Zipper to corset back

Jesse, on January 9, 2017 at 1:10 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 1 21

Hey guys... just wondering if anyone altered their dress from a zipper to a corset back? If so, what was everyone quoted? I know it's different prices depending on the area. I intend on calling around in the morning but I'm wondering if it's something I should do. Also, if anyone has before and after pix I'd love to see! Thanks!!

The boutique here in town told me it would be about $80 to change it to a corset. I don't know if my dress was easy but I thought was super cheap

Yea, i was expecting a couple hundred but super suprised. I ended up going for a v shaped back but the corset back is perfect for ball gowns and fitted dresses

I did! It was $90 if I brought my own lacing, $140 if I didn't. I spent $15 for one through lacees.com and brought that to the fitting. Easy. I love how it looks!

Well I feel like I'm being ripped off! I was quoted $150 plus the cost of the modesty panel and lacing which i just paid $62 for them to order.

I'm planning on doing the same thing and I love these prices. I told the person I wanted a corset dress and I honestly didn't even notice it zipped up until after I paid for it. I'm still deciding if I want to do it officially or not. My weight goes up and down for no reason so I figured a corset would be best.

That's what I'm concerned about as well. I've been so stressed lately and my weight fluctuates. Plus corsets are gorgeous!

@Jesse high five for corset backs! I LOVE mine and I was definitely planning on paying to have one added if the dress I picked didn't have one. But it did so I lucked out!

@Little: Same here. I told the consultant at DB a corset back was my must have. I was thrilled when she said ANY of their dresses at the time could be made into corset back dresses.

Corset backs and trains are my favorite parts of wedding dresses. They just look so dreamy, sigh Smiley smile

My first fitting is Sunday and I have been having the same debate. Swore I would do corset to accommodate any fluctuations. But after falling in love with the dress, I don't think I should change the back, because of the details. Not sure about yours but think about that too. Here's mine (sample dress size)

This is the back of my dress. Sorry I was moving around and the string is hanging out but I feel like something is missing and the corset would make it pop

It looks like you could totally do a corset and it would be beautiful. Get the quotes and see if it is worth it to you for the amount you get quoted. To me, it's all about it is worth spending that amount on? Good luck and show us pix if you change it!
