~ I have always loved weddings, ever since my mom asked my what I wanted to do for my 6-year-old birthday party, and I said, "I want to be a bride!". So I was the bride and my little friends came dressed in their frilliest dresses as my bridesmaids....even had the bride Barbie cake (you remember those? where the cake was her skirt?). Anyway, I started looking at bridal mags in middle school, and even carried around a picture torn from an advertisement of a gown that I just knew I would wear one day!
~ I became engaged to my high school sweetheart, Scott, on Valentine's Day 2001...and the madness called wedding planning began! I planned our wedding for 21 months, and I needed all 21 months! I will spare you the details, but believe me when I say I was obsessed with planning the biggest wedding my parents could afford.
~ Now to WHY I became a wedding planner, after planning my own. As they say, even the best laid plans can go awry, and some of mine did. I had a florist that wrote down the wrong date in his book and a caterer that didn't believe me when I told her to plan for 800 guests. As my wonderful Wedding Day that I had envisioned my whole life, started crumbling, I realized that at the end of the day, I will still be married to my love...and that matters more than the luminaries not being set out or that the tablecloth underskirts are the wrong color.
~ So, I am not here to be a marriage counselor, but to help you undertake one of the biggest days in your life, and make it less stressful and more enjoyable...so you can focus on what really matters! The name of my company also is taken from my experiences. C'est la vie is French for "That's life", and to me it means that no matter what happens, it's part of living life. Every experience has something you can learn from, so take the good with the ugly, and live your life for what matters most.
~ If you will let me, I will help you plan and coordinate for the most special days in your life. I cannot promise everything will be perfect, but I can promise I will do all I can to make it enjoyable and worry-free. So that at the end of it all, you can say, "C'est la vie!"
