Do you offer special techniques such as hand-coloring or toning?
All close up images of the bride and groom are retouched.
Do you have experience shooting in various lighting situations?
My favorite light is the late day direct sun, the next is just after the sun goes of you site and the sky is filled with a warm soft light. For the indoor reception I use off camera lights to pull the bride and groom out of the darkness.
Is your media preference film or digital?
Digital is the best thing that ever happen to the wedding industry. Images can now be made that before I could only wish for. The spontaneity that's called for when shooting photojournalism is much eraser with digital.
How many photographers do you work with?
Yes I am the only one photographing the wedding and reception.
Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?
Yes I photograph each wedding myself. In the beginning 30 years ago I tried using a second photographer and ended up with pictures the client rejected. Never again, each photographer has his own style.
Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend?
Yes I have photographed weddings on Friday night, Saturday and Sunday of the same weekend.
Do you have a replacement photographer in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?
I have never found a full time wedding photographer with beautiful work that would be available. If they were good then they would be booked on their own.
What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?
I bring 2 complete sets of cameras and lens as well as 2 sets or flash systems. Also I bring off camera lights.
Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction?

Do you charge hourly or full day?
I offer complete packages with proofs, albums, finished prints and total hours of coverage.
Are you available to shoot extra hours? If yes, how much do you charge for extra hours?
My top package has unlimited coverage, I stay until the bride releases me.
What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?
I never take a break when there are pictures to be made.
Do you charge for travel?
I am based in Winston Salem, NC. Any travel over 75 miles one way is charged at $1.00 per miles over the first free 75 miles.
