How We Met:
We met in the fall of 2010 on an online dating site. No not on tinder, bumble, or whatever other dating sites that are around today. Once the conversation started between us, it seemed to never stop. Late one night I drove out to finally meet Corey in person at Round the Clock. a 24/hour diner. That late night turned into hours of laughter and smiles. From that night on we both knew they had found someone special.
The Proposal:
Fast forward to 7 years later; we are living together in the south loop neighborhood of Chicago with our furry son Kolby. It was November 24, 2017 the day after Thanksgiving, Corey had convinced me that we were going to meet his family at the zoo lights in Lincoln Park. Corey knows how obsessed I am with penguins and had come up with this plan to propose in front of the penguin exhibit. Unfortunately, once I found out that Corey's family couldn't make it to the zoo, I asked Corey to leave since I wasn't feeling well (ruining his whole plan). We left the zoo and headed to grab some dinner before heading home. Corey kept saying we will laugh about this one day, but I still never caught on. After a quick dinner we headed home for the night to relax and unwind. Before the night ended Corey proposed in our apartment kitchen with Kolby right by his side. It was perfect.

Our wedding was beautiful, it was everything we could have ever wanted. We got married at the Morton Arboretum in Lisle, Illinois on Saturday November 2nd. By the time we got married we had been together for 9 years. The morning of our wedding was so surreal, from getting ready with our wedding party and family, to doing our first look. Seeing Corey's reaction on his face when he finally saw me in my dress was perfection. He instantly had this giant smile on his face, followed by tears of joy. Once we got to the Morton Arboretum, we got to really see the magic of the venue and the nature that was surrounding us. We took some amazing photos with our wedding party in the trees, that really show of the beauty of the Morton. Our wedding style was a mix of modern and glam with pops of color. I love neutral tones so we went with a black, white, and silver theme with our accent color as purple. The modern glam was shown off in all the decor with different elements of white marble and geometric shapes. The greenery and flower arrangments with all the candles highlighted the already amazing venue and scenery. The music and food both blew our expectations and guests were complimenting us on both. I do not think there was a time when Corey or I weren't on the dance floor. While all the work, time, and effort made this beautiful day come together without a hitch, it was really about sharing our love with the people who love and support us. After almost a decade of being together, we couldn't have hoped for a better wedding day to show off and celebrate our love. Honestly, the only thing missing from that day was our furry son Kolby, who almost everyone talked about.
