About Us
From one happy couple to another ... congratulations! We are here because we love to make pictures - pictures of people, pictures of moments, pictures that tell stories. We tell your story, and avoid the cliched. We have been fortunate to meet so many lovely folks, and watch their wedding day unfold. We have SUCH a great time photographing weddings, that in June 2008, we decided to have our own! Unfortunately, we were unavailable to photograph it ... We each caught the photojournalism bug in 2000 - Katye in California, Joe in Pennsylvania. Photography brought us together in 2003 at Syracuse University, when we earned Masters degrees in photojournalism. Covering assignments from small-town cultural festivals to Capitol Hill, we were bound to fall in love with coupling our passion for storytelling with the crazy, teary, funny, somber and moving whirlwind that IS a wedding day. No two photographers are alike, and we are no exception - complementing each other with different styles and ideas. Our process is collaborative, from our first meeting with you, to when we have the joy of looking at your pictures for the first time. (We even like to share a piece of wedding cake at your party ... if that's OK.) We have collectively worked as photojournalists at newspapers in California, New York, Illinois, Virginia and Pennsylvania each for ten years. Katye is currently a photo and video editor at USA TODAY, and Joe is a freelance editorial and corporate photographer in the Washington DC area. We deliver the highest technical knowledge, still photography gear, and post-production software. Each image gets it's own special attention and editing. We use Canon professional gear including Mark II N's, and 30D bodies. Our lenses include 17-35mm f2.8, 50 mm f1.4, 50 mm macro, 70-200 f2.8, 24-70mm f2.8, and LensBaby 2.0. We use Canon strobe lights, as well as White Lightning professional lighting gear and Pocket Wizard wireless transmitters. |
