pricing.

Do you have DJ services?
No.

Do you have vocalists?
Yes.

I have an unusual request for music from my Greek heritage. Can you play Greek music?
Yes, we can do a few songs from just about all ethnic backgrounds.  Whether you have titles of songs you want, or want to select from our list of specialty songs.

Do you have anything I can use for a small gift for my wedding party &/or guests?
Yes!  CD’s of the ensemble that played at your wedding make wonderful keepsakes, and almost all the ensembles we use have made professional, sometimes award-winning recordings.  Ask about quantity pricing.

What kinds of ceremonies have you participated in?
Our musicians have played ceremonies of all kinds, including Catholic, non-denominational, Jewish, mixed Jewish & other, indoors, outdoors, hand-fasting, on islands, ships, resorts, back yards, & more!  Let us know your special ideas & we'll help find the right music.

Tips and Advice
At your wedding reception, save cutting the cake until about 30 minutes before you want your party to end. People seem to stay until the cake is cut, then take their leave.
