What music genres are in your collection?
50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, Big Band, Classic Rock, Classical, Dance, Funk, Hip Hop, Jazz, Motown, Oldies, Pop, R&B, Rock, Soul, Swing
Do you have liability insurance?
Yes
Describe your DJ style:
I tend to be more on the low key scale but it doesn't mean that I completely disappear into the woodwork. I try to be as approachable as possible while maintaining a low enough profile to not detract from the reason that guests are in attendance ? they are not there to see me. They are there to celebrate, and my job is to read and respond to their mood.
What is your usual attire?
For most weddings, I wear a business suit. It varies based on the tone being set by the customer.
If you do not have one of the songs pre-requested by the client, do you require that they provide it?
My music library is constantly updated and I subscribe to more than one service. Presuming the music is commercially available, I will make every effort to acquire it. There are occasions, however, when the couple will provide some of their own music.
How many other DJs do you work with?
If you hire me, I will be the only DJ you will work with. I do have casual referral relationships with a few other professionals.
What is the minimum amount of time you will DJ for?
Four hours is my normal minimum.
Is the client able to meet the DJ before booking?
I always encourage a meeting with the bride and groom whenever possible. There is no better way to find the fit than in a face-to-face meeting.
Can the client submit a do-not-play list?
Of course
Do you bring your own equipment?
Yes. Professional grade equipment is used and every major component has a backup. As an optional service, I can also provide a second, smaller sound system if required for your ceremony or remote cocktail hour.
How much time do you usually need to set up? Do you require that the site or client provide a table for you to set up on?
I request access to the space an hour before the earliest guests are scheduled to arrive. The Contract does require a table and electricity within 50 feet of where I am to set up.
Do you usually emcee the event or talk between songs?
I speak only as much as is necessary. I believe most couples do not want a DJ who loves the sound of his own voice.
What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?
It's preferable for me to take meals at or very near the music station. That allows me to be completely available. It is not a requirement that the wedding party provide a meal, however, it helps to know in advance if that is the case.
What is your backup plan in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?
As mentioned above, I have other DJs that I network with, however in over 20 years of service to customers, I have never missed an engagement. I am proud of that record.
What is your overtime rate?
Overtime, when available, is charged at the same rate as basic time.
Do you charge for travel expenses? If yes, how much do you charge?
In general, there is no charge for travel. I have occasionally been retained for an event that requires overnight accommodations and that would require separate reasonable consideration.
