I have only seen a few pictures of my daughters wedding so far, but without a doubt, they are gorgeous. He totally captured the feeling of the day. He had limited time at the venue to take pictures before the wedding, but his organization and professionalism, allowed him to capture shots of the couple that are beautiful. He has done an amazing job with the pictures we've seen and I would highly recommend him.

Matt Mendelsohn is just one word. INCREDIBLE. He is not a typical wedding photographer; He is a true artist and an amazing person to work with. His photography is truthful and candid,it shows emotion and chronicles the most significant moments. Thank you Matt for being awesome. :)

Beautiful photos - got one showstopper coming out of the church that will be treasured forever

My husband and I just got our pictures back, and we could not be more thrilled with how they turned out. Everyone with whom we have shared the photos says, about Matt Mendelsohn, things such as: "he's a genius," "what an artist," and "he's phenomenal!" Matt (and his partner for the day, Kim) captured the true essence and feel of the day, so that looking back at these photos truly does take us back to that moment. We've had our online proof gallery for three weeks and I still can't stop looking at it. My husband and I are eternally grateful to Matt for capturing the spirit of the day in the way that he did. He also took the single-best photo of my parents that has been taken since their own wedding 40 years ago. There are also countless other shots that, just by themselves, are worth what we paid for Matt. So to Matt Mendelsohn Photography (Maya and Ashley and everyone else behind the scenes)--thank you so much.

Matt is an amazing photographer. He is great to work with and really makes sure you take the time to focus on the special moments of your day and not about getting the "right" shot.

We hardly noticed that he was there and he was very prompt about getting our photos to us after the wedding. We have so much fun looking at all of the beautiful pictures and reliving our special day!

Matt Mendelsohn is phenomenal! We could not be more thrilled with our wedding photos! My husband and I had a fairly modest wedding by DC standards, but we were unwilling to compromise on photography. We wanted an unobtrusive photojournalist who would capture our informal, kid friendly wedding in an honest and straightforward way. We didn't want silly, staged photos. Matt's portfolio blew me away. He was a photojournalist for UPI and USA Today for years prior to opening his own business. A lot of photographers claim to be photojournalists, but their portfolios showed a lot of poorly composed, underwhelming images. Matt has over 20 years experience under his belt. He knows his stuff.

Matt has a wonderful, refreshingly laid back attitude. He happily obliged when my husband and I wanted to have some post reception portraits taken in front of the DC monuments (which required us schlepping from our reception venue in DC.) He also was kind enough to drive us back to our hotel in Tyson's, when the classic car we rented broke down!

Matt was our one wedding splurge and an unregretable one. My husband and I have beautiful framed wedding photos all over our house, and on our desks at work. He has my eternal graditude for his amazing work. I can't recommend him highly enough!

Matt is THE best! We definitely splurged on photography, but it was all SO worth it. He is SO talented.

As a former news photojournalist, Matt has a very photojournalistic style. His philosophy is to let your wedding day unfold without tweaking it to get the shots that people so often have on their "must take" lists. I couldn't agree more... I am so glad he captured MY wedding the way things actually happened. He will obviously still does the posed family pictures, but he is quick and efficient at it, and allows you to enjoy your party as much as possible.

My photographs turned out better than I had ever expected, and it has been a real joy working with Matt and his wife Maya to design my album.

I could not recommend Matt and more highly!

Like most, we spent most of our budget and time choosing a photographer. We signed with Matt primarily because we liked how relaxed we were around him and his work is breathtaking, crisp and beautiful. He is a great guy to have around a wedding as well!

I love how he captured us during our ceremony. We had a difficult room to shoot and he made it work. His work is intimate, beautifully composed and very real. We chose Matt because we didn't like the more artificial wedding photography.

I look forward to working with Matt again and having him capture images of our growing family...

We booked Matt late, but he was still available so we definitely lucked out. He was really great to work with and he was able to work with our schedule to do some last minute stuff for us like take our engagement photos & get the matting for our signature photo among other things. I would recommend that you get in touch with him ASAP if you want him as your photographer!

In retrospect, I wish we had taken various other photos that includes our family and friends, so let him know what you're looking for (although don't give him the list of different poses you're looking for), he's very easy going and is willing to work with you.
