About Us
A sought-after soloist for both civil and religious ceremonies, Alyssa's musical training, work in sacred music and experience on the opera, concert and recital stages provided her with a diverse repertoire for both secular and religious events. Her rich, colorful and expressive voice will add warmth and beauty to your special occasion. She will assist you in choosing music and work with your venue's music director and other hired musicians to discuss, coordinate and rehearse your selections.

Alyssa is also a trained cantor for the Catholic mass, working as one of the in-house wedding soloists at the Cathedral Basilica of S.S. Peter and Paul, and currently as a cantor and wedding soloist at historic Old St. Mary's in Philadelphia, PA. This has given her a full understanding of the liturgy and can assist you in selecting appropriate repertoire. She is also an experienced cantor for funeral liturgies and memorial services.

A lover and advocate of art song and aria recitals, Alyssa plans and performs programs regularly. She is available for vocal recitals, concerts, as well as "mini-recitals" for private parties and events.

Alyssa made her professional soloist debut in J.S. Bach's "O Ewiges Feuer, O Ursprung der Liebe (BWV 34)" with the Maine Chamber Society. She appeared in her first opera as Mere Jeanne in Poulenc's "The Dialogues of the Carmelites", and has since added the roles of Angelina(Cinderella) in "La Cenerentola", Rosina in "Il barbiere di Siviglia", Mercedes in "Carmen", Cherubino in "Le Nozze di Figaro" and the Zweite Dame in "Die Zauberflöte". Along with the traditional roles, she has been a part of new operas and productions, creating the roles of Nancy in Dennis Hyams' world premiere of his opera, "The Golden Arrow" and Helena in Michael Dutka's new opera "Midsummer" based on Shakespeare's play "A Midsummer Night's Dream".

Alyssa encourages live auditions. Please contact her for rates, availability and to find out where and when you can hear her at alyssa.staron@yahoo.com
