We love performing for weddings. From the traditional to the outrageous, we’ve seen (and love) it all! While planning an
upcoming wedding we realized how difficult it is to pick wedding musicians. We couldn’t find a set of musicians who were
spunky, different and fun...  After all, if the modern bride can find stationary, bridesmaid dresses, even ring pillows that are
hip and cool - where are the musicians to plan a ceremony or cocktail hour that are also hip, modern, fun and understand
the style of today’s bride?

Members of Nina’s Music Book regularly perform at The Plaza, The W Hotels, The Ritz Carlton, The St. Regis, Central
Park, the city botanical gardens & more and have played for notable guests such as Martha Stewart, Elizabeth Derringer,
Amy Goldman and Alan Epstein.  Each member of Nina’s Music Book is a professional NYC musician and has played over
12 years worth of events, wedding ceremonies (inter-faith and non-traditional weddings as well as Protestant, Jewish,
Catholic Mass and civil ceremonies), cocktail hour, receptions, bar/bat mitzvahs, solo performances and concerts. They
have studied with the most noted performers in their field, and graduated with Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from
amazing schools around the nation.

Members of Nina’s Music Book will give your wedding the style of today and the sound of tradition.  Whether matching our
shoes to your bouquet, dresses to your bridesmaids or musical selections to your favorite movie, your wedding is unique
and we will work with you to tailor our performance and repertoire to create the atmosphere you envision.

What will your soundtrack be?

		Nina Smith, Flute Nina can hardly remember a day she didn’t play music and from an early age couldn’t decide between piano and flute. After studying both for 8 years she continued through college with flute and graduated with a Bachelor of Music from Northern Illinois University. Until 2004 she taught music in the public schools while managing her private studio and chamber ensemble. Her trio - “Special Occasions” - performed extensively in the Chicagoland area. Over the course of her music career Nina has studied with flutists Peter Middleton, Robert Dick and Donna Milanovich and has won finalist spots in festivals around the nation.  Now she accompanies weddings and events all across the New York area with members of Nina’s Music Book.  She thinks of NMB as answering the call for young, hip wedding musicians.
		Kate Cassella, Violin From the age of 3, Kate began learning the violin from her mother. Kate continued her studies at Peabody Conservatory and Manhattan School of Music, where she completed her Bachelors in Music Performance. She is currently on faculty at the Bloomingdale School of Music and maintains her own private studio in NYC. In addition to teaching, she is a member of the quartet “Silhouette” and performs extensively as a freelance musician. Kate has also worked with such artists as Kurt Masur, Pierre Boulez, Bobby McFerrin, and Clay Aiken.
		Kristi Shade, Harp Beginning her harp studies at the tiny age of 2, Kristi went on to study at the University of Miami, where she earned her Bachelor of Music with a minor in Music Business, followed by Manhattan School of Music, completing her Masters of Music. She has performed at Carnegie Hall with John Rutter, with Doc Severinsen in L.A., on Broadway with Gypsy and The Apple Tree & on ABC’s All My Children as the harpist for Susan Lucci’s 10th wedding! Besides Ms. Lucci’s nuptials, Kristi has performed for weddings and events since 1994.
