Grey Rock Mansion stands guard over the historic estate which marks the birthplace of John Eager Howard, one of Maryland’s immortals. From the grand portico entrance, reminiscent of the entrance to Mount Vernon, to its spacious and elegant interior, Grey Rock is the perfect location for any celebration. Use of all four beautiful rooms on the main level, as well a second floor bridal suite, and the French slate patio allows us to welcome groups large and small for a plethora of occasions.

We are the proud home of Simply Elegant Catering, who creates and executes menus on-site for all of our clients. Simply Elegant Caterings is also pleased to travel to over sixty other sites in the Baltimore metro area, including but not limited to private homes, The Grand Lodge, Westminster Hall, The Gramercy Bed and Breakfast, and the 1840’s Ballroom. Welcoming you to our home is always a special pleasure, of course!

We pride ourselves on combining creativity and attention to detail with exceptional service. Every occasion coordinated by Simply Elegant is handled by our event experts. Our well-rounded team of planners, chefs, event managers, and staff work in tandem to ensure that your party is a rousing success! We will assist you with designing a menu specifically tailored to your needs and your guests. We will happily make recommendations in the search for vendors to complete the team, as well as coordinating with them the day of the event. Your coordinator will spend time with you creating the floor plan, and selecting all of the linens that will complete your color scheme. A custom timeline will let everyone to know what has been planed, and the order in which it will occur, and from that timeline our event manager will walk you through your special day. Our ultimate goal is to allow you to be a guest at your own wedding.
