Haywood Hall was built in 1799 by John Haywood, the first treasurer of North Carolina. His wife, Eliza, was an avid gardener, and the gardens have been restored to closely approximate her original garden. The magnlia tree that is the centerpiece of our gardens was planted by Eliza.
Do you offer any special packages for rehearsal dinners?
Haywood Hall is available for rehearsal dinners. Our rate is $400 for up to six hours of access.
Do you rent other items such as linens, tables, or flatware?
We provide only the house and gardens. All other services are provided by outside vendors.
Do you require clients to use a specific list of vendors?
No. We do offer a list of suggested vendors, but you are not limited to those vendors.
What restrictions (if any) on music?
In compliance with Raleigh city ordinances, all music must end at 11:00 p.m.
Describe your parking facilities:
Parking is available on New Bern Place in front of Haywood Hall. We are also allowed to use the state-owned parking lot on Edenton Street (across from our rear drive) on nights and weekends.
