Supported by an experienced Special Events team, every wedding at the Sonnenalp Club is approached with care, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to creating a seamless and meaningful celebration.

Located in Edwards, just 15 minutes from Vail. The Sonnenalp Club offers an elegant mountain setting surrounded by expansive views from the east of Vail Mountain’s Game Creek Bowl to the south of Arrowhead Ski Area.

Couples may exchange vows outdoors on our scenic putting green, a serene ceremony space overlooking the golf course and surrounding alpine landscape. Wedding receptions continue at Harvest Restaurant, where elevated cuisine, warm hospitality, and refined indoor and outdoor dining spaces create an inviting and memorable atmosphere.

Unforgettable Experience

I would like to simply start by just saying... THANK YOU! There is no amount of gratitude I can express to relay how grateful I am for Amy Lilyquist and the Sonnenalp Hotel team and staff. Our wedding was set for July 4th 2020 and we unfortunately got the news that our original venue would not reopen in time for our wedding... three weeks out! We quickly reached out to Sonnenalp and booked within a day. The level of hospitality Sonnenalp provided made us feel as though we had been clients for months. Within days Amy and her team helped us recreate all of our details: timeline, floorplan, menu, guest experience, room accommodations… they even worked with our external vendors to make sure everyone was updated. I cannot praise Amy and her team enough for all their help and for making us feel welcome and calm despite our stress to pull off our wedding in such a short amount of time. She reassured us it would all work out and it did! Our wedding was beautiful and better than we had ever hoped. We feel very blessed to have been able to celebrate with all our family and friends in Vail over 4th of July weekend despite everything going on in the world. Thank you Sonnenalp for making our special day truly special and one to remember!

Top Quality Mountain Venue

Cannot say enough positive things about Amy and her team. Professional and top quality service from start to finish. Everything was executed perfectly the day of and the care each team member puts in truly makes a difference. One of best aspects of the venue is quality of the food and amenities. We received countless comments on how quality the food was and everyone genuinely enjoyed their meal. You will not be disappointed with anything on the menu and people actually ate the cake because it was so good. The setup of the venue makes for a great day as well. The ceremony site is very intimate and worked well for our wedding of 100 people. The ceremony moves perfectly into the cocktail hour and allows guests to see the reception space in Ludwig’s as a whole new venue. The reception space in Ludwig’s is an absolutely perfect elegant mountain wedding venue. The open roof really makes the space unique and the placement of the bar worked great too. The Sonnenalp and its team surpassed our wildest dreams and we could not have been happier with our choice.

The Perfect Wedding Weekend

My son got married at the Sonnenalp Hotel in Vail, CO a few weeks ago. Every bit of the weekend was perfect. Amy, the coordinator was wonderful to work with throughout the entire process and the day of. The venue was stunningly beautifully. Most importantly the staff was incredible. We cannot say enough wonderful things about it!

Best possible experience

Our wedding at the Sonnenalp was a dream. Everyone there made such an effort to make our day special and to attend to our needs. Nathalia, our event coordinator, did a fantastic job. We could not recommend this venue enough.

Incredible day of wedding coordinator

I just got married at the Sonnenalp and it was perfection. Amy was my day of coordinator, but she was very helpful giving me great advice throughout the whole wedding planning process. She would immediately answer emails and was so organized and knowledgeable. She asked me detailed questions about the wedding that I didn't even think about. The service is amazing, hands down best place to get married. The Sonnenalp is not just any hotel, going there is an experience in itself. Thank you to the wonderful staff there that made my wedding day a dream and flawless!

Thank you Sonnenalp Hotel and Amy for making my destination wedding experience so incredibly amazing.
I currently reside in Florida and found the Sonnenalp Hotel through wedding wire. After seeing Ludwigs terrace (only in photos) I knew that's where it had to be. Amy was great to work with especially considering I am not from anywhere near the area. I relied heavily on her and really appreciated all of the help. We had a bsaufiful Thursday 40 person intimate wedding that went perfectly. Everything about the Sonnenalp is AMAZING and they will treat you as if you are the only wedding they have to worry about. Everyone was so friendly and so genuine. My friends and family are still raving about it. There is absolutely nothing I would change. I look forward to making the Sonnenalp a part of every anniversary we have together. Xo

Throughout the entire wedding planning process, we had the pleasure of working with Sarah Brent and Brie Chaloux, wedding consultants/planners. From our very first meeting to interactions after our wedding, I have never felt like we were “just another wedding.” Each wedding is special, and Sarah and Brie make sure you feel that way. Sarah and Brie were absolutely essential to making our wedding reception a success. They are both friendly, intelligent, hardworking individuals who genuinely want you to have the time of your life. They communicate seamlessly with each other and with the bride to make sure every detail is covered. Importantly, Sarah and Brie never let an email or phone call go unreturned. Sarah and Brie knew what worked best for the venue and helped us make solid decisions that our guests would enjoy. On the day of the reception, the food and service could not have been better. Since we had our pictures taken during the cocktail hour, I had asked Brie to save some appetizers for me. Thankfully, I did!! The appetizers were delicious and had beautiful presentation. Our meal was served hot, and of course, was amazing. I ate everything on my plate. Overall, the hotel staff were courteous, friendly, and helpful throughout the entire weekend. Several of my guests indicated they received a room update. They did not -- the rooms are just that amazing.

Now, my husband and I have another excuse to stay at the Sonnenalp (especially on our anniversary!). And, as a total bonus, Travel + Leisure magazine in 2015 named the Sonnenalp Hotel as one of the top 100 hotels in the world. What’s not to love about that?!

One word: perfection!

Sarah was a dream to work with. Her staff were friendly, professional, funny, and worked hard to make our wedding special. The food was so delicious and the cake was the best cake I've ever had in my life. Sarah is everything you want in an event coordinator for your wedding. She's also funny, professional, very responsive, makes sure everything is done well in advance, she goes with the flow and for me, what I will never forget is two days prior she told me there was nothing else I could do and it was time for me to trust her. I'm so glad I did. My husband and I chose the Sonnenalp because we had so many special memories there already and now we have the ultimate special memory. Sarah may have even had something to do with the perfect weather that day.....

There is not one thing I would have changed about working with Sarah and the Sonnenalp Resort on our wedding. Actually, I would love to do it all over again and wish that we could!!! Our friends and family LOVED the resort and we had the most amazing time. It snowed and we had our ceremony and reception inside with candelight and pure coziness, and everything went off without a hitch. Sarah and her team had the room flipped and everything in perfect order so quickly. She was absolutely amazing. Her emails, her detail, and her personality were A+++. I cannot believe we got to have our wedding there! It feels like a serious dream. I would recommend any bride to this venue, hands down. It's stunning. The bartending staff was great, the cake was amazing.. everything was perfect. I am sad it was over so quickly. We will be visiting the Sonnenalp every year or so for our anniversary! Can't wait! I will never forget our experience there.
