Describe your DJ style:
My style is modern and laid back. The couple is the center of attention-not the DJ. I do announcing, organize and create a playlist (with you) and implement a smooth timing of events in the time alloted. I keep the dance floor full!
What is your usual attire?
Semi-formal. Usually black dressy top and nice pants. NO jeans. My husband usually wears black slacks and black shirt.
If you do not have one of the songs pre-requested by the client, do you require that they provide it?
No. Just let me know what the song is and I will get it! If it is an original (i.e. from a band they know/song written and performed by another) and unavailable for purchase or download, I would then need a copy of it.
How many other DJs do you work with?
I work with my husband, Mark. I am the main DJ and do all announcing.
What is the minimum amount of time you will DJ for?
For a wedding, it is 5 hours. I can make other arrangements if a special situation arises, but generally it is 5 hours.
Is the client able to meet the DJ before booking?
I encourage at least one meeting, if not more. I take pride in my communication with clients.
Do you specialize in any ethnic or international events?
I would be happy to do them.
Do you bring your own equipment?
Yes.
What (if any) special equipment, such as disco balls or lighting, is offered with your service?
I offer a small gobo (custom logo additional), small fogger, Par 38 lighting system, Chaser, X-Ray, Starlight 2.
How much time do you usually need to set up? Do you require that the site or client provide a table for you to set up on?
We always arrive 1-2 + hours prior to the event. We provide a table, full skirt/covering and a facade. Picture on website.
Do you have any extra space requirements?
We try to see a venue beforehand to judge the space needed. We ALWAYS contact the venue coordinator to discuss logistics.
Do you usually emcee the event or talk between songs?
I will emcee as per couple's specifications.
What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?
We request a meal to be provided since we will be working during mealtime hours, but it is NOT a requirement. We eat at our table (hidden behind our facade).
Will you arrange for recorded music to play during your breaks?
Yes. Someone is ALWAYS present at table.
What is your backup plan in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?
Yes.
What is your overtime rate?
$50 per half hour.
Do you charge for travel expenses? If yes, how much do you charge?
If the venue is far away from our home location, a mileage fee will be assessed.
