Frequently Asked Questions for Photography
Do you offer special techniques such as hand-coloring or toning?
Our images look beautiful because we are so experienced with wedding photography (our specialty for over 20 years) After the wedding we spend considerable time and attention to detail on each image before presenting the proofs. Our work doesn't stop there. Later when you order specific images for framing or albums each image is skillfully touched up and customized to maximum impact in a natural looking way. That's the key, a natural looking way. Anybody can hit a few buttons and automatically change an image but it takes artistry and patience to retouch and improve each picture individually. Please visit www.TraceyAttlee.com for a look at our finished work.

Do you have experience shooting in various lighting situations?
We offer magazine quality lighting wherever you are photographed, indoors or outside. In twenty years of professional wedding photography we have experienced all ranges of lighting. Tracey knows how to read light and pose brides in any setting, indoors or outside, from a lifetime of experience.

Is your media preference film or digital?
We are exclusively digital, state of the art.

How many photographers do you work with?
Tracey Attlee is the lead photographer always. Architectural photographer Todd A. Smith second shoots and assists with lighting. His work is on www.tasphoto.com

Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?
Tracey Attlee photographs every wedding from start to finish.

Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend?
We prefer to arrive refreshed and relaxed so we only book one wedding per day.

Do you have a replacement photographer in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?
We have never been unavailable on the wedding day but we do belong to a nationwide network of digital wedding photographers. We could find one immediately if necessary through an online section called "Photographer Needed Right Now" on the Digial Wedding Forum.

What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?
State of the art digital cameras, at least four, with plenty of lenses, memory cards and lighting. We also bring a cheerful attitude, a sense of humor and plenty of experience!

Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction?
We have delivered excellent work consistently for twenty years because we always have plenty of back-ups. Furthermore, we faithfully spend hours before every single job checking, cleaning and readying every piece of gear we'll bring.

Do you charge hourly or full day?
Hourly. It is up to you to select how much coverage you would like.

Are you available to shoot extra hours? If yes, how much do you charge for extra hours?
$500 per hour overtime beyond 12 hours.

What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?
Zero, unless there is a meal break. We photograph all day long except of course when the bride or guests are eating.

Do you charge for travel?
Yes, we charge for airfare, transportation, lodging and meals. Clients have flown Tracey and her assistant as far as France to photograph wedding events (Tracey speaks French.)

How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing?
About two weeks.

In what format are the initial proofs offered?
Your proofs are delivered in two ways: online for 60 days and printed in a leatherbound proof portfolio to keep permanently. Online posting is to a private web page that shows the images in black and white as well as color. Friends and family can order their favorite images with Visa or MasterCard from the web page. The online posting can be extended beyond 60 days for a small fee.

How long can the client keep the proofs?
The leatherbound proof portfolio is yours to keep and enjoy forever.

Do you retain the copyright for the photos?
Yes

Do you reserve the right to publish the photos?
We request permission to display the photographs in our online and print portfolios. We understand our high profile clientele cannot grant this for security reasons so we strictly protect the privacy of any client who requests it.

Do you provide the digital files and/or negatives (or copies of the negatives) to the client?
Yes, we provide a printed proof portfolio and a matching CD of high resolution jpgs.

Will images be available for viewing online?
Yes wedding proofs are posted online for sixty days to a private, password-protected web site. Our gallery is silent in that it will never generate those annoying emails nagging you to make an order before a deadline. You can order photographs and albums from us at any time in the future. In fact most brides wait two years and then order a custom made album.

What kind of albums do you offer?
Custom made, custom designed premium leather albums in magazine/coffee table and traditional window mat styles are offerred in sizes suitable for brides, parents and grandparents. We also offer less expensive alternatives that are fun and feature panorama spreads and a wraparound photograph on the cover.

When will the client get the final album?
A custom made album takes three to six months to design, print and bind. The design is first posted online for you to see and approve. Up to three changes are no charge.

Tips and Advice

Have your hair dresser pin in your headpiece securely.  If you do it yourself you will risk mussing your hairdo or having your veil slide out of place.  Wind has a beautiful effect on the wedding veil, be ready for it!

Practice your hair and makeup before the wedding day.  Avoid surprises.

Ask your bridesmaids to call up every vendor the day before your wedding to double check they know what time and where to arrive on the wedding day.  You’ll sleep better knowing everyone has reconfirmed their services and delivery schedules.

Equip your bride’s purse with your cell phone and the cell phone number of every vendor you have retained for your wedding.  That way if a vendor is late or lost you can do something about it.

A lipstick, kleenex, comb, travel sized hairspray, bobby pins and a pressed powder compact with a mirror tucked into your bride’s purse will help with touch ups in between events.
